About this property
Spacious Manor at New River Gorge and Outdoor Activities - Skiing, Golf, Hiking
Unwind like royalty in this Historic Manor, privately located on 6 acres, just minutes from the New River Gorge National Park. This house was built in 1921 by a Coal Baron and offers plenty of space for friends and family with 5 bedrooms and room to sleep 12. Lots of entertainment space is available with an outdoor covered porch, fire pit, and multiple rooms to hang out in.
Surrounded by towering trees, the house is located in the middle of the property on a peaceful meadow. Nearby is a world of adventure. This area is known for its amazing outdoor activities like hiking, boating, fishing, rock climbing, skiing, golfing, and more. Ace Adventures has an outdoor water park nearby, and tours of every type are readily available.
Nearby are the communities of Beckley and Fayetteville with shopping and dining aplenty. Fayetteville is regularly among the top coolest small towns in the USA and boasts eclectic shopping and iconic restaurants like The Secret Sandwich Society and Pies and Pints.
Motorcycle riders will find miles of windy, mountain roads on the way to Hawk's Nest State Park or the historic Glen Feris Inn on the Kanawha Falls. 4x4 enthusiasts can spend days exploring the many nearby trails through the ancient forests and mountains of West Virginia.
Ghost hunters can find many local areas to explore such as Lake Shawnee, the abandoned amusement park, and Thurmond, WV, an abandoned mining town, among others. West Virginia is rich in Cryptozoology lore if you want to chase the Mothman or go hunting for Sasquatch.
This house is perfect for large groups who want to gather and dine in the dining room or sip tea on the porch while the kids play in the huge, flat yard. Everyone can find their own adventure during the day then return at night to spin their tales by the firepit.
