This is our second year my wife and I rented this condo at Fernie. It's clean and comfortable, with views of the mountain, perfect for my wife and I. It's very close to the lifts (7 minute walk, but we had a friend pick us up each morning!). We have already booked the same unit for next year!
The property was true to the listing. We enjoyed our stay and the location is great for quick access to the ski hill. We were there in late season and the snow at the bottom of the hill was mostly gone which made any ski out virtually impossible. This was not a big issue as it is a short walk back to the condo. Would definitely book this place again.
Everything in our suite was excellent. If I can say that the ONLY thing wrong was that there was no Air Conditioning.
The weather was 37 degrees and the suite was very very hot. It did cool off a bit at night. There were 2 small fans in the suite but we had brought 2 of our own as well. Thank goodness.
The condo was in a great location and was perfect for a little escape away from the noise of city or town. Condo is well stocked with dishes, cookware and a community spice cupboard. There is also a capichino machine. Nice touch! A couple minor fixes and this property could easily be a 4/5. The shower head needs replacing. It is calcified and what does work of it could pierce you in places you don’t want to be pierced! The tower fan is filthy dusty and the baseboards are also filthy. In our opinion the bed is far too soft but that one is tough to please everyone on. Overall I would stay again if I knew the minor things were fixed up/deep cleaned.
We found the unit to be exactly as advertised. The location was idea for our exploration of the area and it's close proximity to Fernie made it extremely easy to access all restaurants and services that we needed. The unit was very clean and comfortable and all amenities worked perfectly. The full kitchen was a huge plus for us. Even during 30+ degree days the unit stayed comfortable just by closing drapes and windows - as per the instructions. Nights were cool enough to really enjoy the lovely duvet's and blankets. The complex itself was quiet and we had no issues with neighbours, noise or parking. We would stay in this unit again, without hesitation. Most Sincerely. Joe & Emmett (Ontario, )
The property was great! Well
Located with only a short walk to the lifts, great compact space with everything you need for a few days skiing. Sadly the hot tub closed because it was too cold (it was very cold so it was understandable!). We loved it!
Condo as pictured with amenities as listed.
Quiet location . A bit dated ; runway lighting throughout needs adjustment.
Location would be awesome in ski season.
Some promotion of Fernie town would be a good idea for off ski season renters.
The condo was perfect for my wife and I to enjoy a week of skiing at Fernie. It's close to skiing and has a great view of the mountain from the picture window. The unit was clean, well maintained and functional. We already reserved again for next winter.
Greg was fabulous at communicating! He also went out of his way to help me adjust the days of the booking and even offered to give me more of a credit if he got the credit from vrbo. He promptly did so a day after our stay ended. So kind!!!
The condo was super clean and has the most amazing view of Fernie ski resort we loved sitting and having coffee in am and wine at night in front of the big windows and the great view. Kitchen is set up with decent knives and pots and pans for cooking.
I’m a stickler for good bedding and Greg kindly gave us the comforter from the other Unit when I mentioned the comforter in our unit was lumpy. So kind of him. Towels were soft and there were lots of them.
The other thing to note is that this isn’t ski in or out as I assumed. It’s roughly a 400 meter walk to the ski hill - not too bad in snow board boots but not the greatest in ski boots. We ended up driving to parking lot 2 on our subsequent ski days and it was a much nicer experience.
Overall, it was a great stay and Greg is a wonderful owner to work with!
Excellent stay! Couldn’t ask for a better place for our family vacation.

About the host

I started skiing at Fernie in 1967 at the age of 6 years when the hill had just two T-bars. My wife and I have owned this unit since 1999. In between our twice per month weekend ski visits the unit is available for rentals.
We come down the odd summer weekend to golf (one day in Cranbrook and one day at Fernie) and fly-fish.
Why they chose this property
Might have something to do with 875 cm of snow per year and the abundance of steep fall lines. The view of Skydive/Stag Leap/Decline was the closer.
