About this property
Have a quiet weekend retreat at my recently renovated riverside bungalow
Close to the heart of New Milford, and a short drive away from artsy Kent. Have a quiet getaway at my riverside bungalow. Recently renovated, this small two bedroom home is the perfect weekend retreat.
Enjoy relaxing on the river deck, swinging on the hammock, grilling a meal on the house deck, making a fire in the firepit in the evening. The land is full of wildflowers to enjoy.
There is easy fishing access to the river a few miles up the road, and Candlewood Lake to the south.
The space
The house is a small two bedroom home. The primary bedroom has large windows with a view of the river and landscape, and yet private as neighbors are not visible from this vantage. The second bedroom is small with a twin bed and secretary desk.
The kitchen appliances are all new and the kitchen is equipped with the basics. The kitchen is stocked with a coffee maker, electric kettle, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. Some pantry food items are kept stocked; coffee, tea, olive oil sugar, salt, pepper. The house has well water that is safe to drink. We also provide soaps, sponges, paper products, clean linens, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
The house has central air/heating, controlled by a thermostat in the living room, which you may adjust to your liking.
The library features a 55" smart TV. Log into your favorite platforms; or check out my collection of movies on VHS : )
The home features a deck, which has a seating area with sun umbrella, and a Weber grill available for use. The deck looks out over the river and wildflower hillside.
By the river, you can enjoy the river deck I built, along with a firepit area and woodshed for an evening by the campfire, or just swing in the hammock nearby.
Guest access
The home is yours to enjoy! You’ll have the entire home to yourself for the duration of your stay. Firewood is conveniently provided for your use inside by the wood stove.
Other things to note
Conveniently located on the Connecticut/New York border, just a 1 ½ hour drive or metro north from NYC. The area is a prime location, as it offers some of the most stunning and scenic hikes & drives in the country. Only a 10 minute drive from Kent, New Milford or Pawling.
