The red cottage has been completely remodeled from top to bottom in 2017. This cottage is located directly to the South of the Log Cabin also listed on HomeAway (155082) and VRBO (79279). These properties will rent out together or separately.

The red cottage is privately situated on 5 acres featuring shade trees, open fields and 100 feet of sandy Lake Huron frontage. This 1800 square foot year round home has spectacular views of the lake from most rooms.

Great stay!

We rented the red cottage along with the log cabin to host a small wedding. Everything was perfect and both houses made for plenty of room for our 30 guests to sleep comfortably. Will definitely be returning to this property!

Red cottage

While the house was as listed, there were some issues. The property was not able to be locked. One upstairs bedroom was either sweltering or freezing. Bedroom screens had holes. Beach access should have been provided; I had to ask. No sheets on the beds upon arrival. The overall space was as described. Plenty of sleeping space, kitchen well stocked. The outside area was great, the view spectacular. There was a fenced in yard for the dogs. Despite these concerns, we were able to have a good family vacation.

Family Bachelorette Party

The property worked perfectly for our group of 10, ranging in age from 6 years old to 89 years old. Our stay was only two nights, however had been longer,(with10 women) the one bathroom might have posed a problem. The ground were very nice and place is equipped with everything you need to be comfortable.

Good location for family fun

We had a great time at the red house. Upon arrival, while coming down the drive way, we were met with a lovely glimpse of Lake Huron. The back yard was lovely. The covered porch over looking the lake is private and has beautiful views. It was a bit awkward when we first arrived because there was a wedding happening in the backyard of the cabin directly next door. It was a lovely wedding but it just happened to be right in front of our beach access point. The owners gave us access to a canoe and equipment, including life jackets. Exploring the shoreline was easily my kids' favorite part. We spent a lot of time at the beach searching for cool rocks and playing in the waves. The house was clean and fully stocked with utensils and pots and pans and had a cute breakfast nook table. The only issues we had was the lack of blankets. The heat works great in the house, but the upstairs room with all the windows gets very cold at night and we could've used a few more heavy blankets. It was very convenient to the downtown Lexington area, which was a was a fun way to spend a couple hours or pick up a few items you forgot at home. It's also quick drive to Mcallums Apple Orchard, where we left with a huge bag of apples and cider donuts. One evening on our down the driveway to the red house, we were met with atleast 4 deer hanging out in the front yard. We were surprised at how close the house next door is. I assumed other than the cabin next door, we would be daily secluded. While I had my youngest daughter playing in the fenced in area in the front yard, we could hear the neighbors talking about us, which was extremely awkward and immediately made us want to come inside. Check in and check out was very easy. All in all, everyone had a good time.

Beds and Bonfires.

Great place for a golf outing of up to eight people. Beds for all plus couches and futon. Lake view great for ore carrier watching and evenings by the bon fire.

Wonderful Cottage

We rented both the red cottage and the log cabin for our wedding. Both properties are well-maintained and exactly what we needed for our event. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. We look forward to visiting again!

Can’t get a better view

We had a nice relaxing time. This was our 3rd time staying at this house. We enjoyed sitting on the beach while our 2 golden retrievers played in the water. September was a great time to go with warmer days for beach and cooler nights for having fires. Will definitely be back.

Was great!! Only thing I would change is the carpet upstairs had some stains and the surge protecter to wifi was not working. But was very nice.

Beautiful views, OK house

The host was quick to respond to questions and was very accommodating. The house was tidy and had some nice updates but would benefit from a deep cleaning. The screened in porch, both balconies, and gazebo were buggy and cobwebby, so we didn’t really use them. There were several stains on carpeting and furniture too. The view from the backyard is absolutely amazing. There is a short, easy walk to the beach, and the sand and water was fun for the whole family. The location was convenient to restaurants and stores but set far back from the road so it feels private and secluded.

Perfect vacation!

The cottage met the needs of our little family. We love that it is dog friendly too! Can’t beat the location and the access to the sandy beach really made the trip. Peter is very easy to communicate with, would definitely return!

Would definitely stay again! Good up north feel. Bonfire every night. Beach chairs were provided which was nice. And pet friendly- dogs were in heaven!

Perfect Cottage

We stayed at this cottage a few years ago and we were happy at that time. Peter continues to make positive improvements to his cottage and it is even nicer now. We will not hesitate to book this beautiful cottage again.

Great view, well equipped, friendly host

Worked for our family and one other family even with only one bathroom. Well equipped kitchen, bath, firewood, nice grill. Private and comfortable. Beds and pillows were all comfy. We had a great stay and hosts were super friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Very relaxing stay

This property is exactly what we needed for a nice relaxing vacation. The water is beautiful and clear. I really enjoyed the sunrise from the deck over the water, listening to the chipmunks chatter and the gentle laping waves.

Memorial weekend 2022

One of the best we've ever stay at! This was an updated, clean, private spot for our family holiday vacation. The added fenced in yard and the perfectly placed gazebo on the hill of the lake makes for great sun set and early morning scenic views. Thank you for let us enjoy this spot
