We’d love to stay at this house again—very clean and plenty of space for our group of 5 families. The house is incredibly well stocked and conveniently located for skiing!
Excellent home, lots of space, extra towels and blankets. Right across the highway from the ski area with a free shuttle to get to and from the resort. Nick the property manager was awesome. Highly recommend and would stay again!
Our family had a great Christmas at this beautiful house! There was plenty of space for everyone and having six bathrooms was wonderful. The property manager was very helpful and even had a fire going when we checked in. The only issue we had was trying to get in touch with the owner, before we signed the contract. We had several questions to ask and had to go through VRBO in order to get in touch with him. Other than that, this property was a perfect choice for our family’s Christmas!
The house is very well equipped. Plenty of linens, kitchen stuff, and toys and games galore. The property Manager, Nick, was terrific. Very responsive to questions and happy to help. Only minor issue was you need to bring your own soaps for showers. I would have given 5 stars for cleanliness but a couple of showers had some pretty good sized hair balls in them and the dishwasher had not been run and unloaded. It’s a big place and I can see how it would be easy to miss one or two little things. I would happily come again. The shuttle service to Purgatory was speedy and always quick to get to the house.
We had a large group staying here and it was extremely accommodating. The home has everything you need! We used the shuttle everyday to/from the slopes. We used the kitchen to cook for our large group each night. One thing to remember is to bring toilet paper and toiletries - instructions do remind you of this - but we had to go back in town to grab some. We will be back!
This home was a perfect fit for our family of 14. We had plenty of space to stretch out yet very functional from a dining area large enough for all of us to eat meals together to having double washer/dryers for doing laundry and bathrooms for every family plus a couple of extras for the kids to use.
For some reason we failed to get advanced information for check in but after leaving a voice message for Mike and contact with Vrbo we got the information shortly before check in. Even though the attachment was in Word on my phone app of word it came out messed up and a little hard to get all the information clearly until later opened in pages.
Nick was very responsive when notified of the missing garage door opener and some concerns with the living room outlets. He was able to notify the owner and get an electrician out in a timely manner
The views were magnificent. We use our sled with the younger kids out the back and they also loved that someone had built a snow/ice cave in the front yard!
There were plenty of toys that appealed to every age and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The ski shuttle was excellent.
This house/setup was amazing for our group of 16. Ages 3-60. Kitchen was very well stocked with pots/pans/tools. Shuttle was super easy and quick to get to the resort. Mike and the caretaker Nick were very helpful and easy to work with. Definitely recommend it to any large group looking for some fun near Durango
This property was perfect for our Christmas vacation. Home was beautiful and met our needs with sleeping arrangements. Kitchen was stocked. Loved the double washer and dryer. Nick was very helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
We had 3 families stay with age ranging from 60's to 6. There were 11 people and the house accommodated all old us very well. The Ground keeper, Nick, was super helpful. We had a great time!
Fantastic property for large family gathering and ski adventure! Plenty of space: bathrooms and bedrooms allowed for privacy, plenty of communal gathering space, pool table and video game center for evening fun, fireplace/tv in great room for cozy quiet time, huge well equipped kitchen. Resort valet shuttle to slopes a wonderful convenience!
We had the best vacation to Durango and loved the house it was perfect in all ways. The house was very clean and equipped with everything you need. The shuttle service was amazing and so convenient. The communication with Mike was so easy and always responded so quickly. Caretaker Nick was awesome, there is not enough words to see just how amazing and helpful he was the entire time we were there. He gave us suggestions on things to do and helped get us in contact with Cowboy Sean for our beautiful horse sled ride. He suggested the Durango Hot Springs which was a relaxing unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this home.
We had a group of 10. we had plenty of room. Divided well for multiple families. Lots of common areas. Very handy to skiing with resort shuttle pick up at house and drop-off in valet circle. So no parking and hiking. Thanks for the great family memories!
Wonderful, beautiful, large house across from the entrance to Purgatory. LOTS of room in house. Close to great hiking trails. Beautiful area.

Couldn't ask for anything better
My family (and 4 other families from church) spent Spring Break in this beautiful home. This was my first VRBO experience and I admit to being a little nervous that everything would work out. As soon as I pulled up to the house and went inside all of my worries went away. The home was all that we could have hoped for and then some. Other than food, everything was supplied. The kitchen was huge and had everything you could ever need. All of the kitchenware and appliances were top notch. On the back porch there is even a built in gas grill. The pool table and video games kept everyone entertained in the evenings. Having 2 washers and dryers meant that everyone didn’t have to go home with suitcases full of dirty clothes. The shuttle service to and from the mountain was great. Being picked up and dropped off at the front door is way better than dealing with the parking lot. Nick the caretaker was really nice and even came to take a group picture for us. The fact that before the week was over we were already discussing a return trip next Spring Break says it all.

Beautiful, roomy, and comfortable home!
Our family of 16 just celebrated Christmas in this beautiful home. Five family members were unable to attend but there was plenty of room if they had. Our large family of 21 vacations together every year and we always rent a large home. This one is our new favorite! It is beautiful, roomy, and comfortable. It also provided everything we needed to have an enjoyable experience! Nik was very helpful and good to provide assistance and answer any question we had. We will definitely return! Thanks to Mike also for helping me through the rental process.

Wonderful Durango house
Our large party of 6 adults and 10 kids just stayed at this house for Spring Break, and it was perfect. Plenty of space for our party of 16, minutes away from Purgatory ski resort with free shuttle service. Loved the big kitchen, dining & living rooms, & game room, huge mudroom for all of our ski gear, double washers/dryers, 2 frigs, plenty of towels, great fireplace. One of the best things about the house is that it's located on a deadend with plenty of space for the kids to play in the snow and use the sleds, with no fear of car traffic. Nick, the caretaker was great too & very helpful with a few questions we had. Great house & can't wait to go back!

Beautiful, comfortable house, right next to the ski mountain
With our group of 10+ people, this house was perfect! Not only was a beautiful and brand-new, but it was only a few minutes away from Purgatory Resort (and a shuttle was provided for free, by the way). It's also close to a grocery store and gas station. The multiple patios provided gorgeous views, and the large open kitchen was ideal for us girls to cook dinner and move around freely. The dining table fit all of us as well, and there was a room and bed for every single person. Plus, the beds were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in--and the easy-to-use steam shower is the perfect ending to a long day on the slopes. I will definitely be returning!!!

WOW, Perfect House, Perfect Location
Thank you very much for providing such a Awesome house! The steam showers, kitchen, living space, and overall house aesthetics were phenomenal. I haven't had that much fun on a group trip in a long time! It was easy to cook our own meals ( kitchen had everything we needed) get to the mountain, and hit a few restaurant/bars after hitting the slopes. Great Place to Stay! ! Thanks again

We needed a large house for our kids, grandkids, and siblings, of which all were flying in from other states to attend the wedding of our son at the Durango Mountain Resort. This house is not only beautiful, and very large, it has every convenience one might need. I particularly liked the dual washers and dryers, the 2 large refrigerators, the fact that every bedroom had it's own bath, the 'steam' showers, the spaciousness where all our family and friends could hang out and not feel crowded and the 2 huge t.v.s where the Sunday football games were watched. My only regret is that we didn't have an extra day or 2 after the wedding festivities to just 'unwind' and enjoy the beautiful scenery around us and explore everything the area has to offer. The business places we contracted with before hand, in the city of Durango, were all very helpful and accommodating and the wedding was as beautiful as we had planned and hoped it would be! Thank you to Michael and your family for allowing us to share your home and create memories to last a life time!

Great property
Our summer stay at the Brand New Mountain House was wonderful. The home was well appointed, clean and beautiful. The owner was very helpful and cooperative. We agree with the other review that window coverings in the dining area would be helpful for mealtime. We enjoyed the resort pool, Alpine Slide and other activities there. We also went fishing at a nearby lake, did a mine tour in Silverton and hiked to the waterfall between downpours. Weather didn't permit horse back riding so we'll do that next time! Be sure to plan ahead if you are preparing your own meals. The nearest well stocked grocery store is back in Durango. Thee Pitts Again was an amazing BBQ restaurant in Silverton and worth the drive! No Way Jose Mexican food restaurant in downtown Durango was also delicious.
