About this property
Bear Lake Garden House - 3 Bedroom house with Wi-Fi and Large Deck
Yes, we have SNOW, but summer is just around the corner. Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course and Crystal Mountain Resort are 7 miles away. We are only a mile away from the snowmobile trail head. The Lake is just across the street, and the home boasts large views of the lake and the beautiful sunsets. The boat launch is 800 feet away. There is access to a 2-stall garage to store your gear. Enjoy this spacious 3-bedroom home, on a large lot overlooking Bear Lake. The home has wonderful old charm and is decorated to match the period it was built. It has a large Outdoor Deck, Fire Pit, and Spacious Lawn for all your outdoor activities. Just across the street is the public swim beach, city park, playground, boat launch and Hopkins Park Campground. This home is within walking distance of a gas station, grocery store, and restaurants. We are a 7 min drive away from Lake Michigan, and 10 minutes away from the beginning of wine tasting. The ornate interior features 3 private bedrooms that have 1 king bed, and 2 full beds, perfect for a good night's sleep. All the sleeping areas have ceiling fans. With 2 full bathrooms equipped with towels and hair dryers, guests can freshen up with ease. One of the two living rooms offers an additional space with a cozy queen size sofa bed for extra comfort. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and pans to cook your holiday dinner, and there is even a fancy dinning set in the china cabinet for a service of 12. The large refrigerator does have an ice maker. This home does not have air conditioning, but it is a lake house built for airflow to cool the home as long as weather permits. On average this home is 70-75 degrees in the heat of the summer. The home gets a nice breeze from the lake during the summer to keep things cool. There is plenty of parking for all the guests as well as room for boat and trailer parking. Kickback, relax, and enjoy everything Bear Lake and the Bear Lake Garden House has to offer.

About the host
Hosted by Derrick

We are new to hosting for short term rentals, but we love to travel and wanted to have a place where others could come and see why we love this home and this neighborhood.
Why they chose this property
The town of Bear Lake is a beautiful secret place located on the Shores of Bear Lake and 5 miles away from beautiful lake Michigan. The town is small, and thus most people pass on by, but if you stop here, you'll find beautiful sand beaches that you can have all to yourself. There are miles of hiking trails. An abundance of golf courses. 2 popular ski resorts. Snowmobile and Side by Side trails. Winery, Distillery, and Brewery tours, and tastings. Every Foodies dream of having flavorful restaurants, food trucks, and farm stands only minutes away. It's a fisherman's delight with river, small lake fishing, and big lake fishing - bring your own gear, rent from the local sport shop, or hire a guide service. This place is in the center of it all, with all the amenities listed above within a 15-minuet drive.
What makes this property unique
The home was built in 1910 by the local builder. It has parquet wood flooring, oak and maple trim, original stained glass and built-ins. The home is considered an Edwardian (aka craftsman) style home and has all the ornate features fitting a home of this period. Many of the original features still exist in the home, but the home has been updated with all the modern convenances to ensure you have a comfortable stay. It has been decorated to match it's age. The home has an attached 2 stall garage to store your outdoor gear, as well as a large deck for sunbathing, eating, grilling, and enjoying sunsets over the lake. The lawn area is large and has an outdoor firepit with wood to enjoy a cozy fire. There is a lady's bike, 2 adult kayaks and 1 child kayak, life jackets, golf clubs, balls, and other yard games to use if you forgot to bring them along.
