About this property
Charming 3-bedroom house with AC and WiFi in serene Westport
Nestled in Westport, this delightful house offers 3 cozy bedrooms - one with a full bed, one with a twin bed, and one with a queen bed. With 2 bathrooms equipped with a hair dryer and a bathtub, guests can relax and unwind. The additional spaces include a comfortable living room with a sofa bed and an area with 2 cribs. An enchanting retreat for families or friends looking to make lasting memories. A great place to call home while you're away, we hope you enjoy your stay.
My home is a cottage near a waterfall. It is over 150 years old. Recently remodeled kitchen and bath and includes a claw foot tub! A popular bakery is next door. Many children's camps and Meadow Mount School of Music are nearby. The oldest hydroelectric power is across the street! The house is located next door to the fire department which sounds the alarm daily at noon and Tuesday at 7 pm. We are a town of 35 families so there are minimal real fire alarms. The house is located 4 hours north of New York City and 90 minutes south of Montreal Canada.
Sheets, towels, toiletries, coffee, tea, condiments, and cooking supplies are provided.
The neighborhood is small and quaint where everyone welcomes visitors. 35 families are living in our small hamlet. It is a safe neighborhood. There are Champlain Area Trails for light hiking. Coon mountain hike is just 3 miles away and will give you beautiful views of Lake Champlain (120-mile lake). Multiple small towns are nearby to explore, shop, and dine. The library is next door to my house. There is a playground one block north of the house.
The house is located 45 minutes from Lake Placid home of the 1980 Olympics. Montreal is also about 90 minutes away in Canada. The ferry to Burlington Vermont is 15 minutes away on Lake Champlain. Whiteface Ski Resort is about 45 minutes away. You can swim in the Bouquet River on the side of my home. I recommend visiting the museum in Elizabethtown. It is located 7 miles from the house. There are farmers' markets, winter Olympic sites, ski resorts, and hiking trails nearby. There is ample parking for two cars across the street from my house in front of the white two-story Mason’s Lodge. There is additional parking across the street from Dogwood Bakery next door.
The WiFi is fiber so it is fast if you need to work away from home. There is a seasonal garden out back for meals or herbs you are welcome to
Eat. There are many area festivals and activities for you to enjoy!

I have lived in Wadhams for 18 years. I Moved here after many decades of family vacations and memories. I enjoy skiing, biking, and hiking. Hosting guests is very enjoyable so you can also fall in love with this beautiful and relaxing area.
Why they chose this property
Wadhams is small but has everything you need! A bakery next door, a library next door, and a playground one block away. There are many hiking trails and biking around here is amazing. Farmers markets will provide you with plenty of fresh organic food. Endless hiking on CAT's (Champlain Area Trails) Trails which are mostly flat and easily accessible. There are also more challenging Adirondack High Peak hikes nearby.
What makes this property unique
My home is close to everything in town. It is clean charming and cozy. It provides high-speed internet for your office away from home. The library offers a cozy reading area for kids on rainy days. Hiking and biking are just outside your door. The house is next door to a waterfall which provides water to the hydroelectric plant across the street. It is very relaxing to listen to the waterfall from the comforts of the house on the porches surrounding the home. The is a small garden in the backyard to pick herbs and vegetables for your meals.
