About this property

Miles To Go-Family friendly camp on Toddy Pond. Swim, boat, fish, hike.

Welcome to Miles To Go! Named in a nod to the Robert Frost poem, this camp is just the right place to escape and relax to enjoy nature. For the non Mainers, a camp is a basic cabin thats primary purpose is to provide access to the outdoor space and the adventures that surround it. This camp is simply beautiful and points you to the true Maine experience of adventure, nature, and relaxation. You will leave camp with tales of swimming, paddling, campfires, fishing, exploring, hiking, and observing nature.

The camp has 175’ of waterfront, surrounded by trees, on beautiful Toddy Pond. It is located on upper Toddy where the depth reaches 122’. This is a prized fishing location; excellent for catching landlocked salmon, lake trout, and splake, among others. There is a dock for enjoying a cup of coffee, launching a paddle boat (provided), or for jumping into the lake for a swim. There is also a small beach area where younger children can wade in. You can enjoy a hot shower in the outdoor shower (also a shower inside) or play a board game on one of the two screened-in porches. The outdoor space also features a grill and a fire pit.

The camp is filled with large windows showcasing the beauty of Maine’s iconic rocky terrain, trees, and water. The kitchen has all you need for enjoying meals pre or post adventure. A lobster pot, tools, and instructions for where to buy and how to cook your own lobsters are provided! Feel free however, to take a short drive to one of the many local restaurants and let the professionals do it for you! The spacious and inviting living room offers wonderful water views. The main camp sleeps nine. There is a double bed in each of the first two bedrooms and the third bedroom has two bunk beds (one is a triple-decker bunk, a kid favorite). The camp also offers a bunk house that is a fun hangout spot or sleeps an additional two with a double bed (note: there is no bathroom in the bunkhouse).

The camp is located only 30 miles from Bangor International Airport and is centrally located to many of Maine’s attractions, charming coastal towns, and excellent hiking locations. Some examples are:

Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust (6.7 miles)
Acadia National Park (28 miles)
Bar Harbor (33 miles)
Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery (2.7 miles)
Naiad Country Brewery (3.5 miles)
Castine (19 miles)
Schoodic Point (43 miles)
Blue Hill (15 miles)
Downeast Scenic Railroad (15 miles)
Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory (9.8 miles)
Fort Knox (9.4 miles)

A camp adventure awaits you! Make sure to spend time with your family enjoying the sunset, listening to the loons, gazing at the stars, looking for bald eagles, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

About the host

Host profile image
My husband and I were both born and raised in Maine. After we got married, we had to leave the state for work. We return frequently so our four boys can get a taste of “the way life should be.” We love hiking, swimming, fishing, skating, skiing and just being outside together. We are so excited to own a small piece of the state we love so much and are thrilled to host and share Maine’s natural beauty with others. Please reach out if you need anything during your stay. We really want you to have as strong of a connection with Maine as we do.

Why they chose this property

We chose the location because it is close to where we grew up, close to the Bangor International Airport, close to amazing hikes, and nearby to the ocean. We also chose this location because we love Toddy Pond. It is large, peaceful, great for fishing and kayaking, and has deep crystal clear water.

What makes this property unique

We love this camp because it is just that-a camp. It’s not a fancy lake house. It is elegant, simple and beautiful. It’s large windows, knotty pine walls, and minimalist decorations help you focus on the outside and bring the peace of nature inside.
