This was an absolutely magical place. Beautiful art, beautiful views, beautiful tile and counters, beautiful leaded glass windows….I feel so lucky to have found this place! I can’t wait to come back.
Perched on a steep slope, the rooms have a great view through the woods to the east. Easy street parking, nice fireplace, excellent shower, and the separate deck area would be outstanding in better weather.
My best friend and I went for their birthday! It was such a cool space and Vicki was so communicative, kind and inviting!
We absolutely will be staying again when we are in town!
This suite overlooking NW Portland lived up to its advertising! Beautifully furnished and decorated in an eclectic historic style and conveniently located close to shopping and dining. We particularly loved the incredible rain shower in the stunning tiled bathroom, the cozy bed with gas fireplace and all the antique glass maximizing the light, especially in the morning. Our hostess was a friendly delight and encouraged us to enjoy the view from the deck and she wasn’t wrong… despite the cold, the heaters and the sunset view of Mt St Helens and Mt Adams made for an unforgettable evening.
We loved our stay, a very nice neighborhood with awesome views, the deck experience was memorable.
The vintage home felt nice.
Clean bathrooms and plenty of supplies.
Only thing we missed was a stow but the electricity pan compensated for it.
I loved the uniqueness of the building, as well as all of the artistic touches. Clear instructions and helpful information througout the space. Quiet and comfortable
I love this place... the unique feel stepping into a residential elevator, copious tile in bathroom, small space but high ceilings, beautiful setting and great locationview from the deck
Vicki was an excellent and accommodating host! Property was beautiful and you can see her interior design background throughout the apartment. Wish we had more time to enjoy the cozy atmosphere and beautiful views from windows and balcony.
This property has a great ambiance, both where you stay and the deck the owner shares with visitors. We spent much more time this stay on the deck with a beautiful view over looking Portland. Can’t say enough how much of a hidden gem this place is, we have been staying there for years and will be back!
My partner and I stayed in this beautiful place for 3 nights. Loved the location. The place has lovely, unique decor. The spacious deck is so relaxing with stunning views of downtown and mountains beyond. Vicki was there when we arrived and was friendly and helpful.
A safe neighborhood! Beautiful home, organized thoughtfully with creative inspiration. We would highly recommend staying here and get to know the host if you have the opportunity. Smoothest elevator I have ever experienced.
This house is almost like a hidden garden, every nook and cranny is something new and exciting. You have to experience this unique stay in person to understand the beauty and history. Ive never stayed in a home where I was in awe❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful rental with a very cool vibe. Loved every aspect of it!

About the host
Hosted by Vicki deVille
I am a native Portlander and also a property developer/interior designer. I lived in Hawaii for 29 years but have come back to Portland to spend time with aging parents and grandchildren. I have traveled extensively, spending time in more than 80 countries and know what to expect in a fine hotel.
Why they chose this property
This home has a unique sense of character and the location is wonderful. It is an easy stroll to Downtown,, the Saturday Portland State farmers Market, NW 23rd Street and to the Pearl. A $5 taxi ride back up the hill makes it easy for those who don't want to walk back. There is also a bus stop right across the street.
What makes this property unique
This home was built in 1950 by Eric Ladd who re-used pieces of the historic Portland Hotel which was torn down that year and stood where Pioneer Place is now located. I purchased the White Stag Windows from the Rebuilding Center and added to Mr. Ladd's legacy by using them to define the suite you will be staying in.
