Summer Paradise Cabin in Acadia near Long Pond

A summer paradise cabin in Acadia! Spend your days swimming or kayaking on Long Pond, hiking the trails of Acadia on the Carriage Roads, or enjoying a leisurely time in town at the local cafes. The Club House is your vibrant cabin in the woods. Experience Acadia National Park in its full summer glory!

The living room boasts large windows on two stories of the southern facing wall. Downstairs, you're enveloped by the lush forest view. Upstairs, gaze directly into the leafy canopy of the trees, with skylights welcoming even more of the summer sun.

The interior echoes a retro vibe, starting with chic metal kitchen cabinets from the 1950s and a colorful rug from the 1960s. The retro theme continues with a chrome kitchen table and lively colors throughout.

The downstairs bedroom features a single over double bunk bed, while the open bedroom upstairs offers a king-sized bed.

Located at the heart of Mount Desert Island, the Club House is a mere 10 minutes from all major attractions, including the lesser-known gems on the “quiet side” of Acadia National Park. From Bar Harbor's stunning Park Loop Road to Bass Harbor's iconic lighthouse, you're perfectly placed to explore the island's wonders. Just a short 5-minute walk away is Long Pond, the largest lake on the island, ideal for summer water activities.

Rental includes a Fully Equipped Kitchen, House Linens, Wireless Internet, Flat-screen TV, Washer/Dryer, Puzzles, and Indoor Games.

No Smoking, No Pets.

You get the whole cabin, 10 acres of woods, and all the fresh air you can breathe.

You'll need a car to access all of Acadia and the islands numerous villages but with the Club Houses central location, you'll never have to drive more than 10 min to get there.

Acadia get away

Great location to Acadia and bar harbor. Great time hiking and a scenic sunset boat ride. Long pond looked great for kayaking but ran out of time! House was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Three season screened porch was wonderful! Would definitely recommend! Host was super responsive and check in/out was very easy.

Cabin in the woods near Acadia

Our family stayed four nights in this cabin and it was wonderful. The location is beautiful, and is a short walk from the swimming area, kayak rental, and boat pull-out area of great long pond. The great room is very comfortable and the screened-in deck is a relaxing place to enjoy the sounds of the forest. The place was easy to find and private, and the beds are comfortable. It had everything our family needed as a home base for our vacation to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The biggest drawback is that there's only one bathroom, but it wasn't a big deal for 4 people. Also the loft bedroom area does get exposed to light from below. Both of these are minor and as one might expect. In general, the pleasant, spacious layout and excellent location really enhanced our family trip. We'll be looking for this place again next time we go to Acadia.

Adam and Jen have a deep love and understanding of the natural beauty surrounding the Acadia/Mount Desert Island area. Jen grew up summers on Long Pond and Adam on a 110-acre farm in Western Maine adjoining the Appalachian Trail. They met here in Bar Harbor working as sea kayak guides in the summer of 1993.

Over the years, they have hiked, biked, paddled, and sailed every conceivable route on and around Mount Desert. Adam completed his goal of hiking every trail on the Island in the summer of 1994 and Jen authored The Sea Kayaker's Guide to Mount Desert Island published by Down East Books in 1997. Together they paddled the Maine Island Trail, a 175-mile 28-day kayaking trip from Portland to Machias, up the entire Maine coastline.

In the summer of 2000, Jen and Adam started Mountain Sea Properties with a single house, Eagle Cliff, where they were married that same summer. The owner had approached them expressing her frustration renting the home through larger rental operations on the island. She complained that her house was one of hundreds represented so the service she received was minimal. She also stated that those who rented the house were not as well informed as they could be. The tenants were also one of hundreds and the service they received was minimal.

Adam and Jen offered to represent the house committing to providing top quality service to both owners and tenants by representing a limited number of houses and providing personalized vacation services.

Since then, Mountain Sea Properties has grown along with the Wales family. As year-round members of the Island’s community, Adam and Jen are dedicated to the vitality of the people of Mount Desert Island. Thus, each year they donate a portion of their proceeds to local organizations devoted to sustaining the beauty and well-being of the Mount Desert Island area.
