The cottage style house located on Daniel’s Pond is the perfect place for family and friends to gather. The living area is open to the kitchen where you can be preparing meals at the island and look out onto the water. Open the double patio doors to the enclosed porch and listen to the loons call. Enjoy your meals at the large dinning room table. You can have your coffee on the porch swing or small bistro table or gather at the picnic table by the shore, whatever your mood, or raise a glass while sitting on the dock enjoying the sunset.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and cooking utensils. All spices, herbs, flour, and sugars are stocked as well. Linens are provided as well as laundry, dish and dishwasher soaps. The pantry cupboard has ziplock bags, foil, Saran Wrap and garbage bags on hand.
The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds with lamps overhead for reading as well as small dresser. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is fully stocked with towels and soaps. The new shower has an adjustable shower head and the shower walls have grab bars and built in seat.

Last year we put in a new dock which has ample room for two Adirondack chairs to watch the loons or catch the sunsets. There is a canoe, two paddle boards and two kayaks to paddle around the pond. There is a volleyball net and badminton set for kids and adults to challenge each other. Life jackets for all sizes are also on hand. At the end of the day, enjoy a campfire by the shore with s’mores.
We are 32 miles away from the Canadian border so pack your passport if you wish to venture into Canada. Montreal is less than two hours away. Vermont has been my home for almost my whole life. I now split my time though from Vermont to Florida as I no longer enjoy our cold winters but I call Vermont home. Over 18 years ago, my husband I decided it was time to build our house on the pond to replace the rustic cabin that we had on the property. We proudly worked on the build every summer and fall for over four years. We did it all and took great pride in our project. We wanted a place where family and friends could gather and be comfortable, where the grandkids could be rocked on the swing, where songs could be sung around a campfire and where they could come gather together every summer.
I have always loved entertaining, and the house works perfectly with that in mind. You can be cooking or working at the kitchen island and still be in the midst of everything. The open concept works well with that. It is the perfect space to gather, easy to maintain, not formal, just very comfortable. It is a house that lends itself well to guest and since we have rented it out, guest always comment on the ease and comfort of the house.

Why they chose this property

The first time I saw the pond I knew it was where I wanted to be. The pond is approximately 86 acres big and has an abundant wildlife population. We have loons that return every year, ducks, Canadian geese, two blue herons and a couple of bald eagles that fly around. Otters, minks and beaver make their appearance as well. The pond is not deep, approximately 18 feet deep and has perch, bass, and sunfish. It’s great for the kids fishing off the dock. We have lots of poles and lures for their use. Since no motor boats or jet skis are allowed on the pond it is quiet and perfect for paddling around to spy on the birds in their habitats.
It is a place to enjoy nature and to unwind and that is what lured us to make it ours.

What makes this property unique

One of the two best features of the house is the screened in front porch. No worries of mosquitoes at night while the LED string lights are on. You can swing on the porch swing, rock in the rocker and not worry about bugs biting. There is ample space on the porch for gathering. Use the bistro table for breakfast, or the antique wooden chairs for reading all without having to step outside. For larger gatherings there is a wrought iron table that seats six next to the shore. A large fire pit with wood pile close at hand is perfect for those campfire gatherings.
My second best feature are the gardens that wrap around the house. There are many varieties of flowers, shrubs and herbs. All waiting to be put into arrangements or used in cooking. The flowers bring the humming birds and bees which are fun to watch.
