Our rustic, Brookside cabin with its old-world charm, consists of 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom with wonderful Adirondack décor and king size bed is adjacent to a huge master bathroom , cathedral ceilings , sunken tub overlooking the brook , free standing shower , antique trimmings . Also adjacent to master bedroom is a charming library with views of colorful flowers in spring/summer and Christmas trees in winter . A pull out couch that sleeps 2 . The second bedroom consists of 2 queen size beds. Adjacent to this is another bathroom completely renovated with high ceilings, large shower and antique trimmings. Complete kitchen with vaulted pine ceilings,*Just renovated ..sub zero refrigeration under counter.. quartz counter top ..state of the art appliances with beautiful views of the brook ** The third bathroom sits adjacent to the kitchen with full bath amenities. The washer and dryer is also adjacent to the kitchen wrap around large windows with virws of the brook .Dining room offers a full view of the brook through wall to wall windows, cathedral ceilings with pine and bark and a 12 foot long antique table to enjoy your Brookside dinning. The Great Room is a charming, cozy, romantic and relaxing place with a large stone fireplace, velvet couch, Indian blankets and comfortable chairs. Huge deck facing Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid is partially screened in and a cozy place to sit allowing you to enjoy sounds of the babbling brook and scenic views in any weather.

Peaceful and serene week!

Cheryl - Andy, myself and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brookside. We felt safe, cozy and relaxed the entire week we were there. The spaciousness of the cottage is even more than we expected based on the pictures and we were delighted with the big master suite and bathroom! The dogs enjoyed their time and we did lots of hiking in the area (so many hiking trails and so little time!) The town of Lake Placid is just 5 minutes away and we found no issues with finding a good restaurant to visit or with parking. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we hope you will have us back again one day! Rob C.

Spring wedding prep at the beautiful Whiteface Club

A mountain cabin to delight all

This second trip to Brookside was just as lovely as last year. This is a top-notch place with majestic mountains and lakes all around you. Inside Brookside you will find rustic furniture and walls, a beautiful working kitchen with all you would need. I am a linen freak and often bring my own, but Brookside has the most luxurious towels and sheets that I have ever found in any of my rentals. With it's 10 minute proximity to anywhere you might want to go, it is an easy choose to pick this cozy, comfortable cabin. I'd do it again. P.S. you'll love the fireplace!

Cozy Cabin

We spent 3 night at the Brookside Cabin and hope to return. We love staying at the Whiteface Club because it is an easy drive to town but we like being away from the hustle. We also enjoy the short walk to the Lake Placid Lodge to grab a drink at the bar there. The cabin was comfortable and well appointed. We really liked that the cabin was not decorated in the cookie cutter style of so many LP places. Plenty of towels, comfortable beds, etc. All the touches you want. Amazing views, lots of light and windows. The fireplace and firewood were probably our favorite feature. A cozy fire, that amazing smell of wood burning while you watch the snow fall - like spending time in snow globe! So perfect. As expected, it was snowy and icy in January in LP. The steps to the hours are stone and uneven (would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues) and they were icy. We called the property manager and they had it sanded within the hour and left more salt for us to add as needed. Super responsive! Just what you need in inclement weather. Our only suggestion would be to improve check-in/check-out. We had to go downtown to pick up/drop off the key. We rent VRBO a lot and most places now have lock boxes on property or coded keypads which make things significantly easier. We hope to return to this cozy, charming cabin. It was LP perfection!

This home is beautiful and welcoming!

Went with our family, and dog, for our daughter's wedding in Lake Placid. This home was perfect for us, well- located on the site, next to a brook with lots of trees and great views from the windows. The rooms are big and the furniture is extremely comfortable with plenty of places to sprawl for all of us. The refrigerator was unexpected: 2 sets of drawers (including a freezer) and a beverage fridge- but functioned very well for our needs. Firewood was available on the porch for us to use. We'd happily stay at Brookside again!

Perfect lake placid getaway

This location is ideal…close to town but right by the white face facilities… the cabin was cozy and absolutely perfect for our family of 5 and our dog.. the wood burning fireplace in the living room was amazing ..we absolutely loved everything about it and will definitely be returning !!! We can’t wait to stay there and enjoy the amenities in the summer …it is right next the the golf course !

Great location

We needed overflow lodging for family for my daughters wedding at the Lake Placid Lodge. Location was walking distance so it was very convenient. Not so convenient is having to pick up and return the keys downtown, which we were not aware of until a few days before. While the real estate agent was extremely nice and helpful, a coded lock box like we had at 2 other properties makes more sense, especially with guests arriving at later hours and having to share keys. Other than that, our family was very comfortable at Brookside.

Perfect home base for family vacation

Our family of four adults – parents and sons – spent a week at Brookside in mid-September. Our last family vacations were pre-Covid, in Italy and in Spain. Now we wanted to find a house we could drive to, in a new location (to us) where each of us could follow our interests, and where we could bring our 15-year-old, very well-behaved dog. We were not disappointed! Brookside was perfect for us. It is located in a lovely wooded resort neighborhood and, while not directly on Lake Placid, we could walk down near the water. We found the house to be very clean and neat, with casual and comfy Adirondack décor. Good wifi. The kitchen has high quality appliances and plenty of equipment, dishes, utensils, and linens. The bedrooms are large, with comfortable beds and woodsy linens. There are three full bathrooms. The master bath is exceptional: huge with a lovely wooded view from the tub. Brookside was a perfect location as a home base for our family. Fly fishing and golf were favored activities. Restaurant recommendations were excellent. The proximity of the house to the town of Lake Placid was convenient, as we took advantage of nearby restaurants, shops, and huge grocery store nearby. We loved the Lake Placid area, Brookside was a perfect fit for us, and we would definitely go back again.

Roomy cabin

Liked the separate bedrooms-considered it 2 masters. Uncertain what we could do on the property as it was part of a golf course community but since we were going there for a sporting event I never researched. So check before you go. There were restaurants on site. There is a trailhead/hike a close walk from the cabin. Had a nice stay. Relaxing place.

Lovely stay!

Such a beautiful home! This was our third time staying at Brookside Cottage and it is even lovelier than our last visit. Cheryl has made gorgeous improvements and the location is perfect for sailing, tennis, fishing, golf and dinners at the Lake Placid Lodge. We highly recommend staying at this lovely home.

Absolutely perfect! Love everything about this cottage. From the layout, the decor, location, porch, partial view of the lake, to all of the little details that make this cottage so special and comfortable. Had everything we needed and more. Love the convenience of having the marina right down the way to rent kayaks and eating at the Boathouse. We usually stay at Whiteface Club & Resort properties and Brookside is perfection. Better Than The Pictures

I don't know where to start, this sweet, cozy cabin in the snowy woods was one of the only times I've entered and found the place more beautiful than the pictures. It's comfort, views and sound of the babbling brook made us feel like we were in a Hollywood movie. The special detail the owner takes in its decorating, and quality of furnishings and linens is just worth the stay. The lane it is situated on is so quiet you sleep like you haven't slept in a long time. It is only a ten-minute drive to Main Street Lake Placid, but far enough away from all the hub bub. The community it is in, is like a "Winter Wonderland". The walkway and deck get shoveled for you every day. There is a clubhouse a stone's throw away with fabulous cocktails and food. There is snow shoeing and cross-country skiing right here at your doorstep. The fireplace was amazing and there is always plenty of wood for it stacked neatly on the screened in porch. If you just want to enjoy a real winter getaway, to do everything or nothing, this is the place for you. Patti & Doug with Trixie our doggie

Highly recommend Brookside. Fabulous place and location!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Brookside. The accommodations exceeded our expectations and the location and views are hard to beat. Pictures online don’t convey just how beautiful this place really is. Cheryl (the host) was extremely accommodating and responsive. Brookside’s furnishings and style look like they came straight out of a magazine! Highly recommend Brookside and will definitely stay there again.

Wedding Weekend in Lake Placid

My Fiance and I stayed at the Brookside Cabin for our wedding weekend at The WFC. We really needed a quiet place to get away from all the action, and remain stress free. This was the best possible location to do so, located right off a little brooke, tucked away in a quiet corner of the resort. It's a very short walk to The Moose Lodge / Marina and from the gold course. It's very comfortable, and allowed us to "check out of reality" when we really needed to. We hope to return to Brookside to continue the memory we had the opportunity to create this past week.

Our sixth stay!

We keep coming back to Brookside cottage because it has all the amenities we need, is comfortable, clean and beautifully situated in the Whiteface club and resort. We especially love access to the lake and the nearby hiking trails. it is very quiet, but close to the bustling main street if we want to go. It's the best of both worlds! Cheryl is a fantastic host and has always checked in with us to make sure we are all set. She has taken great care of the property over the years, too, making numerous improvements.

Our amazing stay at the BrookSide House in lake placid.

We loved this house. It was an amazing house to stay in . it was in a great location and very close to lake placid village. The house had everything we needed. Great configuration with the bedrooms so spacious and private. Loved having 3 beautiful bathrooms. Beautiful scenery right by Whiteface mountain and lake placid. All I can say is we loved our stay at the BrookSide house and will definitely come back and rent this house again.

Spring Break at Brookside

We wanted to go away during our children's spring break and bring our year old adopted puppy. Brookside was the perfect choice. The location is ideal and the house is beautiful. We highly recommend Brookside and would love to come back, especially when there isn't a foot of snow. We brought plenty of board games and snow gear in preparation.

Wonderful week vacation at the BrookSide House

Loved staying at the BrookSide House. A most beautiful home. Loved the configuration of the home . The bedrooms were totally separated from each other giving lots of privacy. Beautifully decorated. A very cozy home . It was so clean and well stocked. Had everything we needed. The house was in a lovely area with beautiful Lake Placid and White Face Mountain surrounding us. We loved how close it was to Lake Placid village. We are looking forward to coming back and spending many more vacations at the BrookSide House .

Wonderful cottage in a great location

What a wonderful place for a winter getaway! Brookside cottage was cozy, comfortable and filled with everything we needed. We loved the view of the stream, the gorgeous bathtub with a view, and the rambling spaciousness of the cottage. We appreciated that everything was immaculate when we arrived. We loved skiing at Whiteface, cross country skiing at the Whiteface Club and all the great things Lake Placid has to offer. This cottage is in such a convenient location for all of this. Winter getaway

We enjoyed a great long weekend. The cabin was spacious and perfectly furnished for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. The location was ideal for all our winter activities and the grounds around the cabin were also fun to explore. We hope to return to Lake Placid to enjoy other activities in the summer/fall and would definitely like to return to the Brookside cabin for another stay.

I am a resident and native of Staten Island, NY. I am 3rd generation in a family business that was started by my grandfather in 1929 after he immigrated to the US. Back in those days he created every block by hand. We currently specialize in mason and building materials. I have been renting Brookside for 25 years and have done many improvements over the years. My tenants are extremely pleased and I have many returning renters. I take pride in giving each tenant complete attention and strive to help them have the best vacation possible.

Why they chose this property

I’d like to tell you about my first experience as a potential buyer of Brookside. I arrived during the night and settled into the cozy cabin with no knowledge of the spectacular impressions I would receive the next morning. I awoke to the beautiful sounds of the babbling brook, which I hadn’t heard when I first arrived. I then went outside to the gorgeous wrap around deck I looked at the beautiful Whiteface Mountain and the picturesque Lake Placid while drinking my morning coffee. As I relaxed next to a warm fire I immediately fell in love. Following my lovely morning I explored the area and saw nature at its best. Just 5 minutes away I enjoyed the cozy village of Lake Placid where I antiqued, shopped at boutiques, dined on the lake and enjoyed a fifty cent popcorn at the historic cinema. I decided then and there this was the place and the property for me.
