This place has really become our home away from home. This was our fourth time and we enjoy the experience every time. The peacefulness of the area and the great view accentuate the loveliness of the cabin. The hosts are always great and easy to communicate with. If you need a quiet place to get away (while also not being far from shopping or outdoor hikes, this is the place to be.
This cabin was all that my husband and I hoped for in a getaway for our annivesary! Lisa is the most thoughtful host that we have ever had and the cabin is all that is listed and more! The peace and quiet was so needed and this cabin offers it like nowhere we have ever stayed. I highly recommend Balsam View cabin! You will not be disappointed. Comfy beds, clean and well stocked. It checked all the boxes.
It was perfect as I was hoping. It was the first time in a cabin rental. It was exactly what I needed and couldn't have been better. I need to come back when the weather is better so I can enjoy the outdoors more.
This was our 4th visit to Lisa & Chuck’s cabin and except for no snow it didn’t disappoint. The cabin is comfortable, well stocked & conveniently located to Sylva, Franklin, Great Smokey Mtns National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lisa is very responsive & helpful.
As described only better. Perfect cozy cabin. Everything you need is there and considered. Outlets for charging, nightstand lights, kitchen equipment, grill, coffee makers, blankets to snuggle on the sofa... The cabin is very clean, communication with owners is super easy. The view is amazing. Plenty to do near by. We went to Cherokee museum and culture center, bowling, hiking. Great weekend, well worth the money.
A top notch mountain cabin! The owner has thought of everything and organized it all beautifully.
The almost 2 mile curvy mountain road had my flat lander husband in dismay at first but the road is very well maintained and is worth the drive up to this cabin!
Comfy beds. Cozy living room with electric fireplace. Lots of good seating on the porch.
Highly recommend this mountain get-away!
Where do I begin? The cabin from the outside looks fantastic but wait until you get inside. As you enter the kitchen, you will find everything you need to have a nice, cozy dinner at the cabin. All of the cabinets are clearly labeled to find pots, utensils, Al foil, wine glasses, wine bottle opener, coffee cups and more! For the coffee drinkers, there is a Keurig with pods (or bring your own) and 12 cup coffee maker. This is a well-stocked kitchen. You do not have to bring anything. Stop by the Food Lion for any groceries before heading up to the cabin. If the living room is a bit cool, start the electric fireplace to warm up. There are two bedrooms, one king and queen. The beds are very comfortable, and the room is very dark for a great night's sleep. The front porch is awesome! If you are an early riser you can watch the sun come up over the smoky mountains, just gorgeous. You may see a trough below the porch. That is for the resident Tom turkey that stops by for breakfast. Cracked corn is provided in the freezer for the cabin's feathered guest's breakfast. Afterward, watch the chipmunk work away at gathering food. In the evening, start a fire in the fire pit and make some s'mores, yum. This was a very relaxing vacation and Lisa and Chuck Ware are fantastic! Thank you for sharing this beautiful cabin in the woods of the smoky mountains. It was wonderful. In conclusion, we loved our visit and will come back again. We highly recommend staying here.
After driving up the mountain (which I don't want to even think about having to do after dark), we arrived at the rustic log cabin. It was situated perfectly with a beautiful view from the porch as well as the master bedroom king size bed. All the furniture was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Host Lisa was very helpful and provided us information in a timely manner. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to connect with nature and disconnect from everything else.
A beautifully rustic cabin, a large porch with rocking chairs, a fabulous view of the mountains, rope lighting on the porch at night, a firepit with a supply of wood, a grill and a picnic table. A large number of TV channels and DVDs, an electric fireplace with many choices for flame colors, a Keurig coffee maker plus a regular coffee maker, a microwave, an air fryer, a good sized stove, even a large supply of popcorn for popping in the refrigerator/freezer, and all the dishes, utensils, and spices you might need. Comfortable beds and AC or heat as needed. All in all a wonderful place to stay! We suggest you make a reservation. You won't be disappointed. Mark & Esther
My husband and I have stayed in this cabin several times prior to Mr & Mrs Ware purchasing it. The renovations done since our last stay are wonderful. My stay here for the past few days has really helped my soul. Thank you, Lisa & Chuck!!!
This was a beautiful location to relax for a weekend. The cabin itself is charming, offering anything you might need or want, and many items we didn’t think to bring with us. The hosts are welcoming and easy to communicate with throughout the entire stay, from registering and check-in, to conversation during our stay and follow-up as we left. Loved the natural setting including the view from the front porch, the multitude of hummingbird visits, the butterflies, chipmunks, and the turkey feeding at the trough(feed provided). We would definitely come back or recommend to our friends when traveling in that area. While the road up to the cabin is nerve-racking the first time, the location was convenient to visit Cherokee and the surrounding activities and we traveled up and down everyday.
Beautiful location with fabulous views. Hosts were amazing, this cabin has everything you need. They answered every question we had. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone!!!
Yet, again, another wonderful stay at this cabin. A beautiful view and cabin. When I didn't think it could get any better, they even upgraded the kitchen since last time and got better internet! We had a great time exploring the natural wonders of the area. Thanks so much!
Great cabin. Clean and super well stocked with anything you might need. Very spoiled "pet" turkey! LOL! Road up to the cabin made the wife nervous, but worth it for the peace and tranquility. Will definitely rent it again!
The cabin is up a twisty gravelly road in a private community. It is one of the best equipped places we have ever stayed. It’s not too far from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains national park. We loved the view of the mountains from the front porch. Our host was extremely helpful and promptly answered any questions. We loved the hummingbirds and the wild turkeys which seem to call the cabin area their home. Hated to leave.
Peaceful, quiet and secluded. Just what I was looking for. Cabin is just as described.

My husband and I love Western North Carolina. We enjoy hiking, gardening and Saturday morning farmers markets in Sylva and Franklin. There is so much to do in Western North Carolina and you are surrounded by nature. This is what we've always wanted and dreamed of to live in the mountains!
Why they chose this property
We always wanted an authentic log cabin and this one is amazing due to the high quality craftsmanship of the cabin. This cabin is 'one of a kind' due to the long range mountain view and elevation at 3,600 feet. Also, the covered front porch with rocking chairs is pure serenity! If you want peace, tranquility and time to get away from it all~~then this is the cabin for you!
What makes this property unique
This cabin is special for many reasons!!! Real log cabin; Modern Blaze electric fireplace; vaulted ceilings; outside fire pit facing the mountain; backyard picnic table with grill; hiking trails from the cabin; surrounded by nature! Wild turkeys frequent the property and are very entertaining to watch from the front porch. You will not only relax at this cabin, but you will go home and want to return again and again!
