Great place to stay for a family with older kids. All the amenities from games, an indoor shuffle board, plenty of beds, tucked away places, kitchen provisions, and a nice deck. Right on the marina.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to get to the beach. We were not told until arrival that the usual beach access was not available. There is beach access, but it is a mile up and over a steep hill with lots of steps, so not possible to get much gear to the beach.
This place was positively loaded with every little thing you or the family might need.
Perfectly located between the beach, the boats, and the activities or Holland and Sagatuk, anything we might need was only 15 minutes away!!! The staff handled our needs even without asking. They anticipated any problems and they were on it. And the space and sleeping was ideal! We highly recommend this place!
Had everything you could think of. Grandkids had never visited Michigan. They all want to come back. Fishing off the dock and catching fish, kept them busy. Everyone was very friendly! It was cool, so we didn’t use the pool much, but the 5 only per group is rough to deal with when you have 11 staying in your condo. Only possible downside
This place was everything and more. Location, size, cleanliness, amenities, layout and awesome views. We brought our boat and were able to slip at the marina. Our 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren joined us for a family vacation in Holland.
This is our second time staying in the Eldean home and it never disappoints. The layout is absolutely ideal for a big family or a gathering. So many great spaces to spread out or plenty of spots to gather together. For those of you with back problems the beds are really firm, so just be aware of that before you book. You really don't need to bring much with you because the host has thought of everything! We really can't wait to come back again. We are so thankful for this incredible host and such a magical spot.
Great stay. Property has everything you needed. Great location.
Condo was awesome - clean, tons of space, beautiful views and loved how they kept some of the old restaurant theme. Great space.
We had a fabulous time with friends and family. The property has everything you could need to enjoy your stay. Immaculately kept and beautiful artwork. The location is excellent for biking, hiking and spending time at the area beaches. We look forward to returning soon to the area.
We stayed here with our extended family over a long Thanksgiving weekend. The kitchen was well equipped to cook big (we did bring our turkey pan), the common areas allowed people to gather together or in small groups, bedrooms were well appointed. The beautiful view of Lake Mac was a plus!
We were really impressed with the spaces here. We all watched a meteor shower from the rooftop deck! We enjoyed our morning coffee looking over the marina and the seeing the huge barge come in from Lake Michigan. Everything we needed to enjoy the weekend was accessible and provided…kitchen utensils, towels, etc.
Had a couple great family games (provided) and an amazing game of hide and seek. Checkin and checkout were easy and the expectations of check out were were minimal.
We will be back.
We rented lofts #2 & #3 for our large family to attend a family wedding at the Felt Mansion. They were both beautiful, spotless, and very convenient to the wedding destination. Beds were very comfortable. The views were gorgeous. Great running and walking around the lake and beaches. Each loft had great gathering areas both inside and outside. Kitchen well appointed. We did not have time to take advantage of the lake sports available (renting pontoons, jet skis, paddle boats, etc) but saw many having a good time on the lake. Would definitely rent again if back in Holland again.
We had a wonderful vacation. This is a unique place right on the marina. Sitting on the deck and watching the boats go in and out was so relaxing. Love the proximity to Holland, a beautiful town. The loft has seven bedrooms which is great for a large group if you have a lot of kids. Three of the bedrooms have bunks so wasn't ideal for our group of eight adults and four kids, but we worked it out. The only problem was the beach access which we didn't know about until we got there, so it was about a 20 minute drive to the beach. Nonetheless, we had a great time!
We really enjoyed our stay at Macatawa Bay. The unit we stayed in is beautifully decorated, super spacious and clean, and has an incredible view. The pool, hot tub, and playground are very close and came in handy all week for our kids. This was our first time to Michigan and we will definitely be back.
This place was perfect for a large group to get together and make memories. Plenty of space and spaces to both spread out and be together. We would absolutely stay here again.
Enjoy our Stay in this Unique Loft with an Amazing View of the Harbor & Lake
Our family of 6 adults and 2 toddlers and an infant had the most enjoyable stay in this unique Loft. It seems like the unit has just been recently renovated, is extremely clean, and the living units have been equipped with amenities with the comforts of home. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed every smart TV in the bedrooms. The kitchen, bathrooms and laundry rooms (one on each level) were so well-organized and and storage for every item were labeled in the kitchen. There were separate control for the HVAC in every level of the unit. The decor on the walls were unique and one of a kind. Every one enjoyed every nook in the unit where one had a private time to read, watch TV, or do some extra office work in the upstairs study den. The toddlers enjoyed sleeping in the bedrooms with the bunk beds. The best feature of the unit was the most expansive and beautiful view of the lake and the harbor from the living room window and balcony. As tenants we had access to a private beach , a 10-15 minute walk from the unit. Kim, the manager responded quickly to our emails and messages. We want to visit Michigan again and we plan on staying in this unit again.
We loved staying at Harbor View Loft. It was one of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had. The place was spotless, renovated, and plenty of room for our family to sleep, eat and lounge. The only downside is that since it’s a condo we could hear the other renters but this did not stop us from loving our trip.
This beautiful condo was perfect for our girls getaway weekend, just loved the view, we can still handle bunks. Enough room for us to spread out or sit together and talk.
This is a wonderful property. It’s great for large groups, and the pictures don’t do the house justice. They used all available space to make wonderful little rooms with bunk beds for kids, and yet the common areas are very spacious with room to spread out. The kitchen is very well stocked- utensils and basic spices. There’s also an excellent grocery store less than 10 mins away where we bought beautiful steaks to grill. It is difficult to tell exactly where the pool is from the pictures- at first glance, it appears to be right out back of the property, but it actually belongs to the marina, but is just steps away. They do have a rule that no more than 5 people are allowed from any group, which I found quite frustrating given that the house is meant for 12. I communicated this to Kim, who was very polite and professional despite my rather frustrated emails. It can’t be helped, I realize, as they are marina rules, just need to be aware as I missed this when looking through description. As I said, Kim was very kind and responsive. Don’t miss a walk down to the private beach which you have access to as guests of the property- beautiful warmer waters . Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.
Where to begin?! Its extremely rare to find a rental where the online listing doesn't do it justice. Harbor Loft#2 far exceeded our expectations for a weekend getaway with friends. The house was stocked with anything and everything we could imagine for a pleasant weekend in. Spacious, AMAZING views of the harbor, quiet. Everything one could want for a lake weekend away. Will 1000000% be rebooking here in the future.
We had a great time in this spacious condo! Every level had ample living space and we didnt feel crowded at all. We enjoyed the views from the huge windows and the 2 decks. The pool was clean and enjoyable. It gets a little hot in the 3rd floor bunk bed rooms, so we didnt sleep in those. This was located a short walk to the docks where the fishing charters departed, so that was convenient for that trip. We ate a short ways away at Boat Works on the water, as well as at the Mermaid in Saugatuck. The condo is a short drive to all of the fun shopping as well. The owner is super nice and helpful. The staff down in the store are quick with assistance also.

Why they chose this property
This property, for the past 30 years, has been the Piper Restaurant (previously Sandpiper). After owning/operating the restaurant for over 30 years, Pat Eldean decided to retire and the building has entered its next phase and redeveloped into 3 apartments/condos on the 2nd and 3rd floors with a restaurant space on the 1st floor. Unit 1 is occupied on a long-term basis, Unit #3 was completed in 2018 and the restaurant space has not been occupied yet.
