We had an awesome time. It was much more relaxing than a stay at a hotel. The grandkids loved it, and i taught the oldest how to play horseshoes. Would definitely book again and recommend it to others.
When you are looking for rest, respite and recreation...
We stayed at here for a wonderful mid-August trip. The lake is beautiful and the cabin is close to it.... a 2-minute walk. It is perfectly situated about 3 miles (-ish!) from a state park that has great amenities including swimming, picnic, trails, camping... The area itself is rustic with lots of history, there are nice restaurants and wineries. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The host of this property was accommodating, approachable and responsive to any questions or needs. If you are looking for a venue to "get away", relax, and reconnect with nature, this is a great place to accomplish just that!
We enjoyed our stay at the lake house. Brian the owner responded quickly through out whole booking process. The house had plenty of room for my family to spread out or join together for some down time. We liked the fact we didn't have to pack all the linens as they were provided for our stay. Everything you needed was convenient. The lake was a short walk away. My family enjoyed sitting outside at the picnic table. There is a ton of shade for the warm days. The kids loved it they could take a quick jump in the lake or do some fishing. My fur baby was a happy camper as well. We will definitely return!
Loved the gated community and overall location. Safety is very important when you’re bringing a fully rigged bass boat on vacation and we never felt like the boat or gear were in danger of being tampered with. There was even an exterior outlet in the shed that we were able to charge our boat batteries on too! The cabin is fully stocked with all of the household essentials. Most of the things I brought from home ie paper towels, dish soap etc I never even used. Wi-Fi was also a bonus. Sadly in this day and age some of us have to work even when we’re on vacation so that was greatly appreciated. Master bedroom mattress topper and memory foam pillow were very comfortable. Check in and check out was also a breeze. Would absolutely stay here again.
This house is in a great location. It's in a quiet neighborhood with gated entry, which made it feel nice and safe. The lake is a short walk down a quiet street. There are multiple picnic tables, a small swimming area & a nice dock all at easy access. We don't fish, but I can see why it would be perfect for someone that does. Also, only a few miles away there are a handful of restaurants and a nice little coffee shop where we stopped for lattes multiple times.
The house was very clean & it's a nice layout. The master bedroom even has a little sitting area! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans and appliances.
We communicated multiple times with the owner over the course of our stay. He was very responsive and friendly. Thanks Brian!
We stayed here for work but enjoyed a lot of fishing as well
Brian is very pleasant to work with and the home is a very nice place located on a very quiet and private lot , I will be back again and I highly recommend this rental.
We were very comfortable in the home. Everything we needed for our weeks stay was provided as far as linens, tp, paper towels, and kitchen items. Our only complaint is there were a number of dogs running loose in the neighborhood, so we weren’t able to tie our dog out without constant supervision, or walk her without fear of coming upon the dogs in the neighborhood.
Loved it! A very nice cottage with easy access to the wonderful lake
The house was better than expected, very clean, convenient layout, well stocked with all you need to cook your dinner. The fire ring was great for evening entertainment. The internet was strong and reliable. The lake with swimming and boating area is within a very short (2-3 minutes, ~200 yards) pleasant and easy walk. The water was very clean and warm, we enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking and simply sunbathing and relaxing with the wonderful view of the lake! There are also very good biking routs right from the house. Overall this was our one of the best Lake Anna experience winning over several waterfront properties we stayed before. Thank you Brian for renting your house to us!
the cabin was spotless and well furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. we enjoyed the private mornings on the deck and appreciated the ample kitchen countertops. Bryan was great to communicate with.
We were looking for relaxing and rustic and that is exactly what this was. Cozy and exactly as described. Brian was a pleasure to deal with and the information he provided prior to the trip answered all our questions, and more.
Very quiet and relaxed atmosphere . Community very friendly and a great space for pet lovers.. Owner responds to all correspondences within a timely fashion. My family would definitely visit there again.
We loved our stay! The house is just as described, had everything we needed. Only 3 minute walk to the water, and we were able to bring our dog with us. Excellent value.
It's one thing to find a great VRBO rental. It's another to find a great an accommodating owner who really cares for his or her guests. Brian is that person. Not only did he provide clear instructions for checking in and checking out, he was also incredibly responsive to our needs, always a text of phone call away. We were perhaps most appreciative of his list of places to go near the property, including grocery story, places to eat etc. In addition, the property is in a private secure neighborhood merely steps away from Lake Anna. This place is a perfect refuge for city dwellers who want to briefly escape the hustle and bustle of work and homelife. I did work two days and the wifi connection was strong and reliable. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

Very old property. Not maintained well. Main bathroom Tub and sink fails to drain - so you cannot use. Linens, towels are old, very low quality and cleanliness is highly questionable , especially during this pandemic. We had to use our own linens and towels. Door locks are ancient and you have to struggle to open them. Oh, you have to drive 7 miles to dispose off your trash when the neighborhood has trash collections for other houses. Will not recommend this to anyone!
We did a long weekend here and had a great time. We enjoyed how close it was to the lake and the nice outdoor space. And it's great that dogs are allowed on the property. :) If we go back to Lake Anna we would stay there again! I would note two things that I'm sure Brian included in the property detail but I missed (so I'm flagging in case others miss it too). 1) I knew it was a short walk to the lake but for some reason I thought you could see the lake from the property. Not a big deal but just something that surprised me. 2) There's no dishwasher. Again, not a big deal especially for a weekend, but if you don't love washing dishes you may want to bring paper plates and plastic silverware.
Wonderful house, super comfortable with all the amenities. A short walk to the Lake, lots of summer fun! We had a wonderful time swimming and tubing, it was never crowded. Brian was a wonderful host, checked on us, obviously takes great care of the house and ready to help with any questions. We would definitely stay again.
The location was good. It's on the colder side of Lake Anna but the water temperature was great for swimming in August. Right near the house is a place to launch boats and a floating platform you can swim out to. No sandy beach and it gets deep pretty quickly.
The house itself is OK for the price. They have plastic wine glasses, which sort of is representative of everything else. Not great for cooking. They had two rolls of toilet paper, no paper towels. There was a washing machine but no laundry detergent.
It's probably a good value, though, because most places that close to the water were much more expensive.
