About this property

Our cozy guest house is great for families & golf!

We have a 2nd, smaller vacation rental on the property as well, so if you're in town for a family event, this is a great place to stay.

The Cottage is a cozy guest house at the back of our 2 1/2 acre country property. It has it's own private access drive from the road. Tall pine trees grace and shade the cottage's intimate, fenced garden and large dog yard. There is an abundance of trees, plant life and wildlife on and around our property. Enjoy the large, fully-stocked kitchen, watch cable on the 50'' plasma TV, soak in the large bathroom's jacuzzi tub, BBQ on the private deck, read in the flower garden, and let your dogs play in the fenced yard. Stream to your heart's content w/ the 100+mbs wifi.

Great Vacation location.

The "Cottage" in Nipomo is a great place to stay. It is clean and in a great location. Very peaceful setting, and an easy drive to the beach and other areas of interest. The owner was very welcoming.

A lovely spacious home in the country

This cottage was much larger than expected, was very comfortable, and had everything we needed. Our dog felt right at home, as did we. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Quiet Stay on the Mesa

Nice property with LOTS of room to stretch out. Big, well-appointed kitchen. Host is wonderful. Very quiet location with lots of trees, mockingbirds, European ring neck doves and two resident chickens who believe they are of royal lineage.

Lovely Home & Quiet Neighborhood

The home we stayed at was very lovely, very quiet and quite a bit of room for the two of us. We also appreciated being able to park our vehicle in the garage attached to the house. It was convenient to all of the really nice surrounding towns where there was plenty of restaurants and stores.

Excellent getaway!

Just as advertised, this was a very comfortable rental house for the two of us plus two dogs. Stayed for two months and had no issues. The surrounding area has much to offer, and the weather is very temperate. Highly recommended.

Quiet rural home

What a lovely home in a quiet rural setting! It’s very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and large rooms throughout - even a big laundry room and garage complete with a garage door opener! We loved it!

Loved Nipomo!

We have rented many VRBO properties over the years. This one was very nice and very well stocked with just about anything you might need. Our Golden Retriever felt right at home in the fenced yard and our SUV enjoyed being safe and snug in the double garage! It’s located near a Trilogy development and is very quiet. We enjoyed our stay

Not as pictured

* Ants: kitchen, living room, bathroom * Towels: moldy (Had to rewash to be able to use). * Cobwebs, spiders, dust in every room * Skylight directly over bed: owner said “she wouldn’t want that in her house” WOW okay?!? So if you enjoy sunshine directly in your eyes while you sleep pasted 6am then this is the place for you! * Washing machine: moldy * Adirondack chairs: too splintered to sit in * Yard: previous dog presents on lawn Overall a hot mess.

Peaceful countryside cottage

We (2 adults) just concluded a 10 week stay in this peaceful and comfortable cottage in a semi-rural area of Nipomo. This served as our home base while we were renovating a home we purchased nearby. The cottage was perfect for our needs - with a spacious kitchen, living room area, bedroom, two bathrooms, outside deck and two attached yards. Our labradoodle especially enjoyed the yards and viewing the chickens and rooster on the adjacent chicken coop. We greatly appreciated the hospitality of our hosts/owners who are available for assistance but also give you complete privacy. We were even treated to fresh eggs and lemons from the trees on the property! The kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room contain basic provisions (along with pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc.) which we found helpful. We also enjoyed the internet, multiple streaming services, and cable TV. We highly recommend this cottage for travelers.

A great location - away from the crowds!

A very well designed and comfortable house. It was just perfect for two of us and our dog. A large, fully fenced yard was such a treat; not having to worry about the dog getting out. The kitchen is extremely spacious and has a nice selection of basic cookware and dishes. Two outdoor sitting areas to enjoy the great weather. The house gets a great cross breeze if you open the doors/windows, it was so refreshing. If being right in the middle of the action is important to you, then this may not be the place for you. But if you want to be centrally located to everything on the central coast, yet return to a very peaceful and quiet house, then I definitely recommend this place. It sits behind the owners' house on a large property. It has its own driveway. Suzy dropped by after we arrived to bring a few items she likes to keep stocked in the house which was very kind. We stated four nights and it really felt like home - I hated to leave!

Excellent accommodation in a wonderful location

Both the dog friendly aspect and the golf accessibility were irrelevant to us however we rate this holiday accommodation in Nipomo as the best we have stayed in during any of our trips to California and the U.S.A. Despite being described as a one bedroom cottage the accommodation is very spacious and includes everything one could need. There is a large garage with internal access directly into the property, a laundry room, two shower rooms, a sunken bath, a large and comfortable bedroom, spacious living room and very well equipped kitchen. Outside is a large private decked area which is equally well positioned for sun during the day and star gazing at night. Despite sharing the site with the owner, Suzy, there is no problem with privacy as she is available to help but remains very discreet. Although relatively rural the property is only three or four minutes drive from 'Willow', a very pleasant local restaurant/delicatessen and 'Vons', the local well stocked supermarket, is only about a ten minute drive away. Pismo Beach and the village of Arroyo Grande are within easy (10-15 mins) reach while the delightful town of San Luis Obispo is only a little over half an hour to the north and whale watching trips from Morro Bay can easily be accessed within about forty minutes. To the south Santa Barbara and Ventura are a little further but not too far away down the 101 to be visited for day trips. All in all an excellent and beautifully located property which we recommend unreservedly, but please don't try and book it for next September as, if she's still there, we aim to go back...it's that good.

Nipomo Bungalow

This property is perfect for a couple or a small family. First impression - fantastic. Larger than I expected - the photos online didn't do it justice - spacious and clean. If you prefer a bit of elbow room to a small hotel room, this place is an excellent option. We were five adults (myself, my husband and our 3 adult children) coming up to Nipomo for a long week-end to attend a wedding. Only one bedroom, but two baths and great layout for separation. The sleeper sofa is firm, as is the rollaway bed, but not uncomfortable. We planned to eat some meals in and the kitchen was large and well-equipped. The coffee maker didn't work, but Suzy had a new one in place within hours. I could have used some instructions how to use the stove - I had a little trouble trying to preheat the oven - but my son was able to figure it out. We spent a bit of time on the patio where just enough shade and cool breezes kept it at a comfortable temperature even though it was hovering around 100 degrees in the sun when we were there. Beautiful mature pines out back gave off that beautiful incense-like scent. Even though the cottage is on the same property as the owner's house, it is private and quiet. The stars at night were amazing. Other than attending the wedding, we visited Hearst Castle (about an hour north) and Solvang (45 minutes south), and visited the local beaches for surfing. The location feels remote, but is very close to the 101 (3 minutes) and the center of Nipomo with restaurants and other amenities (grocery, Starbucks). We checked out Jocko's for steak - popular place, good food and very casual - definitely gives you the local flavor. I would absolutely recommend this property for comfort, convenience and all-around esthetics. Incidentally, the Dana Powers Ranch in Nipomo is a very cool wedding venue!

Two weeks of relaxation!

A little rough around the edges but very comfortable with Everything you could possibly need. Suzy the owner was very accommodating . Two large fenced in yards made it great for our pooch to run around . My wife and I really enjoyed farm life with chickens and one rooster. We would definitely rent the cottage again.

Relaxing, Quaint, and Comfortable

We enjoyed our one-month stay at the cottage so very much. The setting is rural, which we loved. Chickens, owls, and lots of trees. It was a short drive from Pismo beach (15 minutes), so we went there almost every day. There were two fenced yards for our dog with lots of space for him to run and sun bathe on the porch. We really enjoyed Nipomo as well. The local children's park has a huge, exciting play structure, and we took our dog on many walks in the Native Gardens. The cottage is so open and spacious. Plenty of room for our whole family, even though the kids slept in the living room, one a cot we brought and the other on the cottage hideaway bed. We kept our truck and all the scooters/bikes in the attached garage, so that was very convenient. Suzy was incredibly helpful with anything we needed, and even though the cottage is behind the main residence, you have plenty of space and your own entrance/driveway. You really feel like a separate residence. I worked online, and the Wifi worked perfectly. Plenty of streaming channels on the television. We had a delightful time at the Nipomo cottage and hope to return again. Thank you for a delightful stay!

Absolutely a dump

The home was not clean at all. The refrigerator looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The pantry shelves were filthy and the drawers had spider webs and many large dead bugs within them. The stove (listed as “high end” which it probably was 20 years ago) had layers of oil and grime all over. The bathtub in the master had cobwebs and dirt in it. The owner was upset when we left, accusing us of “swiping” the condiments from the refrigerator. During COVID, I would not use any opened food as who would know who had opened and used them. I have pictures to prove all of this.

Peace and quiet in the country

This was our second stay at this property and we love it. The main selling point for us is a fenced yard for our dog but we would probably stay here even without a dog. I like that it's away from the craziness of Pismo yet a short drive if you want to go there. The pictures are very accurate of the house. It has a lovely, large deck with a table and bbq grill. If you need an ocean view then this is not that house but otherwise, it has everything you could want. Perfect for a short or longer-term stay.

This was a very nice, large cottage. We loved the area.

The property was beautiful. I loved having the garage to park my car. I felt free to roam around and enjoy. It was nice having our own access to the property. It was also fun listening to the chickens in the back.

Why they chose this property

You will hear only the peeping of quail in the morning, the chirping of birds in the day, and the hooting of owls at night (and coyote howls). Warm sunny days are freshened by a gentle breeze from the pacific and fragranced by the surrounding pines and flowers.
