About this property

Cute, Renovated Historic Home on River, Walk to Downtown

Enjoy a unique stay in our renovated 165-year-old home while also enjoying small-town charm in Brandon, Vermont. Our 3-bedroom, riverfront home offers two living spaces, air conditioning, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. For après ski, après hike, or après anything, walk downtown and enjoy the quaint, local restaurants and shops of Brandon.

Located on a quiet street, our home has been lovingly restored over 2 years. We worked hard to maintain the character of an almost 200-year-old home while blending it with tasteful and modern updates. Renovations include a new kitchen with new appliances, two new bathrooms, sanded and refinished floors and new windows, and a giant wraparound deck out back.

Yet antique character can still be found in rustic exposed wood beams, uneven floors, and stairs that are a bit steeper than modern construction, packing this home full of charm!

Our home is a short 28 miles to Killington Mountain, 22 miles to Pico Mountain, 41 miles from Okemo mountain, and 21 miles to Middlebury Snowbowl. For mountain bikers looking for flow trails, try Pine Hill Park in Rutland (16 m) and the Sherburne trails (24 m) near Killington. But the best part of this home, is afterwards, you can walk to Brandon and enjoy our local brewery and restaurants.

We do accommodate smaller dogs in our home. However, this is a strictly NON-SMOKING home, and we charge a fee for violation of this rule.

Just lovely

This house was carefully renovated with a beautiful mixing of old and new. We came from Pa. to a watch our grandson in a basketball tournament. We had no idea that this was such a great town. From the house it was an easy walk to very good restaurants with convenient shopping and an excellent bakery. Would like to stay again just to explore the town.

family getaway

I booked the house for its 5-star reviews. location is good. it’s clean and bright. kitchen is fully equipped. but walking on the uneven floor is like walking on a boat made me sick. sheer curtains made felt like being watched from outside at night. no hot water the first day but Kelley got it fixed the next day. She’s very responsible.

I'm originally from Montana and an avid skier and biker who spends as much time in the mountains as possible. My husband and I are working to restore our home so that guests can continue to enjoy the people and shops of Brandon and all that Vermont has to offer!

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because we wanted to be able to walk to town. As a bonus, the neighborhood itself is provides scenic, daily walks and Brandon is conveniently located near skiing, hiking, biking, and paddle destinations.

What makes this property unique

Besides being an antique home with modern conveniences, two separate living spaces helps add a bit of privacy for larger groups. Though personally, my favorite thing about our home is all the natural light and views out to the garden.
