This cabin is remotely set in the woods off of a country road. It was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans and appliances. Everything worked fine. The owners provide an ample supply of towels, linens and blankets. The back deck offers a relaxing setting. We highly recommend this cabin and will consider renting it again.
We brought 2 dogs with us for a weekend getaway filled with hiking, Cavern tours, and winery visits. The place was exactly as pictured and the host was very friendly and helpful!
What a wonderful little place that was the perfect size for the 6 of us! Quiet, peaceful with a fantastic soaking tub! You can walk to Shenandoah Outfitters where you can rent a tube, canoe or kayak! Close enough to town that you can enjoy the caverns, Skyline Drive, Rescue Zoo and more! Terrific hiking too! Acorn Hill is just the perfect place to get away from it all!!! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!!!
My husband and our two pups loved our stay! We appreciate Becky and David keeping our fur babies in mind when it comes to comfort. Excellent communication making the check in and out process easy. Traveling from DC metro, we enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature. It’s the perfect location and near activities like the Luray Caverns. Even if you have to drive a little from the place to get somewhere, it’s a beautiful drive in the country!
This little cabin was the perfect size for me and my five friends for a weekend in the mountains! So close to Luray Caverns and the town! Not to mention the view from the deck was gorgeous. I would absolutely stay here again if I were going to stay in Shenandoah
Our family had a great stay at this cabin! The cabin was fully supplied with everything we could think of. Kitchen fully stocked with any baking, cookware or dishes that you could need. Every time we thought that we needed to buy something from the store for the cabin, we would turn around and end up finding exactly what we were looking for already available. I personally loved waking up in the morning and sitting out on either deck while sipping my coffee, just hearing the birds and listening to the silence of the mountain. The soaker tub was also a huge hit with our family! We loved every second of our stay! It was a five star rating for our son and golden retriever also! We definitely would like to take another trip to this area sometime again in the future and I would love to rent this cabin again…or any of the other cabins available with these hosts! They really thought of everything and it was wonderful!
Three night stay in this remote cabin in the hills!
Everything was in order and clean. Our son and daughter in law visited to celebrate our son’s birthday with a very nice dinner in town at Watch and Warrant.
The cabin is located about 8 miles from downtown Luray on a winding road through farms and along the river. There are several nearby houses/cabins on the road with this rental. Our two small dogs loved their walks several times a day.
Our hosts were in touch through VRBO with information and suggestions. Thanks to them for a relaxing stay.
Lovely cottage but surprisingly close to other houses and cottages
This cottage was cozy and the owners thought of every possible need. A fully equipped kitchen from ziplocks to spices, plus games, movies, you name it, they had it! The dog friendly accommodation was a must for us and the hosts even provided food / water bowls and blankets to protect furniture. We found the beds to be a bit uncomfortable and we were surprised by how close the cottage was to other properties and how small the yard itself was. There really was no area to play with our dog on the property. Otherwise, check in/out was a breeze and communication with the owners was very easy from the time we booked. Lots of opportunities nearby for hiking and the Whiskey Wine Loop was fun.
We had the best time in Acorn Hill cabin. Lots to do and see. Fall colors were fantastic.
Perfect cabin for people with disabilities (or anyone).
Perfect hosts that answered our questions right away and went out of their way to install a grab bar in the bathroom.
Acorn Hill has no steps or stairs...just walk right in.
Beautiful scenery everywhere! Very peaceful.
Kitchen has everything you need. Beds are very comfortable.
Cabin VERY neat and CLEAN.
Best VRBO we have stayed and we have used them all over the country.
Thank you Dave and Becky for making our vacation so memorable.

Had a great time with family. Cabin was clean and cozy.
We had a fire out back both nights. Close to downtown, we had fun shopping while my husband and son were fishing on the river. We will definitely be back. Diane C
Wonderful little place. Perfect for my husband and myself and our 2 fur babies. As described and more. Very clean. Hosts were great to work with. Had a local power outage and Becky kept us updated throughout. Our weather didn’t cooperate with our stay but still had a great time. Hope to return next year.
Acorn hill was an ideal location for a week vacation. Pet friendly was a big draw. The host was immediately responsive to any question. Access to Shenandoah national park and Skyline drive was easy.
Exceptional cabin!!! 10 out of 10!
My husband, I and our pup truly enjoyed our weekend at AH cabin! Cabin is very well priced and Hosts are very quick to reply, very helpful with tips and flexible for an early check in.
We brought our own kayak and enjoyed a day at South Fork Shenandoah River. Bealers Ferry Boat Launch is a short 15 min walk from the cabin and Foster is about 30 min walk, both easy access for launch in the water.
We also brought our own hammock which was so pleasant to have in the backyard. We made a suggestion for the hosts to have one at the cabin :) the cabin is very roomy and has many things for guests to use (though we would suggest an extra skillet in the kitchen), but they have everything else for a comfortable stay! Beds, pillows and bed sheets are clean and comfortable. Water pressure is really nice and we didn’t mind the mineral smell in the water.
We tried Wisteria Farm Vineyard, which is only 25 min away. Very small and cute winery, with delicious wine and meads! Our dog really enjoyed seeing the hens walking around in there :)
We went early morning for a hike, but it was a little too hot for our dog, so we will try Kennedy’s peak in the fall.
We loved the place, and we can’t wait to try their other properties in Luray! The hosts are truly the best property managers we have ever encounter!
The stay was great! Cabin was nice and clean. Kids had fun with the board games, movies and running around out back. We got to see deer out back every night we were there. Will definitely be back some other time for sure.
The place is very nice, clean and also it has everything what you need. David and Becky are very nice and cooperative and make sure to let the visitors know about the place.
Check in process was easy, the house came with everything we needed including little things, and it’s quiet and peaceful with a great view in the back! The drive to places is over 20 minutes but that is mentioned in the bio and as long as you are okay with traveling some, it’s a great place to be! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend or full of adventure!
Great place to stay - close to Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns.
