About this property

Beautiful POOL3/2 Sleeps 8. ALL ROOMS Waterfront

Casa Verde - the open water views from every room of this gorgeous home will leave you breathless! This is truly an escape from the hustle bustle.

Located on direct open water in a very quiet neighborhood, you can enjoy many resort activities - without ever leaving home! Snorkel, fish, or swim right off the deck, in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Florida Keys. Or, you may choose to lounge or swim in the waterfront, 30-foot by 15-foot, heated pool. The view from the screened in porch is also stunning and barbecuing or simply enjoying the heavenly breezes in one of two hammocks is a relaxing end to the day. Watching the sunset from the deck or lying in a lounge chair under the stars is a great way to really unwind.

As our home has an ample sea wall, you may choose to bring your own boat. You will be glad you did - exploring the Lower Keys Back Country is unforgettable. Canoes are available for rent at the Sugarloaf Lodge less than a mile away, so, even without a boat you can view the native Florida birds and marine life up close.

When you need some more action you can drive the scenic 20 minutes to Key West, which boasts fabulous restaurants, nightlife, museums, historic buildings, and tons of unique charm!

Our family's love for Casa Verde is evident in the care that has gone into providing you with the very best vacation home. We hope you love our home as much as we do.

Relaxing and Quiet

Colette was very attentive and responded quickly to any requests. The location was great, and a short drive to all of the action in Key West, giving us two different vacations to choose from, depending on the day. The pool was great and an added bonus in all the sunshine and warm weather. Will definitely stay again on our next Key West stay!

Awesome vacation

This is the second year we have stayed at this house. It is such a wonderful location and wonderful house. Plenty of space and so much to do. The pool is perfect for our kids and they love fishing off the deck around the property. It's a quick drive down to Key West which makes for a fun day and evening out. I'd highly recommend this location for anyone looking like a nice vacation spot. Hoping we get to do it again next year!!!

Great time at Lower Sugarloaf

Fantastic view. Beautiful corner lot. Plenty of room. There is no dock, just seawall, so boaters need to bring fenders to keep their boat from scraping the seawall.

Wonderful waterfront corner lot!

Our family had a wonderful week at Collette’s home! The house is a beautiful corner lot, with access to the Gulf and Atlantic from our boat parked right out front (Sugarloaf Marina was helpful)! The house was well stocked for cooking with lots of sleeping room and towels. Collette was easy to reach and helpful throughout.

Just like pictures!

The view from ever room is spectacular. This is very close to Key West (15 to 20) minutes. It is a very quite neighborhood. All though the house is older it was perfect for us to relax and enjoy the view. Collette was very receptive to feedback and very quick to answer my questions.

Fantastic Stay on Sugarloaf

Couldn't have been happier with our stay to the to Sugarloaf Key. The neighborhood is quiet, the home is at the end of the street, the marina is .5 mile away along with a restaurant and even a Farmers market with fresh Grouper and Key West Shrimp. Rent a boat at Cudjoe key and keep it right in front of the house on the canal. Pictures and description are exactly what you'll find when you arrive.

Our Key West adventure

We absolutely loved the house. We actually only went to the beach twice during our stay because we enjoyed it there so much. Collette was absolutely overall a great person and very reliable and easy to deal with. One of our favorite vacations by far.

Great place to stay! Open Water views are beautiful!

Our stay was great! Collette was very easy to work with. If we had any questions she answered them promptly. We had kids ranging from 11 to 22, and all had a blast. House was very clean and enjoyed the heated pool and grilling by the water. Even though we did spend most of the time in the bay. We brought a 25 foot boat and had no trouble getting out to the Atlantic. House is located close to American Shoals which is where we fished and some went spear fishing. We hope to stAy again next year!

Great location, quiet setting, convenient to all lower Keys activities.

This property is a perfect place to stay to explore the sites of the Keys and to enjoy the beautiful water and breezes of Sugarloaf Key. There are grocery stores, and restaurants within easy and quick drives, plus several State Parks to visit. The house was very clean and well equipped with linens, cooking utensils, glasses, etc. The views from the upper living areas are wonderful. On that level are three bedrooms and two baths plus a large living room, dining area and kitchen with a bar abs large pantry. All of the rooms have ceiling fans in addition to the a/c system. There are TVs in each of the bedrooms plus one in the living area. Furniture is comfortable. Lovely porch off the living room for watching the sun set with a walkway that connects to each of the bedrooms. The grounds are well maintained. The pool is a nice size and has sun coverage for several hours (in late Feb.). Was a bit chilly and could not figure out about the heater but was overall fine. There is a cabana right on the water with a grill, table and chairs, ceiling fan and super water view. Also on the ground level is a screened in area with a hot tub that appeared not to be working for some period of time and a tiled area with comfortable furniture. There is another room and bath down there but it also appeared to have been not used in a long time. I expect that that may be the 3rd bath in the VRBO advertisement. There were just two of us, so we did not need the third bath or the additional bedroom but would have been a bit disappointed if we had. Lots of small things that could be fixed pretty quickly would make a much better first impression- burned out lights on exterior not to be changed without a screwdriver that we did not bring; paddles for kayaks and life jackets; instructions for how to heat the pool. We will come back next year if we can get a reservation. Things that we loved when we could make ourselves leave the house: flight to Dry Tortugas for the day; Turtle Hospital; Butterfly Sanctuary; Kermits Key Lime Pie; Salute's Restaurant on the beach; Mangove Mama's; Square Grouper; Publix for groceries; walks and drives on Sugarloaf Key and sitting in the sun looking out over the water in a most peaceful setting. Our hostess was very helpful and responsive by email and text. Thank you, Colette.

A+ views and Outdoor living

This house is a definite winner for the waterfront view and private pool on the water. The pool had a heating issue which was responded to within 2 days by the pool guy, but the fix didn't last but a few hours, so in cooler months this would be detrimental to the use of the pool. We never could get the hot tub working, it needed water, which we added, but was in definite need of cleaning and chemicals. We appreciated having pool towels provided and lots of outdoor chairs. Inside conditions are adequate (although things like lamp shades and upholstered chairs are badly sun/age damaged). We did not realize the 3rd bath is actually off the lower pool level (and definitely would not consider it a full bathroom, and only accessible from the outside lower porch) and is not part of the main house/bedrooms. 2 couples of our party had to share a hall bathroom which was unexpected. Similar comment as others with broken kayak paddle and a leaky boat. Working lights on the outside entrance steps would improve safety. We are experienced Keys renters and would return to this property for the outside setting, but only using 2 of the 3 bedrooms for adults.

We had a great vacation stay at this home on Sugarloaf Key,

We enjoyed the water view, the pool, and the peaceful great location close enough to Key West. Parts of the house is in need of some repair: screens of the screen patio, a light in the gazebo, and a fan on/off chains on the second floor porch. None of these items distracted from the good time. We could turn on the jacuzze blower but could not get it to heat the water. The pool water temp was very comfortable. The listing description was accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities of the property. The beds were comfortable and linens, towels etc. were clean and adequate in number. I would recomend this property to others.

Location -Location-Location!!

My husband and 2 sons (24 and 26) spent our Christmas vacation at this perfect ocean front home! The views are more spectacular then the photos show! The best extra is the heated pool. We usually like to explore new destinations but It was very hard to pull ourselves away front this Mecca. We spent New Years on Duval street (a must do) just a short 20 minute ride down to Key West. Directly across the street is a small airport where my oldest son did his first sky dive! We rented a 26ft boat and was able to dock it right in front of the property. Spent several hours enjoying the keys fishing and diving! Snorkeling off sea wall harvested spiny lobster for our dinners on the outside grill watching the peaceful, AMAZING sunsets. I cannot say enough about this home. Very well equipped with kitchen items and the beds were SO comfortable! On your way to your dream vacation you will need to stop at Winn Dixie On Big Pine Key for your food, drink, and all sundries including paper products, soaps, salt and pepper and plastic cups!! Collette is always just a few minutes away via phone or text if you have any questions or concerns! We will definitely return for another vacation that we rank as one of our best, if not THE BEST ever!!!

Repairs needed

Location is second to none and believe what others have written regarding this. Home was clean. However, I was a bit taken back on the condition of the property and the maintenance of the pool. The lounge chairs torn, screened in patio screening ripped, hot tub green, torn cushions and broken leg on chairs in the cabana. Lights and fans that you couldn't turn off or on. Tried to get the pool warmed up a bit and vacuumed out, but that did not happen until the day I left. He even told me that his last visit was prior to my arrival. With the Kayaks that are on the property I thought it would be nice to head out. My trip did not last long, the paddle was broke and the kayak leaked. It kind of became comical after awhile every time we discovered something else not in good repair. With a little maintenance I would come back in a heartbeat, again location, location, location. Just don't be fooled by the term luxury.

Awesome Vacation Rental!

My family and I have stayed at this house twice, the first time in July 2011 and the second was June/July 2015. We have taken 10 trips to the Florida Keys and have stayed on a number of the Keys from Marathon down. This house has become our favorite and really has it all. The fishing, snorkeling, and kayaking were great both times. The house has great views of the Lower Sugarloaf sound and is very clean and well maintained. The location is perfect for checking out all the Lower Keys have to offer as well being a short ride to downtown Key West. The owners are very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. I recommend this house to anyone looking to take a Keys vacation.

Great Place

This property was GREAT! Being on a corner lot there was always a breeze, plenty of Palm Trees for shade when you wanted it, and the pool was an added pleasure. The neighborhood was nice and quite, and there was a very nice bike/walk/run path that made exercising a pleasure, if that's possible. Easy drive to Key West and to grocery stores. This was one of the most relaxing vacations I've been on, and I truly believe it was due to the house and facilities there. I strongly suggest staying at this house!

Peaceful Bliss

This is late but I depend on this site for reviews so knew i had to take the time to give mine about this beautiful peaceful property! My 50th birthday was the reason for the trip with my 2 sons 24 & 29, and ones' girlfriend-29, my mother in law, and my husband and I. First! I do a TON of research on everything I plan to see, place I rent, or car I'm going to drive! This home beat out 2 dozen I considered. *1* can't beat the views/beauty of the water... right on the corner lot, water 2 sides of us! Relaxing covered cabana to fish from, bbq, just kick back and relax. The Pool was cold our first 2 days, only 1 of 2 complaints. It was Jan and cold so were counting on the heated pool, but after pool guy came by it was fine the next night. So fun, and a good way to sober up after a fun time in Key West - which is only a 20 min drive :) We went there 4 times, the best time watching the Bronco's win the AFC Champs!! Being from Denver and in our gear was a hoot - we had a good time at the sports bar JackFlats. Home is so open and views abound as you step in!! (several stairs.. they did have a handicap "elevator" type thing but don't know if it works, did not have need to use it) Truly awesome getting up to make coffee and seeing the awesomeness of God! Bedrooms were nice with each having a view as well! We had a hard time opening/closing the sliding glass door in the master (and no screens probably because of weather??) and would suggest this be replaced, but other than that we had a wonderful relaxing time and would come again! Oh, and the Turtle Hospital is awesome, i'm a (bigger) fan now!

Fantastic Getaway

We loved our stay at your home! My wife & I enjoyed the privacy of the corner lot, dense tropical foliage and palm trees! The pool was really enjoyable and the views of the water are fantastic! We enjoyed kayaking around the bay and the canals. The house is in nice condition, and had everything you'd need. The owner was very attentive, and was only a call away if we needed anything. We have rented many vacation home in the keys over the years, and I would highly recommend staying at Casa Verde! Nice short 20 minute drive to Key West for all the action & nightlife! 5 short minutes to Mangrove Mamas for a lobster Reuben.Yum! We did not want to leave!
