Abalone Point: Oceanside Panoramic View Home




Our home is a perfect rental for two families or 3-4 couples. We have completed a 360 sq. ft. loft addition in late December 2016. The house AND casita sleep MAXIMUM of 8. (Children are included in the maximum of 8 and absolutely no exceptions.) Our home is very well maintained (one of number one reasons people appreciate our home) and tastefully decorated with a Sea Ranch/Pottery Barn look. The kitchen was torn out and completely changed to a gourmet kitchen in fall of 2023. . Four decks to enjoy panoramic amazing ocean and garden views. Easy walk to Shell Beach and privately located at the end of the cul-de-sac. Located on .5 acre with empty .5 acre lots on either side.
Holidays (President Weekend, Easter weeks, Memorial and Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, are high season.

Three gas fireplaces, 2 large HD television with DVR, hot tub, free wireless internet service included. Wireless will allow streaming (Netflex, etc). Main House: 1 King, 1 Queen, 1 queen sofa bed (top of the line American Leather brand) in loft, Casita (a second detached master suite): 1 Queen.
There is an openness to this home not only inside with its many windows but outside too. The home is bi-level with 3 steps to kitchen and bathrooms. Unique to our house is the large open mowed space surrounding the house which has allowed for many a whiffle ball game, soccer, bocce, frisbee or kite flying. Bring your bicycles to enjoy either mountain biking on the trails or biking Leeward Road for a 8 mile roundtrip from our house on a road with little elevation change.

We designed the detached 'Casita' for a unique suite with its own deck, gas fireplace, and spectacular views. Family & guests cannot decide which master suite they like best at the house. Our decks give you lots of options for sun or shade & protection from wind. The solar effect on the vast front windows keep the house toasty warm on cold days.

Our home provides linens with the beds made so that you can enjoy your visit from the moment you walk in the door. You will find kitchen & 8 bath towels too. Through our years of renting, we discovered many homes lacked kitchen amenities. We enjoy cooking & decided to outfit the kitchen with good kitchen dishes, sharp knives, All-Clad style pots and pans, lots of spices and seasonings for the gourmet chef. Views from the kitchen windows will make you want to cook. The couch and window seats will draw you for a nap, reading a book, or watching the wildlife. Deer love to graze around the house . Don't be surprised to see hawks, turkeys, or a fox walk by. You can take a walk or bike ride to Shell or Tidepool Beach. The seals are always there, taking their naps or watching you as you explore the beach. Another favorite spot in the house is the game table (downstairs & upstairs) with views as you do a jigsaw puzzle or play one of the many games provided.


One-Eyed Jack playground is a short distance away and our grandchildren love exploring the cypress hedgerow next to the playground.We are sure you will enjoy your stay and love the peacefulness & beauty of The Sea Ranch.

BEAUTIFUL! Great place to have a family celebration.

This property and host was so lovely- we had the best time celebrating my mom's 70th birthday. Fantastic kitchen, great little casita out back, hot tub, views... everything you need! Will be back soon.

Abalone Point

This house was a magnificent place for our family to stay for the Christmas holidays! It was spacious, warm and dry, and offered an especially well-stocked kitchen. With the casita, we all had plenty of space to spread out, and with the coastal and up-in-the-hills walks, plenty of space to roam. Access to the rec centers, with their pools and saunas, was also welcome. Brava!

Weekend at Abalone Point

We had a wonderful stay at Abalone Point. The house was well located with a view of the ocean and had everything we needed for a family get-away. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed walking the Bluff Trail each day. The owners really care for their home and it shows in the way it is maintained. We look forward to staying there again.

A World Away

Abalone Point offers a wonderful respite from urban hustle and bustle. We stayed as a family of four (kids 6 and 3) and the house was perfect for our needs. The location is perfect - 10 to 15 min walk to the perfect beach for tide pools (or 3 min drive, with easy parking), 10 min drive to Gualala for groceries, 10 min drive to "The Hot Spot", 10 min drive to Sea Ranch Lodge and 2Fish bakery. The house was very clean, cozy, and well-suited to cooking or lounging (huge sofa, games, puzzles, multiple TVs and good wifi). We loved watching the local deer by day and stargazing from the hot tub by night. We would love to return!!!

What a lovely place to vacation!

We had a large family group and rented several Sea Ranch houses for a long weekend. It was lovely! The house was immaculate with beautiful views everywhere we looked. The host's instructions were clear for both check in and check out. We had no problems finding it. The host was very responsive whenever I had a question. The wildlife was breathtaking. The stars at night were spectacular. The host even provided great suggestions for things to do on the area. I would stay here again!

Peaceful retreat

We loved our time at Abalone Point. The home is on a cul-de-sac with a spectacular view. It is a short walk from the gorgeous Shell Beach. There is a large yard in the front, which is perfect for outdoor games. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. It is spacious, well-equipped, and nicely organized. There was a great selection of spices and vinegar on hand! We appreciated the multiple patio areas to lounge and enjoy the view. The hot tub is lovely as well. The house includes fun, creative touches such as beautiful collections of shells throughout the house. We look forward to our next visit!

Beautiful NorCal Coast

What an enjoyable, relaxing family vacation! The days were spent exploring the great outdoors, from nature trails through the towering redwoods to the many coves along the coast. A family of deer had their breakfast most mornings right in front of the living room windows. Most importantly, the house was very clean and well kept.

Relaxing Retreat

I celebrated my office manager's birthday with another coworker up at this property in Sea Ranch. It was such a beautiful and relaxing property that we never left except to enjoy dinner the first night of our arrival. Everything was labeled in the kitchen to make it easy to find what we were looking for. It was so quiet and a truly wonderful escape from the daily grind. Can't wait to come back again next year and do it all over again! 😁

Comfortable property in The Sea Ranch

Spacious and homey. Would stay here again. We had 2 adult couples who had their own bedrooms and 1 single in the loft (pullout couch). Plus another couple in the casita. Good parking on property, and easy proximity to the ocean. Only suggestions would be providing more bath towels, pillows, and pillowcases. Also one side of pull out couch is sagging. Otherwise, highly recommend. 😊

Signature Sea Ranch Home

The home fits the style and character of Sea Ranch. The owners gave us complete instructions and were great at communicating. The house fit 3 adult couples comfortably. It was a nice place to land at night, and easy traveling distance to Sea Ranch Lodge, where we spent most of our time for a relative's wedding.

A wonderful vacation

Our family loved the both the house and Sea Ranch. The house was very comfortable, with lots of common areas to relax and and very well stocked kitchen. We spent a lot of time walking the paths, seeing deer every morning, and going to visit the harbor seals. Would definitely return.

The Perfect Retreat

What an amazing home! We had a small family gathering and the house and attached casita offered exquisite views and every possible accommodation you could need or want. We have rented many homes over the years and we were truly impressed by how immaculate it was cared for and tastefully and comfortably furnished. We personally got to enjoy the master suite which was spacious, very private and had a massive soaking tub in the middle of the bathroom. One of our adult children loved the casita and the privacy and views it offered. The kitchen was fully equipped right down to a coffee grinder and espresso machine. There were windows and light everywhere and we were entertained by the deer and wild turkeys that frequently visited us everyday. We got to visit with family members while walking the many paths along the breathtaking coast. The owners were incredibly responsive to our needs and made the experience seamless. We can’t wait to go back!

Needed family reunion

Everything we could have hoped for was delivered during our stay. The layout was perfect for privacy as well as our group get together. The kitchen and utensils was like being in my old restaurant. Everything in its place. So many compliments from my family who stayed and those visiting from other rentals they were staying at. We will be back for sure!

Our family camped on the North Coast for nearly 30 years with a love of the ocean, abalone diving and good times camping with family and friends. We learned of The Sea Ranch and began to rent homes after our camping area was closed. We soon discovered the wonderful amenities and luxuries that Sea Ranch offered.
We decided to name our house 'Abalone Point' since we loved abalone diving and we met 44 years ago on Catalina Island and loved swimming at Abalone Point on Catalina Island. We are now retired and can spend the time to maintain and keep our Sea Ranch home up to our standards.

Why they chose this property

'Abalone Point' was under property management for 4 years but we now have the time to manage the property ourselves and offer amenities not possible before. Our home will now have linens provided with the beds made so that you can enjoy your visit from the moment you walk in the door. You will find kitchen & bath towels too. Through our years of renting, we discovered many homes lacked kitchen amenities. We enjoy cooking & decided to outfit the kitchen with good kitchen dishes, knives, pots and pans, lots of spices and seasonings for the gourmet chef. Please let us know if we are missing some! Views from the kitchen windows will make you want to cook. The couch and window seat will draw you for a nap, reading a book, or watching the wildlife. Deer love to graze around the house and often take their afternoon naps under the shade of a tree down from the house. Don't be surprised to see hawks, turkeys, or a fox walk by. You can take a walk or bike ride to Shell or Tidepool Beach. Our grandchildren love collecting shells and other treasures at these amazing spots (especially at low tide). The seals are always there, taking their naps or watching you as you explore the beach. Another favorite spot in the house is the game table with views as you do a jigsaw puzzle or play one of the many games provided.
