Perfect view & perfect for 2 people!
The apartment was totally sufficient for two people. The interior was modern and the view was amazing. Although we heard cars and motorbikes all the time we really enjoyed our stay. Especially waking up with a view directly to the sea! All in all, we can say that we’ll definitely visit again and stay at this apartment. CAGNES SUR MER is wonderful!

Pulsierende Urlaubsregion!

Location, location, location
Stunning views sums it up! We loved sitting on the covered balcony in the morning and late afternoon after exploring the area. The apartment is small and the sleeping area is in a private but tight space, but the location and view more than make up for it. The apartment has a portable air conditioner and automatic security blinds which totally blocks street noise at night for sleeping. There is also a washer. Very nearby are the towns of Vence, St Paul de Vence and Nice. The old town area of Cagne is also great with Renoir home and studio and Chateau Grimaldi. We also visited Villefranche sur mer and Monaco. We rented a car and parking was available, reasonable and nearby. The owner and her husband were responsive and easy to work with. Note that they do not accept Visa and require a wire transfer for payment. Since there is a fee for that ($40.00 for our bank) we paid the whole amount up front to avoid a second fee. We had a lovely time and the bottle of chilled wine was a welcome surprise!

Not really luxury
Lisa and her husband were kind and helpful, collected us from the station and left us a bottle of wine which we appreciated. However I was a little disappointed with the apartment . I had not looked closely enough at the photographs and i had not realised the kitchen is in the one main room. I should have read the measurements of the bedroom more carefully and then i would have realised how small it was. it is only really a cupboard with a lovely view . I did not feel that the furnishings and equipment justify the description 'Luxury'. There weren't enough towels and they were only Ikea basics. (We paid 20 euros each for towels and linen). The duvets were Ikea basic also, 100% polyester! Not very nice! Nothing wrong with Ikea, I love it, but the bedding, linen and towels were not luxury. The furnishings are pleasant enough, although the painting which seemed to be of a drowned lady I could have done without. The cupboards above the cooking area which held the plates and glasses were so high I had to stand on a chair to access them. The wardrobe and clothes storage is in the entrance area and its doors knock into the bathroom door if you are not careful, as the area is very cramped. Our clothes had to share the space with a hoover. Many visitors mention the road noise and we found it spoiled the time spent on the balcony and kept us awake at night. Even with the double glazing and the shutters fully closed we could still hear it at night and on the balcony it is pretty impossible to ignore. We were there in early March I cannot imagine what it is like in the summer. It is not as if we live some where miles away in the country, we live right on a A road we don't have double glazing and the traffic noise does not really bother us. The view of course is lovely and it was the view that decided us to book this flat. I am sorry to post this review, I realise that others before us have been very happy so maybe it is just us. A word of warning, think twice if you are allergic to mosquito bites as my husband is, he was bitten 6 times on the first night, I think one might have been hibernating in the curtains. In the summer I imagine it must be bad and sitting on the balcony might be tricky.

Fabulous studio apartment, great location and wonderful view.
This apartment is ideally situated in Cros-des-Cagnes right across the road from the pebble beach and with lots of nice restaurants nearby. The supermarket is 10 minutes walk away and the bus stops and railway station are also very close. Its an ideal size for 2 people, very comfortable and well equipped. Some other reviews mention the traffic noise, which is quite constant during the rush hour, but the fantastic view and location are worth it! Also, with the balcony doors closed the noise is much reduced but you still get the great view. We got a warm and friendly welcome from Lisa, who explained everything about the apartment to us. And the people in the well-stocked Epicerie on the ground floor were friendly too! This is a great part of the coast to be based in if you want to explore the Cote d'Azure. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic apartment at the heart of Cagnes-Sur-Mer
We spent the most wonderful holiday in this apartment. The view from balcony was magnificent and the apartment was very well equipped and very clean. The location of the apartment was also perfect. The beach next door and a lot of good restaurants and bakeries nearby. The owner of the apartment was easy to reach, flexible and provided good customer servcive. We enjoyed every moment of our holiday. Thank you!

UN PETIT BIJOU SUR LA CÔTE D'AZUR
Another absolutely wonderful holiday in this magical apartment, this was our third visit but definitely not the last. We fell in love with both the apartment and Cros de Cagnes. The apartment, Angelina, is beautifully furnished and decorated, new dining table and chairs this year. Huge south facing balcony with the most wonderful views over La Baie des Anges. Comfortable bed in a tiny bedroom, so cosy in your little cocoon with window overlooking the sea. Good furnishing , lovely bathroom and of course all absolutely immaculate. All mod cons : television, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher and internet connection which is now more of a necessity than a luxury to find out places to visit, restaurants etc. Lisa ( the owner ) and her husband are charming and most helpful and they make you feel so welcome and comfortable. Nothing is to much trouble. Cros de Cagnes was a fishing village just over 200 years old and the heart of the village is around La Chapelle Saint Pierre just a few metres from the Angelina where you will find all the boulangeries, patisseries, boucheries, charcuteries, etc etc. There is a great range of cafés and restaurants near by from posh restaurants to crêperies and brasseries . While in France we do prefer brasseries as they do offer basic French food, beautifully cooked at reasonable prices and the crêperies for savoury and sweet pancakes. There is no need for a car as the public transport is very efficient , the bus stop is outside the Angelina and the railway station within walking distance. A little supermarket Vival just below the apartment and all the shops and post office in the village. Nice airport is less than 3 miles away. The market is on twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the Avenue des Oliviers ( where the post office is ) just round the corner from the Angelina. Many thanks to Lisa and Julius for a wonderful holiday and for introducing us to Cagnes sur mer which is so much prettier and quieter than Nice.

A Fantastic First Experience
I have never booked a rental overseas, typically staying in hotels. This was a wonderful first experience, and we couldn't have asked for more accommodating owners. The first leg of our trip the flight was delayed, ruining all of our connections. The time we had set to meet at the rental was not going to work. I texted immediately, and we adjusted the plan. Upon arriving in Nice our luggage was lost, and we had to fill out forms and it took time to get our rental car. Navigating to the rental we ran into a few snags, and the owners called us and were very patient as we struggled to arrive. We were later than planned, and I was worried and stressed, but Lisa was very kind to my husband as he ran in to meet her as I found parking. The pictures are very accurate. The view from the balcony is stunning. The bed area is very sweet. My husband is 6'2" and I am 5'8" and the bed was plenty big and was very comfortable. It is in a little room off the main room, and I loved the arrangement. The bathroom was nice. We used the small washer before we left. The heated towel rack/dryer was a very nice touch. We mostly ate out, after all we were in France :) but we used the refrigerator for drinks, wine, and a few small items we bought at the market just downstairs. The view at night from the balcony of the towns lit up along the promenade is stunning. We never turned on the television. We sat on the balcony when we were in the room enjoying the view or reading. The wifi signal was strong and was nice to use in the evenings to plan our next day's excursion. I have not one negative thing to say about this experience. I really wanted to stay right at the coast and this rental was perfect. The balcony was large with nice comfortable furniture and the bed and bathroom were very clean and lovely. This rental is a true treasure and the price so affordable for the quality of the rental and the beauty of the view. Being from Florida and loving the ocean we stay at many many beach side establishments, and I must say this has all the qualifications to be one of our favorites. We did have a rental car and parking was easy with a public garage a block away. Parking is free from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. The creperie down the street was quite enjoyable. Try the cider! I had coffee and picked up breakfast treats and sandwiches at the boulangerie only a short walk away on the promenade. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience.

FABULOUS, FANTASTIC, MAGICAL.
We fell in love with the Angelica last year, this is our second visit and we have already reserved for next year. The apartment is spotlessly clean, very comfortable with all mod cons : dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning wifi, tv, DVD player etc. It is just as described and the photos are a true reflection of the apartment. But no matter how good the photos are , they cannot express the WOW factor you get when you actually see the amazing view over la Baie des Anges, from the port of St-Laurent-du-Var to Antibes. The large south facing balcony has a big table, 2 chairs, 2 very comfy armchairs and deck chairs. It has also a sun canapé which we did not use as we enjoyed the sun. When we first were looking for rentals " sur la cote d'azur " we were thinking Nice , we had never heard of Cagnes sur Mer. Thankfully we found the Angelica and as we like the apartment we decided on Cagnes. The town has a medieval village Haut-de-Cagnes perched on top of the hill dominated by the Grimaldi Castle, a modern city at its feet and a fishing village Cros-de-Cagnes by the sea. The apartment is in the heart of Cros-de-Cagnes where you can soak up the atmosphere. The port is just on your left, the bus stop outside, and all the restaurants and cafes on your door step. Magical !

Fabulous Views!
Great location, large balcony with amazing views, attractively decorated, modern bathroom, and convenient facilities. From this location we easily travelled to Nice, Cannes, St Paul de Vence, Monaco and even drove to Sanremo in Italy. Parking is not on-site but rather on the street or in a nearby garage for 2euros a day. Garage is very good but it took us several days to figure out how to pay for the next day so that we didn't have to jump out of bed before 9am to pay for that morning. Wish we would have figured it out sooner! We drove but the public transit looks good and it might even be better to take public transit to avoid the parking problems around the many tourist sites. The large well furnished balcony is the best feature of this condo and the views were magnifique at all times! The bedroom is very, very small, and cozy. Not convenient for a couple that gets in and out of bed at different times because the only way out is over the person next to you. However, the pull-out sofa was great and we simply used it for the entire week and it was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with a hot plate, microwave etc. even a dishwasher and everything one would need. With the patio doors closed there was no noise from the street. There was minimal noise from other units as is to be expected. The elevator is small but works well and was always readily available. Secure building. Lots of restaurants and places to buy groceries. Wifi works very well and consistently. The owners met us upon our arrival and answered all our questions. They were very pleasant and helpful. There was no problem with payment. We would not hesitate to return if we ever have the opportunity. Great value! Thank you for a truly wonderful holiday condo!

A LITTLE PARADISE ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA
We were very much looking forward to our stay in Cagnes sur Mer and the apartment which was just as described , even better. The view is absolutely breath taking . The apartment is right in Cros de Cagnes, a few yards from the chapel St Pierre and both the chapel and the apartment are featured on the tourist guide and map. The old fishing village of Cros de Cagnes is on your doorstep with all the shops, boulangeries, post office, restaurants etc. The apartment is very luxurious , immaculately clean and very comfortable . The bedroom has just room for the bed and a bedside table, but it is very comfy with good bedding and extremely good lighting. The bathroom is modern, well appointed and with a heated towel rail. The living room has every thing you could possibly need and the view even from the far side of the room. Although the apartment is not very big ( plenty big enough for 2) the balcony is very big , room for a large table, 2 chairs, 2 armchairs and a sunbed and of course the view is fantastic. We arrived on the day Cros de Cagnes was celebrating its 200 anniversary just on our door step. We had the best seats in the house to watch the procession, the brass bands, the water display and sailing boats, not forgetting the fire works. There is some noise from the road but that is part of the promenade on the French Riveria, but with the patio door closed the traffic noise was non existent. The noise did not bother us one little bit, we spent hours on the balcony, whether for breakfast , or a spot of lunch, or a siesta in the sun, or a sunset aperitif , or just watching the world go by. We did not use the air conditioning as it was not oppressively hot, we did find the hot plate not too easy to switch on ( maybe we are not too clever) but once we cracked it , it worked very well. The whole apartment feels very safe and secure : key fob to enter the building, double locks, electric shutters which also block out light. We absolutely loved our stay in the Angelica, it is a place where dreams are made off. We do hope that we will be able to return one day. Many thanks to Lisa, Julius and Julia for a wonderful stay

Great location for perfect relaxation!
This was a pefectly located apartment for a relaxing break on the Cote d'Azure.Ideally situated for a number of quality restaurants , supermarket, boulangerie and cafes. The local market is 2 mins walk away and sells lots of fresh produce and clothing and is worth a look. A large pebbled beach is 10 steps from the front door across the road. The road was busy however any road noise was not an issue either when walking along the front or sitting on the balcony. Infact we enjoyed watching the world go by sitting on our balcomy watching fishermen and joggers out early in the morning and families all enjoying the stunning view. The town itself is 10 mins from the airport and 20 mins from Nice town. ( which is only 1Euro on the bus) The bus stop is 3 mins walk away and the train station is 5 mins walk so the apartment is well placed for transport links that you would not need to hire a car. The following towns are easily and directly accesible : Nice, Antibes,Villefranche, Cannes, Vence and Monte Carlo. The latter two towns we enjoyed the most and were so glad to have seen. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable, and the owner's daughter Julia was extremely helpful with all our needs and questions. many thanks x We would thoroughly recommend any couple to stay at this apartment and they will have a great time x Tip ; When looking for apartment , tell taxi it is "above the tourist information office on the Boulevard de Plage". Easy to find then and with parking outside. Many thanks, we will be back Anthony and Lesley x

Great View
The view is worth a thousand words. The area is central to Nice, Monte Carlo, Juan Le Pins and Cannes. The beach infront of the apartment is stone and I'd recommend going to Juan Le Pins or Cannes for a sand beach. The location of this apartment is very near the Nice airport. I do not think a rental car is needed however if you are comfortable with riding a scooter I would highly recommend renting one since everything is very near. The apartment is just like the photos. I am 6 foot and was able to fit in the bed. If you are looking for an amazing view and clean place with an area that is slow paced then this is the place to rent. The faster paced places (Cannes or Nice etc) are all within 20 minutes. only negatives would be the airconditioner needs to be emptied every few hours (I actually never even had to turn it on) and the road is right outside the window...however most of the traffic is gone later at night and the little bit of traffic did not bother me

Great jumping off point for a Riviera vacation!
My husband and I stayed in this rental during early September. The apartment was just as depicted in the photographs but cozier. The apartment was very comfortable and we felt extremely safe. The kitchen was fully stocked and the dishwasher and washing machine came in handy. The bedroom is completely taken up by the bed (no way to walk around it on three sides) and we put a blanket at the foot of the bed (which is ~6 ft) so my husband wouldn't kick the wall in his sleep :-) That being said, the bed was very comfortable, the linens were soft and the pillows were very nice. Also, the apartment has electric hurricane guards on the windows which can be lowered at night and block out all sun.! The apartment is on the 5th flr but there was definitely some street noise (mostly due to motorcycles and our reason for the "good" rating). My husband had no trouble sleeping and I sleep with ear plugs anyway so this wasn't an issue at night. The view (for which the noise is a small price to pay) was beautiful and it was incredible to look out in the morning and see only blue and watch the swimmers. The outdoor furniture was also very comfortable and the beach pads and umbrella were GREAT. The air-conditioning is one of those that runs a hose out to an outside unit that collects the condensation. It worked very well but needed to be emptied periodically (this sounds more annoying than it was) and was a little noisy (but we're used to something a little different in Dallas). The apartment is in a great location! There are tons of restaurants, bakeries, ice cream parlors, bars, etc. just left or right of the apartment entrance. Also directly below the apartment is the office of tourism (but don't expect to get brochures in any language but french!), a small grocery store and a nice little bar. The train station (which we took nearly everywhere we went) was about 4 blocks from the apartment - a very quick walk. The station is a small one and there isn't always an attendant, and since the automated machine only takes coins and wouldn't accept our card as valid, we rode the train sans tickets for most of the trip (we figured we'd explain why if we were ever asked but never encountered anyone who cared). The bus stations are about a block away and go anywhere you want to go for 1 Euro. Recommend visiting Eze, St. Paul de Vence, Villefranche Sur Mer, Nice, Cannes, Monaco - skip ventimiglia! Thanks to Lisa and her husband for a great experience!

relaxing Cote d'azure
Superb apartment to the west of Nice. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The apartment was everything we expected and more; clean, tidy, perfectly formed. Great views from the terrace. Close to all amenities, several good restaurants, cafes/bars, deli and boulangerie within walking distance. You do not need a car as the bus is close by and very reliable, 20 mins to Nice, 30 mins to Antibes all for one euro. We certainly would go back to Cagnes as there is so much to do and see. The Grimaldi castle and Renoir museum are worth a look. The area is popular with French holiday makers rather than overseas tourists. The only minor drawback is the traffic noise from the main road which passes in front of the building, this can go on until after midnight particularly at weekends.
