About this property
Cozy Newport Studio, steps to Cliff Walk, Beaches & Downtown
+PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING before booking and ALL pre/post check in/out info after. Thank you.
Hello! This is a perfect little weekend getaway spot for two adults. You will be in walking distance to downtown, the Wednesday Farmer's Market, Salve, Cliff Walk, Mansions, Easton's Beach, a grocery store, coffee shops, and a pharmacy.
We are an owner-occupied multi-generational Newporter (+ 1 dog from Tennessee) home. LGBTQ+ friendly. We know the vegan spots if you need them. All are welcome!
We are currently trying to defect from that other rental site after 3 years, but if you'd like to read reviews, you can find them here: https://bit.ly/3Q6w6JP
The space:
Small Bedroom, 1/2 Bathroom, Kitchenette, and den with private entry from our front porch.
The rental is 2 rooms in total, not the entire house. This was an efficiency apartment when my grandparents bought the place in 1959. My Nana has always called that little bathroom "The Lavette." <3
There are basic kitchen supplies (salt, pepper, utensils, but nothing for actually cooking, as it's just not ideal in this small space)
Air conditioner in the bedroom only
*Please note that the bedroom & kitchen area are in the same room. Some folks have somehow been unable to see this in the photographs we've posted.
Guest access:
There is free, on-street parking, although we are on a through street & it can get a little dicey in the summer. PLEASE tuck your side view mirror in. It's a mostly quiet neighborhood (again, summer=congested). If you enjoy walking, you won't have to use your car much if at all during your stay. We are close to so many things.
We ask that you be respectful of our neighbors.
Other things to note
ACCOMMODATIONS: Let us know if you plan to use the sofa bed so we can be sure to have it made up for you.
GUESTS: We ask that you do not have guests other than yourself and/or travel partner. Children *can* be accommodated but this is a small space and I don't recommend it.
SMOKING: This is a non-smoking household. There is no smoking in the rental or on the property.
NOISE: Music flows RIGHT THROUGH this house, and I have very early work hours, so please keep music/noise at a reasonable volume.
We try to be as quiet as possible while hosting guests but we do live in the house. It's possible you might hear the washing machine or the dog, or teen laughter. I dunno. If you are here during the weekdays M/Tue: you will likely hear the children and I getting ready for school/work in the morning.
TV: The TV we have is a new-fangled smart tv with sign in access ONLY (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). It doesn't pick-up any local channels, so if TV is a big deal to you and you have no sign-in access to anything, maybe book elsewhere. I dunno, we got a negative review for not having cable so now I feel like I have to mention this ultimately stupid detail.

About the host
Hosted by Taryn Mazza

I live here with my two teenage boys, my mother, our dog Lemon, and our cat Penguin. I work for a local non-profit and am an energy worker.
Why they chose this property
I basically grew up in this neighborhood. This house belonged to my grandparents, my mother grew up here and now my two boys are as well. I love that it's walkable for things from errands to sightseeing. It's a special spot.
What makes this property unique
A lot of people who stay here love the walkability. I can't tell you how many guests have said "We haven't used the car once!" It's a nice neighborhood that's quiet but close so much.
