About this property
Boutique Modern Bungalow In El Pescadero
Wake up surrounded by vibrant farm fields, palms, and views of the Pacific in the distance in the heart of El Pescadero. Where design meets serenity, Casa Hygge is an ideally-located space between Todos Santos + Cerritos where you can unwind throughout your Baja Sur getaway.
Curated with a discerning traveler in mind, our eco-friendly bungalow is both functional and puts the mind at ease through the use of warm minimalist (Hygge) design.
Casa Hygge is a newly constructed beautiful micro-community in the leafy oasis of El Pescadero, centrally located north of Cerritos beach and a short drive south of Todos Santos. Our bungalow (#6) is tucked into a more private corner of the property, while remaining close to the pool, game room, and rooftop outdoor gym.
Casita #6 is exclusively for you, complete with a front patio and your own rooftop which doubles as an outdoor living room – the slanted sidewalls were designed for privacy.
Casa Hygge is a safe and secure property, located on a private dead-end road. No highway noise or barking dogs.
ROOFTOP PATIO: YOUR OUTDOOR LIVING ROOM
Most of the magic of Baja happens outdoors. Our bungalow is complete with a private outdoor rooftop patio where you can gaze out to the ocean in the distance, get 360 views of the locally owned farm fields that surround you, or spend evenings stargazing with a glass of wine as waves crash in the distance.
THE DESIGN
The bungalow was designed to maximize natural light and airflow. Furnishings and finishings were custom crafted for Casa Hygge with many pieces made from local rosewood. A handwoven jute tapestry hangs from the wall, and planters from inside to out were designed and molded on-site.
Plugs are conveniently located near the bed, in the kitchen, near the couch, and also on the rooftop for those wishing to remain connected throughout their stay.
BED AREA IN STUDIO
You’ll be falling asleep and waking up in a king-sized bed. Just behind, you can plug in and also have space to set your phone, book, journal, or laptop.
KITCHEN + DINING AREA
There is a full-size fridge for fresh farm produce and cold cerveza. You can cook local fish and veggies on your glass-top electric stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, including a coffee maker, blender, kettle, toaster, wine glasses, pots, and pans – all of your cooking and eating essentials.
The dining table is barstool style with room for dinner for 4. If you feel like eating outdoors, make your way up to the roof for dinner at sunset or under the stars.
The soaps, garbage bags, and cleaning products all are biodegradable.
LIVING AREA
*All electric HVAC + water heater (no gas appliances). The living space has a custom-built couch, table, and two chairs. There’s plenty of space to lounge or work in the living area near the front of the bungalow, or even out on the front patio.
FRONT PATIO
Slide your glass doors open and take a morning coffee on your front patio complete with two handcrafted chairs, and a small table as the Baja nature wakes up with you.
BATHROOM
Step onto smooth stones and let a rainwater shower wash away the day's salt along with Made in Mexico biodegradable body wash and hair products. From the shower window, you also have a beautiful view of the bright pink bougainvillea sprawling the fence.
LAUNDRY ROOM
There is a brand new front-loading washing machine available in the closet of the casita.
There are a variety of shared spaces among the 13 units to enjoy throughout Casa Hygge including the pool area, garden, game/community building, rooftop gym, and parking areas. On a hot day, wind your way to the pool to take in the Vitamin D while you cool off. If you’re in the mood to socialize and stargaze, head to the firepit and enjoy a glass of local wine in the company of new friends. If you’re up for some entertainment, walk over to the game room where you’ll find a pool table, books, and games. And for sunset, climb the spiral staircase to the game room rooftop for a social toast with like-minded travelers. Wander and wind the pathways and see where you end up!
FREQUENTLY ASKED TRAVELER QUESTIONS DO I NEED TO RENT A CAR?
Like many of the hidden gems in the area, our property is nestled off the beaten path, so we highly recommend renting a car. Most of our guests opt for having a car during their stay to be able to fully explore all the region has to offer from nearby Todos Santos to heading to Cerritos for surf, mountain and beach hikes, and the many culinary food gems dotted around El Pescadero.
CAN I WALK TO THE BEACH FROM MY BUNGALOW?
It’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach from your bungalow and about a 3-minute drive to get there by car - choose your adventure!
CAN I SWIM AT THE BEACH CLOSEST TO MY BUNGALOW?
We recommend Cerritos Beach for swimming. The beaches closest to Casa Hygge are great for sunrise, sunset, whale watching, picnic lunches, and daytime relaxing, however, the current is too strong to swim in El Pescadero and Todos Santos area.
WHERE CAN I SURF CLOSE TO MY BUNGALOW?
Just a 10-minute drive south is Cerritos Beach where you can surf yourself, or take lessons if you’re a beginner. There are other areas for surfing if you are more advanced – we can recommend them to you during your stay. There are also a few great breakfast spots that are open early on your way from your bungalow as you approach the main road to the beach.
