About this property
Escape and Relax; Steps Away from Lake Michigan
Our newly built home nestled in the woods is on a private drive. Five minutes walking distance to the private beach is Grand Traverse Bay where you can relax, swim or awe at the spectacular sunsets.
The surrounding towns/cities are charming and friendly offering a wide variety of options should you wish to venture away from the house. Just to name a few... Charlevoix has its Farmers Market, Venetian Festival and Candlelight Hike; Elk Rapids: Evening on River Street, Harbor Days and its Farmers Market and Bellaire: Music in the Streets, Rubber Ducky Festival & Parade and Harvest Festival. Our Welcome Binder lists other suggestions for art galleries, boating, skiing, U-pick orchards, golf, hiking, wineries/breweries/distilleries and of course, restaurants.
Our home is centrally located between Charlevoix and Elk Rapids (20 minutes in either direction) and is just minutes away from a general store (Eastport Market) and Torch Lake.
It features a great room with living room, dining and a fully equipped kitchen. This open concept also features large windows that not only provide for natural light but unobstructed views of nature, most often the deer as they come by to grass. There are no fences.
There are blackout curtains in both bedrooms, extra blankets and pillows as well as dressers and ample closet space. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers, bidet toilets and are stocked with basic amenities: shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Additionally, you have a full laundry room with detergent and fabric softener and a two car garage. As mentioned, this is a newly built house with construction completed last fall. The pictures show a large covered front porch and rear deck which will be furnished spring of 2025. The house has central heat and air conditioning and should it be necessary, it is connected to a whole house generator that kicks in automatically in the event of a power outage. Lastly, we have fiber optic Wi-Fi.
In addition to local markets, Family Fare has several markets in the area but you can have groceries delivered to the house during your stay or just prior to arrival through StockedUp.com.
You have full access of the house plus all the amenities and conveniences found inside except for the locked storage shed that is in the garage.
In the kitchen help yourself to any foods left by your hosts or previous guests.
The home is located in Timberlane Terrace, a private community on a private dirt road. Some of the homeowners live here year-round. Other homeowners have vacation rentals here and for still others, it is their seasonal get-a-way retreat.
In the winter season the road and driveway are plowed but we still recommend a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle.

About the host
Hosted by Roman Zabicki

My wife and I live in CA, just outside Yosemite National Park. We're originally from Detroit and built this house as a summer get-a-way to reconnect with family and friends.
We have owned our own business (restaurant and wedding cakes & flowers) and as such know how important customer service is.

Why they chose this property
We basically drove the entire coast of Michigan looking for some place to buy our retirement home. We fell in love with this area when we first spotted it and every visit reinforces that we made the right decision.
What makes this property unique
Our house is quaint, charming and comfortable. It's on a rural road, nestled in the woods offering a serene and peaceful setting and right across the road is Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan where the sunsets are spectacular. We're 45 minutes north of Traverse City, 20 minutes south of Charlevoix.
