You’ll be only 60m from the trailhead for the Dooagh National Looped Walk that leads to the famous Deserted Village of Slievemore and the secret beach at Annagh. Dooagh is the home of the highest Atlantic cliffs in Europe, the remains of Ireland’s only basking shark fishery, the hunting grounds for a large resident pod of dolphins (often spotted from the living area and the outdoor terrace) and the infamous Captain Boycott’s residence. It’s simply paradise!

About the host

Hosted by Roisin

Host profile image
The owner Michael was born in this property when it was a 3-roomed cottage family home. His wife Roisin and he have been welcoming guests to their B&B for over 35 years, and now rent out the property as a holiday home.

Why they chose this property

Michael and Roisin returned to Achill from Athlone and Dublin in 1986 to raise their young family. It’s a perfect place for families, safe and nurturing. Anyone who likes the outdoors will be spoiled for choice of activities, whether on land or sea. Even those who only like a casual stroll will be astounded by the island’s natural and wild beauty.

What makes this property unique

As the property has developed from a cottage over 100 years old to a large family home it has retained its cottage-like character, with the addition of all the modern comforts you’re used to (even recliners!). If you just want to relax, you don’t have to leave the house to enjoy the views of the Wild Atlantic and Achill’s rugged mountains.
