Lovely log cabin...just right. It sleeps 6 but was perfect for the 2 of us. Nicely decorated and attention to detail. Will visit again when we can take advantage of all the extras. We visited in January...perfect to relax away from work.
Spent a weekend at the cabin for a last minute get out of town trip. Cabin was very clean, comfortable beds, and kitchen had all we needed for a short stay. Nice quiet location, short walk or golf cart ride to the river. Kids really enjoyed poking around the wooded areas and the water.
We were visiting our kids and were lucky enough to stay here at this gorgeous log cabin. Everything was clean and felt new and fresh. There is a golf cart and pier to enjoy but the cabin was the best. Host responded quickly when we texted. Morning coffee on the back porch was our favorite. If you're in the area, check out this log cabin.
Great cabin, everything was clean and orderly. We did have a hard time finding it, as there were no address numbers on the cabin. That’s the only reason for 4 stars on the check-in process. Other than that, it was great. Thank you!
Beautiful property, cozy little cabin. Perfect for a little weekend away.
There was a little snafu that happened when we got there and the hosts handled it immediately. They really care about their guests and we had a great time. I only mention this because often the quality of service is best judged when there is a mishap. We got A+ service and resolution.

Cute but not easily accessible for older travelers
Lots of steps and stairs. Bedroom is a steep stairway and would be challenging to get to the bathroom on the first floor during the night. We are in our 70's and reasonable fit. Owner was very kind and informed us that the sofa is a queen sleeper but we had already returned home. He even offered to extend our time. Water is also about a block away. Otherwise, cozy and quaint!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were escaping Hurricane Debbie and even with spouts of rain we still had fun fishing, riding the golf cart, exploring the area and making friends with the neighbo dogs. The cabin was so cute and had all the perfect touches. Thanks so much.
The cabin was just as pictured. We loved relaxing on the screened in porch each evening. The pier is a short walk away and we were also able to sit at the big house that overlooks the river. Historic Edenton is a short drive away. This is a great place to enjoy a quiet weekend away. We would definitely come back again.
Came with my family to get away from the city. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Folks are so friendly and helpful. We are definitely going to return. Very neat and clean and fun! The kids had a great time. It was a wonderful weekend getaway!
Wonderful get away, very quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed spending a day in Edenton. People were so friendly, and we learned a lot about the local history.
The cabin and the decorations are stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. We got to meet Doug which was nice as he gave us very interesting details of the history of the cabin. Other than food you have everything you need. Thank you for allowing us to have a quiet weekend getaway.
This is a well built, cozy and beautiful log home set in a very quiet neighborhood at the River. We wanted a quiet and private place and we found it. We met the owners and they were great. They are very generous with their whole property. The golf cart was fun and handy and we enjoyed the fire pit one night, too. Cant wait to go back!
The property owner, Doug, was friendly and helpful but never invasive. The cabin was built very well with some beautiful copper sinks. The front porch is great for morning coffee, dock on the river perfect for late morning early afternoon, grill for dinner or go to a nearby town, smores in the firepit.
Something to note: there are dogs all around the property, be careful driving! They don't really come up to you if you don't call them, but they're all very friendly if you do.
Perfect getaway for a couple. I think it’s perfect for 4 people but any more it would be tight. Loved having the golf cart to get down to the water to sit on the dock.

Lovely
We really enjoyed staying here. The property was so clean and the owners were very kind. We could take the kids down to a little beach to splash around or let them burn off energy playing outside. We really enjoyed our stay.
AWESOME!!! Great cabin, great location, great owners. Had plenty to do without having to get into crowded beaches or other areas. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
We had a very relaxing weekend, exactly what we needed! The property was so nice from the BEAUTIFULLY decorated cabin to the groomed yard(s) and all the amenities to enjoy indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed the sunsets and sunrises immensely! Doug and Kim were so hospitable!
My wife and I stayed here to get away. It was quiet and amazing. No more than a short car ride to any historic place. We visited Edenton and fell in love with the town
We enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin. It was very relaxing. The owners lived in the house up the hill but it was still very private and they were quick to respond to anything we needed. We liked taking the golf cart down to the river and sitting on the pier. The owners even offered to take us on their boat and they fed us dinner one night.

My name is Doug Liverman. I live in Ahoskie NC. Ahoskie is about 25 minutes away from the cabin. The cabin was built basically to have more room when we (Kim and I ) would have all the family down for holiday weekends. It started out as just a square box shape and turned into what it is today. It is about 800 square feet sitting on a hillside just off the Chowan River in Bertie County N.C. It is pattern after a one hundred year old cabin that Kim, my girlfriend, found in a Sportsman magazine at a dentist office. Kim got me phone numbers and I called until I found the people who own the original one which is over a hunderd years old and much more rustic. We added a kitchen and a few other features to ours to make it what it is. A nice little cozy cabin on a hillside where it fits perfect over looking a pond in a quiet little area on the river. You can walk from the cabin to the pier on the river and never touch the ground. It is great for exercise if you are looking for that. As for myself I own a small business in Ahoskie and Kim is a nurse at the local hospital. There is a larger log home on the property which I try to spend as much time in as I possibly can. If you come and visit you will understand why.
Why they chose this property
Mainly for the view. When I was sixteen my buddy and I would go down to this place and hang out, at that time it belonged to his grandparents. I would watch him and a friend of ours jump off a cliff that used to be in front of the main house. The crazy things we will do when we are young . I never knew that someday I would actually have a house on the same lot. The view is beautiful and breathtaking especially on a moon lite night or an early morning sunrise.
What makes this property unique
The view and location is great and it is very quaint and peaceful. If you are looking for a quiet week or weekend it's worth the trip. You can see deer running around, you can feed the ducks in the nearby pond, watch the rabbits run by, or maybe if you are lucky you may see a bald eagle fly. There are nice restaurants in the area that you can visit by land or river. Just one problem if you go by river you will need a boat, so if you have one you might want to bring it unless you luck up and Kim and I are around and hungry. There is some shopping a few miles away, a movie theater, and some historical viewing if you like things like that. It is small town shopping no W-marts. The nearest one is about 25 minutes away. The cabin does have a deck on the back with a fire pit, gas grill, and a screened in porch. There is a front porch with old timer rockers and a small table for early morning coffee. It has a microwave, also a coffee maker for the coffee lovers. The bathroom has a walk in shower but no tub, in the kitchen there is an oven, stove, and fridge.Jets skies and fishing boats are not available but there will be a paddle boat, small john boat with trolling motor for someone who may want to fish. Canoe or kayak and fishing reels will be available for daily rental. If there is a special occasion please let us know we will be more than willing to help. Check in time is at 3:00 PM, check out is at 11:00 AM.
