Running Wolf Cabin (1 BR) – ski trail access, pool/hot tub, and playground

The space

Located at Wolfridge Resort, Running Wolf Cabin is the main floor of a two story log townhome. The living area has cathedral ceilings and has an open airy feel. Hardwood floors, log walls, and unique furniture make this cabin feel like a remote escape while still being close to the fun. We have over 40 acres of open space and the Methow River is a short walk away. Jump in the pool on those hot summer days after a hike in the hills. In the winter, you can strap on your skis at the front door and ski the Methow Trails System. Warm yourself in the hot tub in the evenings and curl up on the couch with a cup of cocoa. The Wolfridge Resort Property also has a play structure, horseshoes, and a sand volleyball/badminton court.

Bedroom with queen bed and single day bed.
Full bathroom

Wonderful

The cabin was great! The location was very peaceful! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub! Kids had a blast. The kitchen cupboards, drawers, coffee pot, tea kettle etc were not very clean. We spent an hour cleaning mold out of the coffee grinder and wiping crumbs and dirt from the inside of the cupboards and drawers but other than that it was to be expected and exactly what we needed!

Cute and cozy cabin in the Methow

This cabin was a perfect base camp for adventures in the Methow. We stayed in the summer but would love to come back and enjoy the area from here in winter.

The perfect little escape!

We had such an amazing time! The cabin was clean, and stocked with everything you could need, even an extra fan! They have games, and a funky but awesome DVD collection. We were pleasantly surprised to see a dishwasher and washer, amazing gas stove, and a cast iron griddle! It didn’t take away from the cabin vibes! Super comfy bed, and loved the overall aesthetic, everything felt super clean. We were so happy with how cool it stayed inside when it was in the high 80s and humid. The property is very well maintained, has great walking trails, close to the river, and was very dog friendly! It was the perfect place to escape and unwind. Just don’t forget your citronella candle, and if you do the local market is a short drive, and well stocked with them. I would highly recommend staying here, and will definitely be back.

Great winter week

We were very pleased with everything about this rental. Location was great-groomed skiing outside the door and easy drive to other xc trails and amenities of the valley. The cabin was comfortable, cozy (despite very cold temps) and well provisioned. We loved being able to travel with our dog who also got to enjoy some dog-friendly groomed trails.

Renters beware

We rented this property 11/4-11/6. Upon our arrival we noted mouse poop on the bed and on the stove in the kitchen. We were disgusted but hopeful this was an old issue missed by cleaning staff. However, in the morning we found our packaged food left on the counter chewed through. We proceeded to buy mouse traps and over the course of the weekend caught 3 mice. There is an active mouse problem with this cabin. When we contacted the owners asking for a partial refund, we were denied our request and were told we should have expected the mouse problem as they are part of rural life. Nowhere in the description of this cabin is there a disclaimer that renters should expect an active mouse problem with mouse poop in the bed and in the kitchen. Please think twice before renting this space as you will not be refunded for less than sanitary conditions.

Methow Valley Retreat

Winthrop is a great all-season destination, and we often stay at properties in WolfRidge Resort as a base for day hikes or XC skiing. This cabin is roomy but cozy, with a well-stocked kitchen (pots, pans, good cutting knives, appliances, etc.). We also enjoy the grounds and hot tub, and discovered the river trail on this stay - just look for the signs. The cabin's location is good for getting into town or out on trails in the valley or in North Cascades National Park. One note: from the bedroom, you can hear occupants of the studio above. If you'd prefer to avoid that, book both the whole unit (first floor and studio).

Quiet getaway

This place was super peaceful. The bugs sucked, so bring your bug spray because they're everywhere. The bed is a little on the firmer side so if that's not for you then be ready for it. There's also no AC so if you run a little hot then be ready for that but the place still stays at a lower temperature than outside if you follow their directions and use the fans provided. This is the first rental I've ever had that had a properly seasoned cast iron, so props for that! The drive to town is about 10 minutes. If you want to relax then enjoy the pool and hot tub and walk around the grounds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it.

Great Place to stay

This cabin is as advertised and then some. Its spacious with plenty of room for a family of 4. The kitchen is well stocked. Its near Winthrop, but not exactly in Winthrop if that is what you are looking for. Also, for those seeking privacy, there are other units in the cabin, so it may be possible to hear other occupants from time to time.

Running Wolf Cabin

We love visiting Winthrop and being able to stay at this location makes the trip even more enjoyable. The privacy is superb and it is just far enough out of town to make you feel secluded but close enough to all the amenities Winthrop offers. Love staying here and will be back.

early spring getaway

this is a great place, perfect for two people (or family with young children, since only one bedroom). Kitchen needs a few lids for pots, but all else really perfect. It was so nice to step out the door to the snow, even in this late snow season. Fun to hear the groomers at night. Some mud, but that's what happens in the early spring. We just took off shoes outside the door and that helped keep mud out.

Great place to stay

Clean, comfortable, warm and next to the ski trail. This was a great place to stay however it was not clear at the booking that this is a multiple unit building, therefore 4 stars and not 5.
