KACEE'S RETREAT IS A SATURDAY RENTAL

KACEE'S is perfect for larger families or groups! Just steps from the ocean, it features 3 decks, a six person hot tub, outdoor shower with hot and cold water, charcoal grill, fish cleaning table, wireless internet, off street parking, and much more. The 1st floor, with 2 bedrooms connected by a full bath, is perfect for children. Each bedroom has a pyramid bunk and a 32" flat screen TV. There are floor fans in both bedrooms. The 1st floor also has a beverage cooler and extra ice maker in the hall. The 2nd floor features 2 queen bedrooms connected by a full bath, and a master bedroom with a king bed and a full bath. All three bedrooms have 32" flat screen TVs. The bedrooms on this floor have ceiling fans and all of the bedrooms feature large closets. We supply bed linens which will be left on each bed for you. The washer, dryer, and an extra refrigerator are also located on the 2nd floor. An ironing board and iron are stored in the hall closet. On the top floor, you'll find the living area with a big screen Roku TV. The large dining table seats 8 with additional seating for 4 at the bar. The kitchen has plenty of counter space and storage, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, and toaster oven. It's well stocked with a coffee maker, Keurig, electric can opener, blender, crock pot, hand mixer, electric griddle, 2 sets of dishes, and plenty of pots and pans. The half bath is also located on this floor. The top deck, opening off the dining/living area, has a table and chairs for 4 and 2 lounges. If you're an early riser, have your morning coffee and watch the gorgeous sunrise over the ocean. Relax in the evening and watch the reflection of the setting sun on the water and the moon rise. Most days you can see dolphins and the brown pelicans are usually out diving for fish. The hot tub is located on the lower deck, with access from 2 of the bedrooms, including the master bedroom. This deck also offers an unobstructed view of the ocean. Just across Rt. 12, within walking distance, is a convenience store and a very nice little surf shop that offers surf lessons. The major grocery store on the island, Food Lion, is about 17 miles south in Avon.

Very happy we picked KaCee’s Retreat.

The home is very spacious, clean and the location by the water was perfect. We saw dolphins at night, beautiful sunsets from the deck and so many things to do in the surrounding area.

Best House Ever

We have been going to OBX for 25 + years and this house was absolutely the best house. This house met and exceeded our expectations. Plenty of room for everyone, close to the beach, very clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay in this house again. Response from the owners was exceptional on anything. Thank you, Dan and Mary for sharing your home and allowing us to have a great vacation.

We had such a fabulous stay. The weather was great and the house was very comfortable with lots of room for our big family of 6! We loved the decks and hot tub was relaxing. The dog hair could have been cleaned up a little better but overall cleanliness was great! Beds were very comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Perfect location for family relaxation and fun. Quiet street, beautiful beach, perfect home

We celebrated our annual family vacation at this perfect location in the NC Outer Banks. Central to many attractions, but secluded enough to avoid crowded roads noise. Our parents celebrated 56 years of marriage during our stay. The house was perfect, we cooked, laughed, played games on the deck and enjoyed the hot tub. Will definitely visit again. Thank you for a perfect week with family.

Over all it was exactly as listed. Semi-oceanfront home with nice views and plenty of room for multiple families. We enjoyed our stay for the week. Would stay again. Although FYI house is now brown and not the green in the pictures. At first we thought we had the wrong home!

A perfect week at the beach

We just returned from a wonderful week at Kaycee's Retreat. We appreciated the way Mary responded so quickly to our questions! The home was lovely...spacious, comfy, well-stocked, and accurately described on the website. Each day we took long walks on the deserted beach, enjoying sunrises, sunsets, and watching the dolphins play in the surf. It was a wonderful week and Kaycee's Retreat was the perfect place to spend Christmas with our family!

Great house and perfect location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at KaCee's Retreat. The layout of the house was perfect for my whole family that included our four-legged kids as well. The house had everything we needed. Even though it's not directly on the beach, the proximity worked for us... you're just steps away from the beautiful sand and surf! Mary was so easy to work with, always very quick to answer any question that I had. Mary, many thanks for letting us make memories at your home in Rodanthe!

Great Fall Beach Getaway!

We had such a wonderful time here. We love the house and its location and the views from the decks, access to the hot tub, extra fridge and ice machine, having the gas station and convenience store so close, great fishing opportunities nearby, a sweet little playground for our daughter to play at a stones throw away, decent restaurants within an easy driving distance and a quick walk to the beach. Mary was lovely to work with through the entire process. We’ve been coming to the Outer Banks for a very long time, and it’s always been our preference to try a new property and explore a new town, but after staying here, we’ve already rebooked for next year! We’re already counting the days until our family can return to Rodanthe and Kacee’s Retreat!

Great for a family get together

We stayed at this lovely beach house back in June. It was grandparents, three adult children, their partners and three children. The layout of the house was great for spending time together or taking a break from the beach in our rooms. We so enjoyed the proximity to the water and sometimes some of us would stay back at the house and watch the others flying kites or playing at the beach from the deck. The hot tub was a fun way to end the day and the big porches in general were great. Further, the day we left to all make our long drives home, my father left a watch in the house (a meaningful and costly watch). The owners went above and beyond helping us get the watch back to my father and that was quite a relief. It allowed us to end our great vacation week on a happy note!

Fabulous semi-oceanfront, fully stocked home! Absolutely loved it, didn't want to leave.

All 12 of us had a wonderful week at KaCee's Retreat. This is our fourth year returning to OBX, trying different homes and locations each time. After staying at Kacee's Retreat, we may have found the home that we would love to return to! The home was amazing - well kept home, very clean and fully stocked kitchen. An absolute plus for this home is the second refrigerator, the beverage cooler and additional ice maker. Enjoyed many mornings eating breakfast on the upper deck. The views from each of the windows was beautiful. We were very impressed with the home and it's proximity to the beach. Mary was wonderful to work with in setting up our vacation arrangements. Wonderful little house!

This house was a great little get away. The pen for the dogs was an amazing find! It definitely helped with the rainy days where it would’ve been a pain to walk the dogs. The area itself had a lot of things closed, which was expected for it not being “in season”, so we had to travel about 25 miles in either direction for town fun. The short walk to the beach was excellent! Fair warning that the kitchen/living area is on the tippy top level which was probably my mistake not reading the layout.. so if you have someone with difficulty with stairs keep this in mind. Also there is no garbage disposal so be careful so you don’t clog the sink! Over all I really enjoyed our week. The beds were SO COMFY which is always a plus!! Can’t go wrong with a good beach house on the beach that allows dogs!

Wonderful Place to Stay

I can't say enough about this property and the owners. This is not just rental property, it is clear that the owners really care about this place and have remodeled and taken care of it. We just rented a week there and would definitely stay again. Once you stay here, there's no need to go any further. The location is perfect, so close to the beach. You can sit in the sun or in the shade on one of the three porches, 2 covered, and just relax. When we arrived, the home was spotless and within a hour we received a call from Shore Details asking us if everything was okay and if we needed anything. Wow ! The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you could possibly need, even crock pots. When I needed to speak to the owner, she answered my e-mail within minutes and Shore Details was there within 15 minutes. That is FANTASTIC service for a beach home as far as I'm concerned. Don't hesitate to rent this home. Mary is wonderful to work with, very responsive, and the addition of Shore Details as the management company definitely makes a difference. The beach is beautiful and the home is beautiful and CLEAN. We had a wonderful stay ad KaCee's Retreat. The home is just as described. You can't go wrong. The pictures don't do it justice, it's so much nicer in person. There a great restaurant less than a mile down the road - Good Winds, we ate there twice it was so good and there are fantastic sunset views from their back porch. Thank you, Mary, for sharing your wonderful beach house with us for a week. We really enjoyed it.

Beautiful Property

Mary was so nice and had excellent communication through the booking process. She gives detailed instructions and tips. The property was so beautiful. We had a great view of the ocean. The dog run for this home is AWESOME. It was so nice not to have to go out in the rain to let our pups potty. The home is more than well equipped. In fact, it had 2 refigerators, a wine cooler and an ice maker. Super cool. Hot tub looked inviting but we didn’t use due to the cold weather. We saw porpoises popping out of the water on one of the days there. I really enjoyed listening to the sounds of the waves each night. I really appreciated that each of the rooms had different mattress styles. My husband was a big fan of the master but I enjoyed the memory mattress in one of the guest bedrooms more so I made a switch mid trip. We walked over to the convenience store just across the way several times for snacks. There was even a Filipino food truck there during the weekdays. Yummy! Kacee’s Retreat certainly offers something for everyone. Don’t hesitate to book this one!

Great house and location!

We absolutely loved Kacee’s retreat! Great house and amazing location! The owners were very nice and easy to contact. Perfect for a family or a group of friends. Rodanthe is such a cute little quiet town. The beach was great, the view from the deck was gorgeous! It was our first time in The OBX and we definitely will be back!

Great family spot

My wife, daughters (8 and 3), parents, dog, and I loved our week at KayCee’s. The home was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with an unbeatable location just steps from the beach and gorgeous ocean views. Mary made the check-in/out process and communications very smooth. The location was private and quiet—you truly feel off the beaten path. The beach wasn’t crowded, though it was narrow and the steep drop off and rough waters made swimming a little tougher for our kids than some other beaches (we typically go to NJ). The kitchen was well-stocked and there were a handful of good dining options within 10-15 minutes, but many more options are 30+ minutes away. Not an issue for us as we cooked most nights and appreciated being away from the crowds at more populous Outer Banks towns. Overall it was a great stay and we’d highly recommend it to others (especially if you have a dog!).

Location was fabulous. We had an age group from 2yrs-83yrs old and this house was perfect for all. The kItchen was well stocked with all the needed necessities. The owners provided great info of surrounding area prior to checkin and were very responsive to any of our questions.

Wonderful Week!

We had such a great week. The ocean and beach views were wonderful from both decks and the beach access was near by. The built in safety gates and second fridge were very handy to have. The home was nice and clean and the check in and out process was easy and went smoothly. I now have a new favorite house to stay in for future our vacations in Rodanthe.

My husband, Danny, and I have lived in the same small town in Delaware all our lives. We share our home with our two chocolate labs, Remi and Flash, and a calico cat, Callie. Our 2 children and 5 grandchildren live nearby.

Why they chose this property

KaCee's Retreat is our dream come true! We love to spend time here with our children, grandchildren, and chocolate labs. We first vacationed on Hatteras Island about 15 years ago and instantly fell in love with the area. When we stayed in Rodanthe 12 years ago, we knew we had found the perfect vacation spot! We decided to take the leap and make our dream of owning a beach house a reality. We sincerely hope that our guests enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of Hatteras Island as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

We love that KaCee's Retreat is so close to the beach and has fantastic views of the ocean. With our large family, the 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms are a big plus! Our favorite things to do are walking on the beach looking for unusual shells and sea glass, and just relaxing and watching the ever-changing ocean.
