Weekend in Charlotte
Overall, the apartment matched the listing photos, and the bed was comfortable. However, there were several issues that impacted our stay.Check-in was a bit frustrating—the initial code we received didn’t work. I had to text the host, who responded quickly with a second and then a third code before we could finally enter. I guess if it wasn’t pouring rain it may not have been as frustrating. Once inside, we found the apartment was very cold (60F), and it took some time to figure out the thermostat before we could warm up.The biggest downside was cleanliness. The downstairs floors were sticky and dirty, and the bathroom needed to be vacuumed before we could shower due to hair left behind from previous guests. Parking was another issue. Street parking was very limited, and while there was an open lot, we had hoped to use the parking garage. Unfortunately, the garage door opener was missing, and despite reaching out, it was never replaced. Per the host, the previous guest must have taken the opener and TV remote.Another detail not mentioned in the listing is that the building is diagonally across from a fire station, so fire truck sirens can be heard throughout the night. On the positive side, the host was very responsive when we needed assistance. The shower was nice, and while we didn’t use the kitchen, it appeared to be as described in the listing.Overall, the stay was okay. We never saw the gym or pool so cannot comment on them.
