About this property
Palma Lodge on the Bayfield Peninsula
You will be staying in a private apartment attached to the main house. The apartment has an exterior entrance and private bathroom. The apartment is located in the forest between Washburn and Ashland, one mile from Lake Superior.

The space
Includes a kitchenette and private bath with a shower. An upper bedroom with a full size bed and a first floor sitting room with a full size futon for a peaceful forest stay.
Guest access
You will have access to the yard, trails ( hiking, snowshoe or MTB ), gas grill, and campfire ring. We do have some bedding options for children. Please ask. We also have great drinkable tap water from our private well. So leave that bottled water behind and fill your thermos at the tap.
Other things to note
Currently we have 1 outdoor cat, Smokie. None of the animals enter the guest apartment and spend most of their time outside. Our guests are also welcome, if interested, to join in our seasonal crafts at Palma Lodge. These are sugar season - late March early April (making maple syrup), Cider season - late October, and Wreath making - November.

Hello, we are Pat and Beth Palma. We have lived on this sweet northern property for 25 years. We enjoy sharing this part of world and have hosted guests and travelers here for eight years. We love the outdoors and activities this area has to offer and can offer suggestions if you like.
Why they chose this property
Our 8 acre wooded property is on a rural road about a mile west of Lake Superior. The Chequamegon National Forest is not far to the west. Three miles north on Hwy 13 is Washburn and 13 miles to the north you will find Bayfield.
What makes this property unique
We have trails winding through the wooded property for walking. Wildlife includes deer, birds, fox, and bobcat. Occasionally a bear. The night sky is dark and beautiful. Northern Lights can be seen if you are lucky. (Best viewing at the end of the driveway. Occasional owls, coyote and wolf howling can be heard.) There is a grill and fire pit for your use. Please don't bring firewood we have plenty.
