About this property

Unique Treehouse-Separate Space for Teens! Fire pit,WIFI,Kayak-300 yds to Lake

Relax at this charming and unique getaway in Wedowee boasting 3 inviting bedrooms with 1 queen bed and 2 king beds. The cozy space includes 2 bathrooms with showers, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. With amenities like a washing machine, kayak, gas fireplace and fire pit, hammock, 6 USB C/USB charging ports (bring cords!), porch swings, starter Keurig coffee/filters, and WiFi, guests can relax and feel right at home. Surrounded by trees, you have privacy to enjoy the numerous outdoor sitting areas. While no views of the lake, access is 300 yards away for fishing or kayaking. Bring the boat and water toys! There’s plenty of room to park a boat/trailer. The treehouse, separated by a walkway to the main house, is perfect for adults wanting a private getaway or older kids wanting to stay up playing provided games. It tends to gently sway at times, just like a real treehouse! (SAFETY NOTE- Do not let children play in the crawl spaces on the sides of treehouse. Boards are being stored there and are not nailed down, making it a falling hazard. Please note the slate walkways are slippery in the rain. Please use caution. )
This property has 3 exterior cameras with audio capabilities. One points to the entrance, one to the treehouse, and one under the treehouse area. These are for guest safety and to ensure house rules are being followed.
Please note the lake levels drop mid October through April, and the treehouse sink is disabled for winterizing from Dec-March.
We are currently hosting guests with previous VRBO stays and positive ratings. All other requests will be taken on a case by case basis and may be subject to a higher damage protection plan.

POWER OUTAGES
If there is a power outage, the water will not run as it runs on a pump. We will notify you of estimated repair time if an outage occurs.

Anniversary trip

My husband and I along with two of our friends all celebrate our anniversary on the same day. We booked this location so the guys could enjoy some fishing, we could all spend time together, and still have our own privacy. This place was so beautiful and welcoming the guys didn’t want to ever leave and us girls just wanted to get back home to see the kids! We will definitely be considering this location in the future!

Fantabulous!!

We stayed 5 nights at the ‘Tree House’. Absolutely adorable place and it was great to have the 2nd living area! We enjoyed hanging out around the fire pit in the evening and strolls down to lake. We also fell in love with a local donut/coffee/drink shop in Wedoweee - Wake and Shake - is simply awesome. Audrey is a great host and amazing interior decorator!Things to know before you go:1) The house is located in the hills, on a dirt/gravel road (very pretty area). If you are planning to drive a low clearance sports car to the house, you’ll likely scrape. 2) The lake is drawn down during the winter and early spring for maintenance. The water access from the house will be limited until the lake returns to level (I believe this is around April 1). 3) You will not be disappointed with this place!

I've lived in the Auburn area for over 30 years. I am an elementary librarian at a public school and I love welcoming people into our home. It seemed a natural fit to open our new lake property to others needing a relaxing getaway.

Why they chose this property

The town of Wedowee is very much like Mayberry from the Andy Griffith show! There are great boutique shops downtown, a winery, the Wake & Shake donut shop, and wonderful places to eat. Dollar General is up the road from this propery, and grocery stores are within a 15 minute drive. Cheaha State Park is an hour away-a great place to hike while visiting! There are hikes around this peaceful and quiet neighborhood as well.

What makes this property unique

Having the variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax is what drew us to the property, as well as the separate treehouse bedroom. All families with teens who have stayed with us shared the kids LOVED having their own space.
