This charming house in Pinetop Lakes offers privacy, comfort and convenient location. An elevated 13x40 outdoor deck overlooks a large private back yard and wooded area with a driving range in the background. Great for outdoor cooking/dining in good weather. For the colder months there’s a well-equipped kitchen with a large dining table near the fireplace. A great room combines living, dining and cooking for a cozy family experience especially around the winter holidays.
The 3 spacious bedrooms offer 1 king bed and 2 queen beds plus 2 rollaways. A sun room off the master bedroom has a twin-sized trundle bed good for children or for adults just wanting their own space. Mattresses are firm and comfortable. The 2 upstairs bedrooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom with toilet and shower but have their own separate sinks and vanities. Downstairs bedroom is next to a hallway bathroom. Both bathrooms have large tubs with shower heads.
All bedrooms and the great room have smart TVs that can be used for streaming. Be sure to bring your codes.
The large deck with a covered BBQ, Blackstone griddle and fire table are popular with guests in spring, summer and fall, The outdoor dining table with cushioned chairs seats six. The fire table can be a dining table for up to 4 youngsters aged 10 and under. The fire table is also good for making S'mores using the metal skewers found in the pantry. In the evening diners and food servers will want to use the string lights along the eaves and sconce lights on the outside wall, but after dinner some might prefer just the calm mood lighting from the solar lights atop each deck post.
In summer the neighborhood is great for quiet walks and biking. The driving range allows public trespassing during closed hours and can be accessed on foot from the back yard. It closes at 5:30 pm in summer and is available for throwing frisbees or whatever else comes to mind. The range is closed mid-October to mid-April.
Food shopping and most of Pinetop’s best restaurants are a 10-15 minute drive. A golf course and driving range are less than a five-minute drive. For travel to the major outdoor recreation sites the White Mountains are known for, the far east location avoids the traffic and stoplights along White Mtn Blvd. A 5-minute drive to a 50 mph highway sends you on your way to skiing, sledding, hiking and the best trout fishing in the White Mountains. Sunrise ski resort is a half hour drive from the house. The Apache casino at Hondah is 10 minutes away.
We advertise sleeping for 8, but that number can be pushed a bit where young children are involved. Contact the owner for options.
We encourage families, extended family gatherings and multiple couples. There’s also an RV pad on the side of the house with 30 and 50 amp connections and a water faucet. Additional guests are welcome to hook up their own self-contained lodging, but please contact the owner first.
Caution: this house is not suitable for frail, elderly or disabled guests due to the number of stairs both to enter and exit the house and to access bedrooms. Only the upstairs bathroom has a shower grab bar. Also, the snow shovels kept on the back deck are intended for use by the guests when snow depths are only 3 or 4 inches. For heavier snows we’ll have the decks and driveways cleared as soon as the professionals can get to it, usually the same day they’re called.
