Rainbow Bungalow, our first bungalow, was specifically designed to be a great place for small groups to gather. With 2 queen sized bedrooms and a loft furnished with 3 futons, Rainbow was designed to be both flexible and inviting. A modern kitchen provides great entertainment for those who love to cook and 2 1/2 bathrooms provide not only privacy, but also convenience! Great community and private spaces are just a few of the things that make Rainbow so appealing. Whether you prefer to snuggle next to the fire with a book, escape to the loft for a movie, or gather at the table to play a competitive game of Scrabble, Rainbow Bungalow is ready to accommodate. Rainbow Bungalow

Rainbow bungalow is a lovely property right on the Sandy River. Perfect place to snuggle into on a rainy November weekend. Gas fireplace adds a lovely touch. Hot Tubbing during a rain storm was a unique and fun experience.

Great cozy cabin in perfect location

We’ve stayed at this cabin a few times before and really like it. It is very cozy and close to many great hikes. One suggestion we have is that they switch to fragrance-free cleaning products, such as in the laundry detergent. Fragrances in cleaning products are typically made from synthetic chemicals that many people like me have allergies and sensitivities to.

Potential for good to great

The property needs lots of maintenance, a good cleaning inside and outside and general repairs and touch ups. We had read about issues with the futons upstairs which clearly have not been addressed. The futons have clearly worn out, and I have to believe there are some good day beds or other furniture that can transition to beds as needed. The hot tub looked filthy outside and in, outside chairs were dirty and covered in cobwebs. The exterior needs some paint, working light bulbs, etc. I appreciate the need to keep it rented, but regular maintenance and updates are always a good idea!

The house is excellent. We were two couples and the house perfectly suited our needs. Loved the hot tub by the river. Be aware that you will get 2 emails from the property before checking in. The first contains the wrong entry code (someone else mentioned this as well). The second contains the correct entry code. Once we figured that out, we were good to go. We had some questions for the property manager but she didn't get back to us in a timely manner - the only way to contact her is through VRBO.

I want that Bungalow!

Love the house, layout, location, decor. Hot tub by the river ( we didn't use it) I did specify and paid for 8 people, none of the extra beds were made, but there was enough sheets and pillows and blankets to go around. E-mail the owner multiple times With no response . We were asked to take garbage and recycling out but it was already overflowing outside. Overall I would love to stay there again

Perfect Getaway

We had a small overnight slumber party as a baby shower. The peaceful serene environment, surrounded by trees with riverfront view was the perfect location! The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable & despite only having 2 bedrooms, feels spacious. We loved the firepit & hot tub. We will definitely return.

Disappointed

We were looking forward to spending a relaxing and restorative night on this property. I had sent a couple of emails indicating that we were all interested in using the Hot Tub after a full day of hiking and was more than a little disappointed when we arrived to hear that it had broken down and that it would take hours before the water would get hot. It never got hot for our stay. While I understand that these things happen and are out of our control, I can't explain why, given our indicated interest, the tub was full of gravel and sand and the lights surrounding the tub did not work! Additionally, we were hoping to do some grilling for dinner but when we opened the grill and saw how unkept it was, we determined it was a bit unhygienic and decided to eat out. While the property is well situated and has a lot of potential, it needs a bit of care.

Perfect for a girls getaway

It was a beautiful little cabin to have a girls getaway. It was rainy but we opened the back doors to listen to the rain and the river it was so relaxing and a perfect time. Thank you Keri!

A destination in and of itself

We had a wonderful stay at the Rainbow Bungalow. It has everything you might need and lots of space to spread out. We loved hanging out in the hot tub by the river and using the BBQ. We'd be back in a minute.

No way to reach property manager-stuck outside for hours!

Due to terrible communication and a false phone number for the property manager, my friend was locked out, had to bother the neighbors, and was stuck for hours while I tried to solve the issue. Here's what happened: They sent an email that said "Here are the keys to your rental" with directions and the lock code, so I sent it to my friend who would arrive three hours before we would. She got there, the code didn't work, and called the number listed for the property manager, to be told it was a wrong number. I called VRBO and was on hold indefinitely, then tried their "24/7" Chat helpline, which told me it would connect me to a human in 5 minutes, but then said "This chat was discontinued." My friend then had to bother the neighbors to see if they knew anything. After trying everything we could think of, I searched my email to double check the code, only to see that in the afternoon on the day of our arrival, they had sent another email with a different code. This is terrible practice! My friend wasted hours of her time outside in the cold as a result of shoddy management on the part of the owner and VRBO. The property itself was nice, but our one-night stay was dramatically reduced and we paid astronomical fees for a couple of hours together when we could have had many more. I've never rented a place at this price point and not been able to get ahold of a manager in case there was a problem. Do not trust this manager or rent this property.

Fantastic Cabin

Great property for family vacation. The proximity to the river and the hot tub was fantastic. The cabin was perfect for four adults and two grandchildren.

Amazing Quiet & Relaxing Getaway

We had an amazing time at this cabin. We were looking for a cabin with comfort and character and we found it in this property. It was very cold but the cabin was warm and cozy upon our arrival and the craftsmanship of the cabin is really a big part of the character. We loved the outdoor fire pit and the river. The hot tub was amazing and the beds were super comfortable. We got very restful sleep and had a great time!

Thanksgiving stay

We rented the cabin to spend Thanksgiving as a short getaway during Covid. It's a lovely and comfortable cabin right on the Sandy River with plenty of amenities provided to make life simple - we brought our own food for meals, otherwise everything else was stocked in the cabin which made the trip easy. The hot tub on the edge of the river was perfect for a 45° day. It was a good experience!

Great Night Away

We had a group of 7 adults and the property was great. The kitchen had everything we needed, the grill and hot tub functioned perfectly, and we appreciated the various nooks and crannies for sleeping space. The fire ban was a bummer, but understandable given the current conditions- listening to the river was great. Will definitely consider for future trips!

Cozy cabin

This cabin is clean, cozy and nicely decorated. We especially loved the hot tub near the river and fireplace inside. The two bedrooms were nice. Our daughters slept on the futons which they said were comfortable. A previous reviewer mentioned when the futons are pulled out that there is a height difference that one might feel in their back. My daughters didn't mind it but an adult might. There were all the needed amenities throughout the home except hand soap in the upstairs bathroom which would have been nice. It was peaceful falling asleep to the sounds of the river. The handle on the washer was broken and glued which will need to be replaced soon as it was about to break again. They is one tv upstairs in one of the lofts but you can only play DVDs. It's a great place to escape. We'd stay here again.

Perfect Mt. Hood getaway

We had such a good time at the Rainbow Bungalow. The location can't be beat, and the house has everything you could want for a fun vacation: hot tub right on the rushing Sandy River, a fire pit close to the house, and lots of windows inside to bring light in despite being right in the middle of the forest. We loved it and look forward to our next stay.

Fabulous get away

Rough times and this is the perfect spot to get away from everything that is going on - just to relax, unwind, and enjoy some peace and quiet. Perfect location, amazing cabin - nice, neat, and it has everything you need for comfort. We’re sure there’s a lot to do outside or within the area but our intention was to be somewhere we can stay in and enjoy our time away from home and we did exactly that - exceeded expectations and wish we could have stayed longer but will definitely consider returning again. Thanks - we had a fabulous time!
