The view was great! The rest, not so much.
I booked through VRBO and then had to download a separate app to communicate with the management company Vacasa. This meant there was not a person (owner) you could reach out to directly who knew the specifics of this property. Instead, I dealt with an AI chatbot each time I had an issue, and there were plenty and right from the start:•Finding and accessing the property was somewhat intimidating. I was not informed that there would be a locked gate to the property, so I had to enter an unfamiliar area and hope I was at the right place.•There was a lockbox and an electronic door lock. I was sent the 8-digit code specifically for the lockbox. I tried the code on both, but neither would open. I called Vacasa and got AI voice support that finally gave me an alternative code that worked on the electronic door lock. •The house was freezing; all the heaters were off when we finally got inside, and it took quite a while to warm the place up.•The wifi and password were incorrect, so we again had to contact Vacasa again. The chatbot gave a canned response to unplug the modem and router. After some troubleshooting the next day, we found the correct wifi and password on the modem. BTW, Vacasa was not a player in this solution.•I emailed ahead of time to see if we could launch kayaks from the property. I was told there was no way to access the water. This was not true; there were stairs to the water that came directly up to the property’s edge.•The house has a “cinema room”
