About this property
Bright City Penthouse with Terrace in Top Location
Bright penthouse apartment with panoramic views and a rooftop terrace. Prime location in one of the most beautiful areas in the center, right by the Isemarkt. Perfectly connected with subway and buses a 3-minute walk away and own parking space. Very close to the action (Schanze, St. Pauli, harbor, Grindel/Uni, Trade Fair, Alster) yet residential enough for relaxed living, strolling, jogging, shopping, etc. Many supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and cafés nearby. Well-equipped.
The Space
The apartment's location is ideal. The nearby area is a bit quieter and more residential, allowing you to live relaxed and safely. Within walking distance, you’ll find numerous supermarkets (Alnatura, Aldi, Edeka, Lidl, Rewe, ...), drugstores, pharmacies, as well as countless restaurants, bars, and cafés.
A special highlight right next door is the Isemarkt, which takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays beneath and along the elevated railway bridge. The Isemarkt is one of Germany’s largest weekly markets, stretching 1 km with around 200 stalls.
The wild districts of Schanze and St. Pauli—famous for their intense nightlife—are just a stone’s throw away.
The apartment offers excellent transportation connections. In just a 3-minute walk, you’ll reach the "Hoheluftbrücke" subway station with the ring subway line (U3) and several metro bus lines. From there, you can quickly get anywhere:
Schanze, St. Pauli Stadium, the Hamburger DOM, the trade fair, and Planten un Blomen are just 5 minutes away, the Reeperbahn 7 minutes, the harbor and Landungsbrücken 8 minutes, HafenCity 10 minutes, Stadtpark 6 minutes, Jungfernstieg and the central station 11 minutes, and Altona 16 minutes. You can enjoy a nice walk to the Grindel district (University), Eppendorfer Baum, Schanze, and the Außenalster.
If you have a car, you can park it in the underground garage, which is convenient since parking is restricted throughout the city center. The apartment is fully accessible without any stairs, and the elevator takes you right to your door.
On the top floor of the modern building, there’s hardly any noise from neighbors—a big advantage compared to Hamburg’s often noisy older buildings. The stable DSL connection and the quiet atmosphere above the city make the apartment ideal for working from home.
The floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows offer expansive views over the city’s rooftops and flood the rooms with light. You’re constantly surrounded by a bright and often colorful sky backdrop, which is impressive with its maritime weather conditions.
From the living room, kitchen, and rooftop terrace, you can enjoy stunning sunsets from March to October. The rooms are illuminated by the colorful light of the sky.
The elevated rooftop terrace provides privacy and full-day sun in the summer. Here, you can relax, dine, or enjoy a sundowner away from the city’s hustle. The seating arrangement can be easily adjusted between lounging and sitting.
The 73m² apartment is thoughtfully equipped. It features hardwood flooring, a king-size bed (180cm x 200cm), a spacious walk-in shower, a smart lighting system, a freestanding kitchen island, high-quality cookware, an induction stove, a Lelit espresso machine, a Eureka coffee grinder, a Miele washing machine, a Gaggenau dishwasher, a robot vacuum, a Dyson handheld vacuum, Denon/Canton Hi-Fi, a Samsung smart TV, a WaterRower, and so on and so forth.
For 1 to 2 people, the apartment is the perfect place to explore and enjoy Hamburg. You’re in a bright, tranquil oasis above the noise and bustle, right in the heart of the city.
Guest access
You have access to the entire apartment and the underground garage. Both the apartment and the garage are completely step-free and easily accessible by elevator. If desired, for long-term stays of 3 months or more, you can be given access to the mailbox.
Other things to note
If needed, a cleaning service can be arranged.
The king-size bed features a mattress with two firmness levels: one side is "firm" and the other is "medium-firm." You can choose which side you prefer. Additionally, there is a topper that can make the mattress softer if needed.
Directly outside the door, there is a StadtRAD Hamburg bike rental station. These rental stations are available throughout the city, allowing you to rent and return bikes 24/7. Rides under 30 minutes are free, which is sufficient for most short trips. The stations are displayed in the app.
A monthly pass ("Deutschlandticket") for public transportation costs €49, allowing unlimited travel.
To protect against Bitcoin mining and similar activities, there is an electricity allowance of 500 kWh per month. This is a substantial amount of power. On average, a two-person household in Germany uses about 200 kWh per month. When I live there and work from home, I use only around 180 kWh. Any consumption exceeding the allowance will be charged at €0.42 per kWh, which is the rate of my green energy provider.
