Not a part of Roanoke you want to spend any time in.
I give credit to the owners for making this house as welcoming as possible, but at the end of the day it’s still a dilapidated old house in a very sketchy part of town. It’s affordable, and everything worked, but we never really felt safe.

I liked having a whole house and the option to bring my dog if I wanted… I wound up leaving him at home and not going with that option … I guess I did not realize the walk to town was very hilly ( good exercise) and I m not in the best shape…. If I went there again I would have drove my car. I travelled by train. It wasn’t that long of a walk but I m just not in shape to do mountain walking I wound up cooking some fish sticks because I was just too lazy to walk to the restaurants … I like that one Jack Browns… the Walmart was a quick walk… just use Lyft app or there are scooters you could rent … “ spin”.. if I knew about the scooters I would have brought a helmet… overall neat little house to chill if you want to see some sightseeing Brewery restaurants hiking… I went to a conference and I just don’t like hotel rooms I like having a kitchen to use and stuff

Cozy House Minutes from Downtown
The house was thoughtfully stocked with snacks and coffee and had very comfortable beds. It's also a quick drive to downtown.

We are Jeff and Karin Cass. Residing in Hardy just outside of Roanoke since 2003, we relocated to this awesome area from the San Diego, California area. Karin was born and raised in SW Germany between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and I hale from Texas, born in San Antonio raised in Corpus Christi. I speak Texan, if you need a translator. We have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe including Germany, England, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and a touch of France. Israel, Canada, Mexico, Philippians, Honduras and Guatemala are also on the list.

Our Bucket List would include another return to Israel and always Europe. Possibly some return trips to Central and South America and the Philippines on Mission Trips with our Church. If you are interested in swapping stories, we would love to share those experiences with you.

We have been married for over 31 years and have 5 great kids and 3 grandkids. We have a Homestead just outside of Roanoke with 1 German Shepherd, 6 Sheep, 1 Livestock Guardian Dog, 4 cats, 1 goose and 18+ Chickens. If you want a smoked Texas Brisket or a Hardy German meal while you are staying with us, we can probably arrange something.
