PLEASE NOTE: PRICES ARE QUOTED IN US FUNDS. PLEASE CHECK OUR RATES PAGE FOR CANADIAN FUNDS. Fox Meadows cottage on Quadra's southeast side looks across Sutil Channel to BC's mainland Coast Mountains. Ideal for families or couples, our cottage combines contemporary West Coast design with modern urban comfort. Close to many of the island's natural attractions.

Prepare gourmet meals in the open concept fully equipped kitchen. There is in floor heating throughout. A peaceful sleep awaits you in one of 2 bedrooms: The master has a king sized bed with ensuite bathroom, the second a loft with a queen bed. There is one bathroom with a walk in steam shower. Your days can be spent golfing at the brand new Quadra Links golf course just a short car ride away, soaking in the sights and sounds on We Wa Kai beach, or meandering through one of the many forest trails. Perfect retreat from the city

We had a great time relaxing in the lavender garden, watching the stars, cooking all our meals in the well appointed kitchen. The deer stop by in the morning and evening. Close to a swim in the sea, great trails, and local eggs near-by a perfect get-away. K&P Vancouver

Lovely place for a vacation stay.

Quiet, Relaxing Retreat on beautiful Quadra

This is the third time we have stayed at Fox Meadows. It is a very comfortable , clean contemporary cottage with all amenities set in a beautiful and quiet area. We very much enjoyed our stay and were lucky with the fabulous weather. Thank you Anne and Don!

Wonderful stay

Our family spent a lovely week on Quadra at this tastefully decorated, well equipped cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful setting and the large, nicely landscaped yard, which was close to the quiet beach. We appreciated the two entrances to the bathroom, and the steam shower, a third bed upstairs, the shelves of books and games, the deer passing through the yard, and the blackberry bushes. Anne and Don were friendly and available hosts. We would love to stay again.

Fantastic place!

This is a wonderful property that is exactly what the pictures show and what the write up supports. A beautiful island, a huge amount of waterfront to explore and fantastic people.

Love This Cottage

We are hikers and Quadra is the perfect place for hiking.This cottage was so inviting and peaceful.The location is so private.Ann was a dream to work with and came over one time, on day we arrived to check all was good.Super great place,planning on booking again next Sept. if available of course.the only downfull for me was no 1/2 bathroom upstairs and no screen on the upsairs window.I realize no mosquitoes,but spiders etc are there.We are from the Caribou,we have screens on all windows heheheheh.

A Lovely Bright Cottage with Ocean Views

We stayed at Fox Meadows with friends in mid- October. The cottage was very bright with lots of windows, and we found it worked well for two couples. The loft has a comfortable queen bed, and the main floor bedroom has a king bed. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor and indoor eating areas were good. The cottage is very private, surrounded by lawns and forested areas further back. The first evening brought a visit from the resident deer and the sunrises were amazing every day. We found it very peaceful and convenient for access to the ferry and shopping. Ann welcomed us on arrival and gave us an overview of the property as well as suggestions concerning places to visit and eat. She provided maps and guides to help us adjust to the island - the information was very helpful to first time visitors to Quadra. We loved the cottage and certainly recommend it as special place. Two suggestions to move it from "wonderful to "perfect': the loft sleeping area could benefit from a dresser and table to place a suitcase on, and the living area needs another chair to offer comfortable seating for 4 people.

Relaxing, private getaway

Lovely cottage in a beautiful spot

This was the perfect getaway for me and my husband. The cottage has everything you need and the steam shower is a great way to end the day. The beds are comfy and we appreciated the heated floors. We enjoyed playing frisbee in the large yard and watching the deer pass through. We will definitely be back!

aesthetically pleasing getaway

Amazing!

This place is amazing! It was very well designed and detailed. It was nice and bright due to the big, gorgeous windows taking advantage of the light and ocean views. We loved watching the dear wandering in the yard. It was VERY clean and comfortable. The furniture (bed, sofa, table & chairs) were solid, sturdy and very comfortable. The outdoor spaces were beautiful and private with lots of trees as well as open space and grass (sun and shade). It is in a great location and easy to get to all of the areas on the island. The kitchen is fantastic (it also has a dishwasher). There is a great ceiling fan in the vaulted ceiling to keep things cool during hot weather and to circulate the heated air during the cooler months. There is also great air flow through the bedroom due to the big sliding door (with ocean view) and screens on the windows. The steam shower was an extra bonus. Ann & Don have thought of all the details. We loved absolutely everything about our stay here. Thank you Ann & Don for sharing your beautiful home! Paul and Sabine

Beautiful private home with water views and beach access just steps away!

We absolutely loved our stay at Don and Anne's cottage and will be back! The cottage itself is a beautifully designed home with plenty of room for our family of four. The location is excellent, with no neighbors in sight, water views, and nightly visits from two Momma deer and their twin fawns. The steam shower was a nice bonus at the end of a day of hiking around the island. A perfect piece of paradise!

Another Perfect Stay at Fox Meadows

This was my second stay at Fox Meadows and this year I brought along a friend from Ontario. The peace and quiet was incredibly relaxing after daily hikes to many of the different trails on the island. Quadra is a beautiful, friendly island with spectacular views and abundant wildlife - a paradise for lovers of the outdoors. Fox Meadows had everything we needed for great meals and a place to relax and rejuvenate. I am going to make this an annual retreat for myself. Thank you Don and Anne.

Peace and serenity

Stayed 4 days at Fox Meadows as a family of four. Loved the open plan elements, extremely well equipped and spacious. The peace, quiet and space were supremely relaxing and we loved our time here. Deeer were regular visitors to the garden. Rocky beach is a short walk down the hill, and sunrise here was spectacular. would absolutely recommend this for a get away from it all, peace and tranquillity break.

Beautiful Cottage

My husband and I along with our two children have been back several times! We were delighted at the bright, open floor plan, and beautiful kitchen. The bedrooms are both spacious with very comfortable beds. The steam room was definitely a plus, and the view of the ocean is amazing. Quadra Island has lot's of great beaches and cool things to do. The friendly owners were knowledgable and friendly in helping us plan out things to do and see. This cottage will not disappoint.

Upscale comfort

My husband and I have stayed at Fox Meadows cottage a few times over the years both with friends and on our own. What brings us back? The steam shower, heated floors, comfortable king sized bed and great kitchen! You instantly feel relaxed when you arrive. The cottage is a short walk to a really beautiful beach and has a view of the ocean. I totally recommend booking this for your Quadra Island vacation.

Wonderful Stay!

Our time on Quadra was amazing. The cottage provided us with the perfect back drop for some much needed relaxation time. Big yard to play bocce in and sit in the sun, with a bbq to-boot; all nestled in the beautiful woods, with massive trees and ferns. We really enjoyed the closeness in which we were located to the beach/ hiking trails, taking full advantage of this throughout the weekend. After long days outdoors it was so nice to be able to come back and have a steam! totally relaxing and unique experience, will be back in the future for sure!

Wonderful Respite

Your cabin was the perfect get away for a much needed few days of peaceful rest and relaxation. I wish I could have stayed longer. The quiet surroundings were blissful and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. I enjoyed hiking the island, particularly the walk to Surge Narrows. You have a perfect little hideaway and I look forward to returning. I will definitely recommend your cabin to friends and family.

Idyllic get away on an island paradise

What a Glorious time we spent in your cozy cottage! We are sad to leave....after 2 weeks, it definitely feels like home. You provided everything we needed and more.....the steam shower, a garden tour, freshly picked raspberries and basil, a brand new grill, a doe and her two fawns in front of the windows several times a day, the lovely gardens with hundreds of bees to watch, advice on hiking trails, etc. etc. You made "island life" very appealing by sharing your "little slice of heaven on earth" with us. Your graciousness and perfect accommodations made it easy for our daughter and son-in-law to fall in love with Quadra on their first visit! Another special highlight is the short walk from the cottage to the sea....truly a gift for us who are land-locked in Colorado! And the views of mountains and sea from the cottage are beautiful and peaceful. We leave with grateful hearts for making your dream of having a cottage to share with others a reality.

Anne and Don Doolittle have lived on Quadra since 1976.
We are self employed and run a landscape company and Rhododendron nursery. We like to garden, play tennis, golf,hike,travel,and kayak.

Why they chose this property

We came to visit and fell in love with the island for its natural beauty, and chose to raise our family here.We have a beautiful view of the ocean and mountains and wonderful flower and vegetable gardens.There is access to many outdoor activities both here on the island and in the nearby Vancouver Island Mountains .Quadra also has a warm and vibrant community spirit.

What makes this property unique

We always wanted a view of the ocean and this property was the perfect location for us. We built our home in 1981 and Fox meadows cottage in 2008.We have lived here for 40 years and value the Islands beauty and an amazing community spirit and friends we have made here.There are many cultural events here as well as recreational opportunities.It fits well with our life style and has been a great place to raise a family and now a place for visiting grand kids.
