Moose Chalet

Great cabin for a weekend getaway with the wife. Was right next to the snowmobile trail which is what we were after. Had a great time riding the trails and going into town on the snowmobiles. Would highly recommend.

Moose on the loose A+!

Stayed at moose on the loose with zero regrets for four nights! Kitchen was stocked with more than everything needed which is important to us as we like to cook and entertain ourselves. Outdoor areas at front and rear of home are more than accommodating for outdoor entertainment. Hot tub added so much value after long days of horseback riding and hiking. I would change nothing about this rental!

Fishing trip

Great location and the cabin is set up really well for families or friends. It served as a great home base for the three lakes fishing tournament.

Easy access to west side of RMNP

Very nice place to stay during our trip to RMNP. Lots of room with a nice outdoor patio. VERY close to main road and park access. This was a plus for early morning entry for day hikes but did add more traffic noise while out on the patio than we anticipated. Walkable to downtown and nice grocery store. We had small problem with hot water heater when we were there. Property management was VERY responsive and fixed the issue in less than 2 hours. Great kitchen (I wish I had 2 sinks at home!) Lots of little luxuries on the site that really made for a quality rental.

Had a great stay!

My fiancé and I had a great relaxing weekend at this cozy cabin. It felt like a home away from home. Comfortable beds and couches and plenty of DVD's to choose from on a snowy day. The decor was fun to look at and the area is just beautiful. You are a 2 min drive from the main drag which offers great restaurants (Sagebrush was great for casual dinner and there was a NY bagel place we enjoyed for breakfast). 5 minutes drive to the west entrance of RMNP. For a couple city dwellers, it was exactly what we needed for some peace and quiet.

So Cool!

This property was one of the most uniquely appointed (in a good way!) properties I have stayed at in a long time. Location was super convenient to town. We certainly enjoyed the outdoors while visiting but it was so fun to come back to this property in the evening and enjoy the very cool interior décor. This property really enhanced our trip!

Our Stay

Cute eclectic cabin. Liked the kitchen and deck! Close proximity to town but not walkable with kids due to having to walk w/o a sidewalk. Cabin was hot, even with our high being around 72 degrees- due to not good cross ventilation and no AC. We did use all 3 fans. Maybe consider split systems of AC. Internet service inconsistent. When it rained 1 night, there was a small leak that appeared to be coming from the fireplace chute. We put a pot to collect the water. We did enjoy our stay, however the price per night, in our opinion, was high for the level of accommodations.

A Cabin, in Town!

Overall, this property worked very well for our family and we would rent again. The bunk beds are ideal for travelling families. Its right on the outskirts of downtown for a short walk or quick drive to all of the restaurants, shops, and lake. It's also very convenient to get to the RMNP entrance just a few miles down the road. The porch was big and inviting. There are stone steps to navigate to get to the front door from the parking. Inside has all of the necessities and it was clean. Just a few random fixtures to navigate around and figure out, but not easily removed like steps to the locked loft space.

Our annual vacation destination!

This was our 3rd year visiting in July and every time this place feels like our home away from home. They design and decor of the property is rustic/chic. Close proximity to trails, Rocky Mountain National Park, and downtown entertainment. And the deck in the evenings is awesome for star gazing. Highly recommend choosing this place if you want to get away into the mountains!

Grand Lake Cabin

The cabin is exactly as described. The location is amazing and the cabin is very clean. It is close to downtown Grand Lake, incredibly close to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance, and easy to find. SkyRun was responsive to our needs.

Cabin Life

We loved the details of this cabin, great location and clean! It was a fun place to hang out in (after a day of hiking), and whoever designed it obviously took a lot of care in the design details.

Poor housekeeping

Arrived to unwashed pots, pans, and grill. No response from Sky Run. Need to upgrade knives and dishwasher may not be working properly. Excellent decorating and comfortable beds. This is a property management issue, not the owners.

Host profile image
Since the 1960s, Grand Lake has been a cherished destination for our family. Originally, my husband's family owned a cozy cabin here, which sadly was lost to a fire in the 1980s. For many years, we kept the tradition alive by camping in the area until, finally, we were fortunate enough to purchase this property. Now, we’re here monthly, enjoying all the lake has to offer, from snowmobiling in winter to peaceful lake days in the summer. We’re thrilled to share our home with you, and we hope it brings as many wonderful memories to your family as it has to ours.

What makes this property unique

This property holds a unique charm, crafted with reclaimed barnwood transported all the way from an old barn in Pennsylvania. Over the past decade, we've curated moose-themed decor. The moose canvases in the living room are particularly special—photographs of local moose captured by our daughter.
