Do not stay here unless you are ok with a rat running across your body at 3am

The short of it is that this place has a rodent problem and it will require a lot of work to improve.Place is conveniently situated close to Kona and multiple public beach access points, but is on a very loud and active main road through Kona. The living quarters are fine, but not thoughtfully put together. For instance, there is no bathroom privacy as the door is a see through storm/security door. Upon arrival, we found mouse droppings on the shelves for our coffee cups and plates. We woke up the next morning with our bread, snacks, and backpack chewed through. We messaged the property manager and he was very attentive, but did not have much that he could offer us but to tell us to store everything in the refrigerator (keep in mind this was not stated anywhere in the listing). On the third day, we were woken up at 3am with a rat crawling on us while in bed. Again, the property manager, Arrlen, was very attentive and messaged us back immediately. At this time, we had to get out because we didn't feel safe at this property. Arrlen helped us get a full refund as a result of our trauma, however, the refund was not enough to erase the memory of waking up to a rat on our bodies. I do not recommend this location at all, especially given the rather high nightly rate. Steer clear until significant changes occur on this property... Unless you like rats. If so, this is your dream escape.
