About the host
Hosted by Maddie Ngo

I was born and raised in Vietnam, until the age of 9. My immediate family immigrated (mom, brother, and sisters) here to reunite with my father, who was a refugee of war. Ivy league educated with a background in science, but decided to join the business world upon graduation. However, at the age of 36 decided to retire from the corporate rate race to start a family business with my husband. We decided to retire from our family owned franchise business here on Maui after COVID to welcome our first and only child in 2021.
Blessed with a green thumb (from my maternal side of the family--farmers and largely landowners) and entrepreneurial spirit (from my paternal side of the family--lumber, concrete, and large government construction projects); we had purchased this property in 2019 with the intention of building it out as a small family orchard to be self sustaining and also feed our community, family, and friends with highly sought after organically tended fruits, veggies and herbs. It has now become a family estate with a 26'x50' greenhouse, custom-built redwood chicken coop, guest houses to welcome our closest family members and friends, and successful fruit orchard with over 300 fruit trees.
Now for the first time in 6 years since we have purchased this property, we are sharing this property with people from all over the world who have journeyed to enjoy Maui's beautiful beaches, impressive waterfalls and breathtaking hikes, with options ranging from easy coastal strolls to challenging mountain climbs. Also, we have welcomed and hosted scientists, educators, writers and artists from all over the world who have come to work at Haleakala's summit and the world's largest optical solar telescopes. The sunrises from the summit of Haleakala is a metaphysical experience of the first magnitude and the sunsets are just as breathtaking! We hope you will love it as much as we do. Maui Nō Ka ʻOi!
