NOTES:
- The road directly before the cabin is short, but steep and one lane. Any car can make it up, but during the winter if there is snow/ice a 4WD may be required. No refunds for not being able to make it to the cabin due to weather, road conditions, etc.
- There are 44 steps to get to the front entrance of the cabin. Yes, it's a lot of steps, but nothing crazy. And just think, you'll come away from your vacation with some tone calves! lol

SOME NOTES ABOUT THE MOUNTAINS:

- This is the mountains and cell service may be spotty
- There may be some twisty roads
- This is in the forests and mountains and you will likely see bugs, mice, or furry critters (including bears!). We do maintain the property with regular pest control, but due to the surroundings, or if doors are left open, or food is left outside the house, this can attract critters.
- There are no refunds for storms or power outages. If there is a power outage, there will be no water and potentially no heat. Storms can also make roads impassable, so if a storm is in the forecast during your reservation, come prepared with water and non-perishable food, etc.

- PLEASE NOTE: Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies and these little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabin and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes.

- The cabin has city water, but can still sometimes have a minor smell or tint. This is normal. The water is drinkable.
- Cell phone service is very spotty in the area, so download the maps offline before arriving.

The community pool is run by a 3rd party and we have no control over closures, etc. that may occur. No refunds will be issued for closures of these amenities.

Fireplace is gas powered and is typically shut off between March/April and October/November.

Note: This is the mountains and WiFi and cell phone service can sometimes be spotty and lose service. If the internet does go out, try resetting the router first. We highly recommend you download maps of the area offline prior to arriving.

Christmas getaway

I loved my stay in this well appointed cabin. Despite having a very difficult check in process, which was eventually rectified, my stay was lovely.I appreciate the abundance of towels, luxurious sheets, and well stocked to kitchen. Even though the listing says to bring your own cooking supplies, there were a lot of “leftover supplies“ from other guests, so you’ll be able to get through a day or two without a problem if you’re cooking. I would have liked to have seen the exterior deck cleaned and a little better maintained. Also, they did make full disclosure that there’s a security camera out on the front porch.Directions to get to the cabin or a little confusing so don’t be alarmed if you get lost like I did lolI would definitely return to this cabin for a possible summer vacation

No heat, poor communication

The night we arrived, the overnight lows were in the teens, but the heaters had been left off prior to our arrival. The cabin was an icebox. We cranked up both heaters to max and left for dinner hoping we'd come back to a warmer cabin, but arriving a couple hours later, one of the units was knocking loudly and putting out no heat whatsoever, and the other was barely putting out heat either. We messaged the owners who claimed that the one heater by the bed should be sufficient to heat the whole cabin. We were skeptical, but we decided to try to tough it out a bit longer. We tried running the gas fireplace, but its heat was mostly going up the chimney anyway. It got so bad we even tried running the oven and boiling water on the stove.Eventually, we came to our senses and drove an hour back home, arriving close to 1:00 in the morning, but at least we had heat.In spite of these issues, the owners have been unwilling to work with us, even going so far as to claim that there's nothing wrong with the heat! It's been hard to tell who we're dealing with, as all communication has been through the VRBO portal, and I've variously received messages that seem to come from the actual owners, and other messages that are clearly from some representative. I wouldn't trust these people with your vacation. Look elsewhereAlso: the road to the cabin is VERY steep and narrow with sharp turns. Think very carefully if you feel comfortable doing 3-or-more-point turns on the side of a mountain

We are a multi-cultural, Christian family of 5 starting out in the short term rentals. I grew up in NH, but moved down to FL in 2002. My wife is from Ecuador and moved to the US in 2013.
We absolutely love traveling and the Great Smoky Mountains, getting out in nature, and being active! In fact, we love the area so much that in February of 2021 our family decided to purchase our first vacation home and have continued to expand from there with adding 2 more next door! It's been a dream of ours to have a log cabin with some land to call our own and now that dream has come true and we are excited to share it with you! We wanted a cabin large enough for our family and friends. We hope you enjoy our cabin as much as our family does. We look forward to hosting you!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the look and setting of this property. Something about it just caught our eye. And then once we saw how cute and cozy it was and the view, we were sold on it. It truly is a beautiful and unique cabin with some much to offer and we hope you love it as much as we do!
Set in such peace and beauty surround by the forest and mountains, you can't help but relax at Copperline!
