We had a wonderful stay. The house was in a fantastic location and walking distance to restaurants, bars, beaches (with fireworks at night) and Sagamore. Bonus- got to listen to great live music from a nearby bar while outside enjoying a bonfire at the house’s firepit.
We absolutely loved the home and will 100% be staying again. This is the perfect location for Bolton landing. Walk to every restaurant, beach, Tops etc. The rental was spotless and the beds were so comfy! Cate was wonderful to communicate with. We are already looking at dates to stay again. 5 Stars all around!
Literally nothing not to like from the yard to the beds (the sheets smelled so nice!) the only thing it doesn’t have is shampoo so bring your own but that’s not a big deal at all. I loved it and hope to be a return guest.
Our rental was right in town and convenient to all that the small village of Bolton Landing has to offer, which is gorgeous Lake George, lots of restaurants and other establishments, and a pleasant 42 minute drive to Gore Mountain. The house is down a private street and secluded enough, yet extremely close to the main street through town. We didn’t even get to the village of Lake George about 15 mins south. where we had anticipated spending time. Our landlord was friendly and beyond responsive!
Our family spent a week in Bolton Landing at Cate's place in late August (me, husband and 3 kids - 5, 3, 2). The house was perfect - 3 bedrooms that easily accommodated our family. We appreciated that the room with the bunk beds had curtains to cover the glass french doors (keep it dark while kids were trying to sleep). It would be helpful to share with guests that there is no tub, so my kiddos got to experience their first showers while on vacation! Big kitchen and living area, comfy couches and plenty to stream on the TV (netflix, Hulu, HBO - and I could log into my own Disney+).
The location of the house was the best part. Right in the middle of Bolton Landing - you can easily walk to everything. The two beaches are a couple of blocks away (we drove since we had kids and a lot of stuff and it was only $5 to park). Plenty of restaurants - Chateau on the Lake was right around the corner and provided a much needed date night out! Stewarts convenience store, Wine store, shopping, grocery store, ice cream, etc. all just a stroll away.
Cate was responsive when we had issues with the door lock - but everything else was taken care of. House is very clean and provided many of our comforts of home. We would highly recommend staying here and look forward to visiting again.
This was our 2nd year staying at Cate’s house. We came here last year to get away during the pandemic and found this house. We had such as great time that everyone wanted to come back! Great place with an awesome location as everything is walking distance to the beach, grocery store, shopping and restaurants. Cate and Buddy are great hosts and very responsive. Highly recommend!
This house was perfect for our family as it is a stepless ranch and is in short walking distance to everything that Bolton Landing has to offer. The home is very spacious and worked great for us. The only reason for not rating five stars is that the bed mattresses are in need of replacement.
We had an amazing stay at this house! Cate and her husband were extremely responsive with anything we needed. Although there are no water views, the location makes up for it! The house is in the middle of town walking distance from the beach, shopping, restaurants and the grocery store (which we went to everyday!)
We stayed with a 15 and 12 year old and there is plenty to do in the area. We went to Revolution Rail (peddling on railroad tracks), white water rafting, tubing and fishing on the lake.
Highly recommend! 😊
We spent a fantastic week in Bolton Landing. The town is small but active with everything you need a short walk away from the house: two public beaches, boat launching and rental, grocery store, plenty of restaurants, Farmers Market on Sat morning... Cate was very helpful and prompt in her communications. We hope to come back next year!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and large enough for our family of four with a nice backyard and BBQ grill, and a fast WiFi connection. Very good location, where there are a nice beach (perfect for kids) close by, a grocery store, a wine/liquor store, souvenir shops, cafes/restaurants/ice cream shop, and the owner's Italian restaurant just around the corner (we celebrated our anniversary there). The owner, Cate, was very nice and responded very quickly to any question we had. Highly recommended, and we'll certainly stay there again!
We have visited Bolton Landing for years. This property is just steps off of the main strip and all it conveniences and with just a few more steps you are on the lake! The house had all the amenities we needed for a successful trip. It was an amazing week!
A nice property in the middle of a cute town. The landlord is great and owns the restaurant in front of the property. Great eats but no discount for staying in the house. ):

Great host, great location
The owner of this property is amazing. She is understanding of unforeseen circumstances and responsive. She runs a restaurant down the street so she is local and knows the town. Location is good as well - by the water and walkable. I look forward to our next visit to the area and staying here!

quiet retreat in a quaint walkable town
My family of four (and my two parents) stayed in this lovely spot for a week in August. We left the car on the driveway and walked to breakfast (The Bolton Bean), dinner (Cate's Italian Garden restaurant), ice cream and grocery shopping at Tops Market - so charming, so convenient and peace-filled. We drove To Fort Ticonderoga, Prospect Mountain and into Vermont for a day of cheese-tasting and going to The Vermont Country Store (touristy, but fun). Went to a drive-in movie in Queensbury (30 minutes away) and had a blast of Americana. Cate and her husband checked in on us from time to time - they own the next door restaurant - and were easy to work with. It's a home with enough space for six (it does have one bathroom, so you have to learn to communicate with each other) and has great traffic-flow for all (one floor living). Highly recommended for a retreat from busyness. Thank you Cate and Edward!
