Perched on a slight bluff above the Pacific, this dog-friendly home offers unbelievable ocean views from the deck, a quiet stretch of beach 60 steps away, and a gourmet kitchen cozy fireplace back inside.

The charming town of Seal Rock is just five minutes north, with an eclectic handful of businesses. The heart of Newport's bustling bayfront and Oregon Coast Aquarium are 15 minutes away. Heading south, the Alsea River winds through the laid-back village of Waldport, drawing in fishermen, crabbers, clammers, and kayakers. The home is also close to a wide variety of national parks, including hiking and climbing in the old-growth forests of Siuslaw National Forest.

Almost perfect!!

Pros: Private! Great yard for kids and dogs. House was spacious, kid and dog friendly. Picture windows gave a great view of the ocean. Plenty of streaming options available which is nice when you have special needs grandchildren that need some sensory input. Beds were very comfortable! Kitchen was fully equipped and very well stocked. Overall, the house was exactly what we were looking for, for a great family get away. We will be back! Con’s: Very difficult to see the driveway marker from the highway. I feel it needs to be a more visible marker. Front door needs a handle on the outside to pull Ian’s hold it closed so that locking the door is easier. A added chain lock higher in the door on the inside would be a benefit to keep toddlers from unlocking and opening the door.

Perfect getaway!

What a fabulous home! The private beach access was great, and even though we were near a state beach, there were very few people on the beach. Beautiful beach to stroll on for miles in either direction. The tide pools were a nice spot to explore and the house is located in an area that is convenient to shop or explore other areas. The house was well stocked- the only negative I would say was I wish there was a fan or something we could have used, as it was pretty warm weather during our stay and was not windy, which made the house hot during the day. Otherwise, a magnificent location and just what our family needed!

Cute and comfy but dated

Overall this house was comfy and cute. Although very dated and in need of a deep clean. At first glance it was quite clean but the longer we were there the more we notice. Blinds had thick dust and grime and the windows and door tracks had mold. One of the couches had a bent leg that made us scared to sit. All of this was worth it for the view and easy beach access.

It's a dump. Very disappointing. Beat up kitchen and LR tables. Skylight in kitchen filled with ...

Only great thing was the view of the ocean. My wife and I stayed there 12 years ago, it was a charming place. It's fallen into disrepair, and we left 3 days early of our 5 night booking. Sad, we'd driven 1400 miles for this stay. Avoid this place!!

Great view!

Would definitely go back!

The view of the ocean is phenomenal from this home’s huge picture windows in the main living area! It’s an older home but my kids and I really loved the privacy and the view!

Beautiful views and beach access

We had a wonderful time. The home is furnished cozily, and the kitchen stocked with lots of extras. Nice and pretty new appliances throughout the home. Overall very functional and comfortable. There’s a little surprise “garden maze” at the bottom of the stairs before the beach, it smelled wonderful. Drawbacks: The fireplace always seemed to be on and most of the windows cannot be opened. None of it prevented us from being comfy and having fun. Will definitely rent again.

Classic Beach House

Good house for our family gathering. Well equipped kitchen, linens, and beach toys. Beautiful views! 60 steps down to the beach but there’s an alternative if needed- go to Driftwood Park two driveways south for easier beach access. Upstairs bathroom is tiny but better than nothing! House was clean and ready on time. We enjoyed our time and will likely return. Hoping for the same excellent weather next time! If you’re looking for brand new and high end housing this is not for you. Come for the experience of a classic oregon beach cottage.

Fantastic Ocean View

The best part of our 4 night stay was the view! Open the windows and listen to the ocean lull you to sleep. Comfortable home with plenty of room. Our family enjoyed our time there.

Beautiful and quiet beach vacation spot

This house comfortably fit 2 couples and 2 teenagers. The house is on a very private lot with stunning views and private beach access. Amazing location on a really peaceful beach!

Fantastic beach house

We had such a great week staying here! It was nice to find a house that allows pets with all the amenities this place has to offer- direct beach access, awesome views, privacy, fenced yard, deck, kitchen with all the appliances and utensils to cook there and even a BBQ. It was a very relaxing week, even had three nice sunny days for beach walks. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again!

Almost a 5, more like 4.5

This rental was great. Very clean, roomy, well stocked and fantastic views. The only issues we found were one of the couches had a broken leg or maybe the frame it attaches to, so we didn’t sit on it. The other issue was the sliders in the downstairs bedroom and the one in the dining area seemed to fill/leak/sweat a lot of water down towards the bottom. Perhaps some busted seals? Overall, great rental and we would certainly stay here again.

Fabulous location

This house is located down a long wooded private drive to the entrance that has a large grassy front yard. Beach accessibility is down several steps right off the back deck which was amazing. Eventhough most of our days there were cloudy and sometimes rainy, that didn't stop us from enjoying long walks on the beach and taking in the ocean breeze. The house was mostly clean and comfortable during our stay. We really enjoyed watching the fishing boats and ocean waves from the large living room windows while warming up by the cozy fire. The only downside and something to be aware of is there is only two working burners on the kitchen stove. Since we stayed in for dinner a few nights, it did make cooking a bit of a challenge. The house and furnishings are also showing some signs of age and wear and tear. If those things don't bother you, for the location and beach access, this house is wonderful and highly recommended!

Great View!

THE FANTASTIC VIEW!!!!!

Wow - you walk into the living room and you won't leave it except for strolls on the beach that you have virtually to yourself. The location is incredible! It's very private with a long beautiful wooded driveway. Very close to everything if you can leave the view or the beach! Delicious and fun restaurants such as Luna's, Ocean Bleu and Drift Inn just to name a few. Soups and pastries at the Chubby Mermaid are delicious. Lots of fun art galleries and very nice people. We had a great time and look forward to returning.

Private beach access

Lots of room for our large family. Private entrance and large secure yard for the dog. Lots of games and puzzles, croquet our favorite. Beautiful view of the ocean and 62 steps right down to the beach. Loved this place.

Great views but plenty of fixes needed

If the rating was just based on the view and beach access, it would be easy to rate this a 5-star. But there are many little issues with this house that bring down the rating. First are the directions to the house. They say the driveway is directly across from the Windermere Real Estate Office/Gallery. There is an unoccupied building kinda near it but has no name and is not directly across the street. Inside the house the windows in the living room still do not open despite previous renters mentioning the issue in May. In the kitchen, the top drawer of the dishwasher is still broken. This too was reported in May by others. There was only one dishwasher pod left and 3 trash bags. That is definitely not enough for a week stay. The window above the sink is missing one of the screens so we could only open one of the windows. The deck is nice but there is a 4-5 inch hole in one of the boards caused by deterioration. Given the rate charged for this house you don’t expect to have so many issues.
