We enjoyed everything about our stay aside from the technical issue that kept us from accessing our check-in information. I am happy to report the issue was immediately and successfully managed as soon as I contacted Vrbo.Beautiful little cabin in nice lakeside area.
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at this property. Lovely location, clean, cozy and thoughtfully appointed one bedroom with small kitchen. Close to Paradox Lake, short walk from cabin. Responsive hosts who upkeep the property. Would love to visit again. How can I find out about availability of larger cabins?
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The place was perfect for my needs as a solo traveller looking for a private getaway on a lake. Cozy but just the right size for a single traveller or a couple. Directions to the lakefront could have been a little clearer -- I went to the wrong dock initially! But that's more my fault than the host's. Loved hearing the loons at night and being able to chill on the front porch. I'd definitely stay here again! Thank you!
A very sweet and well thought out dwelling. The kitchen-in-a-closet is delightful and well appointed. It was just what we needed for our visit to Paradox.
I loved our Adirondack weekend at your place Melissa. It was so cozy and clean and convenient and well stocked and just all around awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this little gem with us :)
Nice little cottage style place with recent upgrades Not lake front but with access to water and kayaks available. Lots of nearby trails with nice views.

Perfect for two.
Great location on Paradox Lake, fifteen minutes from several good cafes, well equipped and comfortable. Close to Ticonderoga and several routes into Adirondack mountains. Very enjoyable.
The location was peaceful and beautiful. We had all we needed at this quaint stay. Melissa provided detailed information. Checkin was easy. We only wished we could stay longer. We will definitely return!!!

Very nice ,newly renovated , perfect couple getaway with full kitchen. Internet wifi could be little stronger.
This getaway for one/ two or you and your pup is comfy, cozy, and well appointed. The kitchen has everything one needs and the bath is very well done. The porch is an extra bonus to sit out at night and listen to the loons.
There is easy acess to the quiet lake with a swimraft, kayaks, and rowboat. Overall, my favorite Adirondack vacation spot!!
Shroon lake with restaurants and shopping is only a 15 min drive.
We had such a great time on this trip. Place is exactly as described. You have everything you need for your stay in the beautiful area. Melisa contacted us with details on how to find the cottage and directions were very accurate. GPS is spotty in some places. Great hikes around. Beautiful lake. If we are back in the area, definately stay again.
We arrived at Paradox Lake about 6:30 PM. Everything was ready for us at the cabin. After bringing in our supplies, we relaxed on the two chairs outside to wind down from our six-hour drive there. We were greeted by peaceful relaxing surroundings. Then, the rain, thunder and lightning began.... By about 7:30 PM, the power went out. Our dinner that night was to be heated and all the cooking appliances are electric. So, we snacked on other things! We brought a battery-operated headlight and a cell phone light. Around 9:00 PM the power was back! We got to make our dinner and dined inside. All the while the rain came down. Luckily our cabin is well constructed and not one drop fell inside. But at about 9:45PM the power went out again, for the whole night! There was flooding all around us. Since the water supply has an electric pump, we lost the ability to access water inside. BUT there was PLENTY of water running along the side of the driveway! This supply came in handy to flush the toilet! Our hosts were very responsive to our report of the power outage and with power out all around the lake, it was going to take a while to restore it. By noon the next day, we had power again and luckily the road leading to the cabin stayed intact. Many nearby roads did not fare as well. A neighbor came by to give us water and invited us over for hot coffee! It was a memorable trip and we were so glad that all went well in spite of the weather.

This cozy little place was a joy to stay in for me. It is well maintained, clean and had been well thought out in design. There were perfectly placed places to hang articles like my purse, dog harness, towels and my pajamas! The soap that was provided was made locally and the jar of maple syrup was an added gift. The location provided me the scenery and peaceful solitude I desired. Nearby Schroon Lake Village was fun to visit. Loved it here.
The Porcupine A-Frame at Paradox Lake was Paradise!
The A frame was the perfect size for my dog and I. It was important for her to be comfortable and this was just the right fit. For myself, I enjoyed the location of seclusion, privacy, and quietness. The accommodations were cozy, comfortable, clean with a fully stocked kitchen and updated bath.
The comfort included an air conditioner yet a quiet wall fan was truly appreciated. The location was a few minutes walk (and steps) to the lake with chairs provided after a quiet daily swim. There was a supply of all one would need for canoeing or kayaking.
It is difficult to find a more perfect vacation location in the Adirondacks with a short drive to restaurants at Schroon Lake.
Since I am retired and single, Porcupine will be my vacation choice for years to come.
Melissa and Jaimi - thank you again, Sue and Gypsy
I enjoyed my stay in the A-frame. There are many steps to get down to the lake. Once there you can sit on a deck. I was disappointed I could not get in the water to wade and suggest that you do something to improve the access, less rocks, maybe a railing for safety. The kitchen was a galley, ending with the bathroom. The refrigerator is "really" small. I was glad I was advised to bring food with me. Since I didn't have to cook it worked out ok. The Smart TV had no instructions. The internet was spotty, and didn't work at all on Wednesday. My poodle enjoyed the deck and spent a lot of time observing the territory. There is no 278 on the road so missed it a couple times!!
Just right for a couple. Boat launch access was easy at the state park. Renters need to be capable of climbing a lot of stairs to get to the dock and the little deck at lakeside. That should probably be explained in the listing. The A frame was very clean and thoughtfully stocked with necessities for a little cooking. The bed was comfy too! I found friendly folks in the neighborhood as I walked our dogs. We would definitely come back!
It was -10 F outside but we stayed cozy and warm inside the Porcupine cabin. We had bought groceries and the fully stocked kitchen allowed us to cook up breakfast and dinner. The bathroom was surprisingly large with great water pressure in the shower. The cabin itself is secluded on Paradox lake, but since it’s just off of I 87, we could easily get to Lake Placid, Whiteface, and other parts beyond. Paradox lake froze over and we were able to have a nice stroll on the ice and snow with snowshoes that Melissa and Jamie provided. We would highly recommend this cabin again.
so serene and tranquil, the cottage is well kept, homey, and warm. We stayed for 3 nights, had several fires, plenty of wood available. Since it was off season, we literally had the whole area to ourselves. Found several local eatery's and enjoyed talking with all the locals. Thanks for very relaxing stay.
We had a great time during our stay. The A-frame was immaculately clean upon arrival. It was a cute and quiet place to relax and enjoy Paradox lake. The location was very convenient. Town of Schroon was just down the road. Loads of opportunities for hiking. We did not do any hiking but enjoyed the lake and the fishing. The host was easy to reach out to and promptly responded. We ran into the hosts during our stay and they made sure there was nothing else we needed. Very pleasant hosts and great place to stay. We will be back.
Perfect stay. The A frame was comfy, the lake excellent with many northern pike caught and the hosts were outstanding!!
