About this property
ROCKLAND WOODS: LODGE, LAND & LAKE
This memorable lodge is the ideal venue for gatherings, reunions, retreats and getaways with those you love, even your dogs. The offerings are so expansive, you will not want to leave the property!
Rockland has 3 trails, a peaceful, non-motorized lake with beach access and many fun surprises on 20-acres of 100-year old forest called Rockland Woods. The trails reveal seasonal delights from mushrooms to flowers and mosses, owls, frogs, woodpeckers, beavers, deer and edible huckleberries. Mission Lake has a west facing view of the Olympic Mountains where sunsets can be subtle and majestic or vibrant and loud. We offer Stand Up Paddle boards, kayaks and a canoe for our guests at this semi-private beach front shared with Rockland guests only.
Rain or shine, there is something for all ages! We have corn hole, yard games, indoor board games, cards, books and puzzles. Sit by a fire (indoors or out), soak in the hot tub or play games at the 14' dining room table, so long that one end is in the kitchen and the other reaches the wood stove in the living room!
Unique offerings include our extensive vinyl collection, which is a guest favorite. Our library of classics, children's books, art books, poetry and theory. Handmade pottery made on the premises is also a treat. The dish trolley even moves in the kitchen! Our kitchen was designed by professional chefs and made to accommodate large groups with a wood fired oven, 6-burner Wolf gas stove, 3 sinks, sharp knives, large stock pots and cast iron to help feed over 20 people.
With 7 bedrooms including 2 king beds, 5 queen beds, and more, there's plenty of space for all 20 guests in Summer, 14 guests in Winter. The 3 bathrooms are equipped with rain showers (one is outdoors) and there is even a bathtub in the woods!
We look forward to hosting you at our place where there is something for everyone...except wifi.

About the host
Hosted by Shawn Landis

Rockland Woods is owned by Shawn and Jodi, two artists from Seattle, who bought the property to host Artist Residencies for all genres: writing, music, visual and performance. We support other artists in their creative process with space and time to create at Rockland. Rockland is also a haven for healing, gathering and retreating by slowing down, connecting to oneself and each other and observing nature, not to mention playing like a child again.
We love to share this enriching land with others and as stewards of the land, acknowledge we are on native Suquamish Land. Your rental keeps the forests from logging and supports artists to create our culture.

Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful with views of Mission Lake and the Olympic Mountains. Our neighbors are mostly retired, single family homes. We expect our guests to respect this quiet scene and enjoy themselves in it.
What makes this property unique
Our property contains nearly everything you may need to explore nature and play. There are 20 acres of 100 year old forest to discover on 3 trails. The lake has a semi-private beach access for only guests of Rockland Woods. To get there, you walk passed the tents on the Landing and head down to cross the dead end road. Artistic touches are everywhere from the bathtub in the woods to the moving dish trolley in the kitchen with handmade ceramics by owner, Jodi.
