Cute cottage & amazing hosts
This cottage was perfect for our family stay! There are plenty of modern amenities, but the home retains so much of its historical charm. The hosts were AMAZING - very sweet and responsive!

Lovely old cottage
I grew up in a house built in the early 1800’s This house had many of the same features I love the wide pine floors Fresh eggs awaited us on the counter . Due to the family commitments we didn’t spend much time in the place but it was comfortable

Family celebration
The house was very cute. The only thing is I wish there was a/c upstairs. We really enjoyed our stay. We also liked that the owner left us somefresh eggs (we did not get to eat them) but that was a nice gesture. We would stay again.

Rustic but charming
Was comfortable for our needs. I would suggest a dehumidifier as it was a little musty smelling and a new coffee maker.

Great cottage convenient to Barre and Montpelier
We, in our sixties, and our Dad, in his late eighties, stayed here in May for a week. The hosts were fantastic. Even left us a dozen eggs from their farm plus a variety of beers 😁. Downstairs has everything you need. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom with shower. Screened in and 2nd open but covered porch were delightful. Kitchen has pots and pans, table settings, and appliances like dishwasher, toaster and drip coffee maker. You’ll need to bring your own spices. If planning to cook. Upstairs had 3 bedrooms plus a bathroom with just a bath (no shower). The beds we slept in were very comfortable and we appreciated the nice linens. The stairs going upstairs are VERY STEEP. We climbed them basically like a ladder. Being built in 1827, the house is not handicap accessible but an absolute treasure otherwise. We highly recommend!

Great stay at the Stonecutters cottage
We stayed 5 nights and really enjoyed the house. We especially enjoyed the rich history about the house and people that lived there. The hosue maintays its character while still maintaining most of the modern features we enjoy. The owners greeted us when we arrived and explained to us everything we needed to know. They were great hosts!

Restful cottage
The perfect place to rest, relax and unplug from the daily chaos. The cottage was cozy and homey. It slept 4 adults easily. Enjoying coffee every morning on the front porch was my favorite part of the stay.

Family gathering
This property was easy access to where our local travels were planned. We had planned a small family gathering after a funeral and more out of state relatives showed up than we expected so this gave us a place to gather afterwards. Unfortunately the fall colors on the trees weren't quite turning yet so we missed the vibrant fall that you expect in Vermont

Family time before college drop off
This was the perfect cottage for time together before we dropped our daughter off for college. We wanted to spend our extra day exploring Vermont but the cottage was perfect for puzzles, walks, and a homemade dinner. Thank you to Kathi for the loan of a cane when I forgot mine. Generous and kind, as well as helpful. Perfect porch for reading and room for everyone.

Truly a Cottage
It is right on the road, but the road is not busy so not too bad. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are extremely steep - not made for old people. The host is very responsive, and the property is will appointed.

Vintage Vermont Farm House
We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable with lots of classic interesting features. Very clean. It has everything you need. Owner responded very quickly to my questions. She even left us farm fresh eggs! I loved the screen porch to sit out in the front of the house and have coffee. House is in close proximity to a well traveled road. Back yard space is limited. I would stay there again.

Cute rustic cabin
.This rental did the job for our group of 5 cyclists. We were ready to ride right from the door, and the surrounding roads were very nice to ride on. Kate was very available, helpful and quick to respond. She provided us with fresh eggs from her farm, which was very nice. The house is close to a main road, which can be a bit noisy at night, it helps to have earplugs. The house had everything necessary for a comfortable stay, for cooking, and plenty of space and bedrooms. It is very rustic, but it was a good value for our money.

Cozy Country Cottage
My partner and I rented the Stonecutter's cottage for his parents to stay in while we got married on our property in Brookfield. The house was extremely comfortable, and the host was an excellent communicator and very accommodating. We could not recommend this rental more for anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic experience in rural Vermont! Thank you for everything!

Cute cottage, great location
Kate was a great host -- friendly, attentive, and flexible. We enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and her recommendations for places nearby to hike / watch the sunrise. The cabin is in a fantastic location, as described (near Montpelier, Stowe, Waterbury, many state parks). The home is very quaint, but should be noted that it is right off of a main road and located a couple hundred feet from a pull-off. We noticed cars stopping there frequently even at night (not sure why -- car problems?) which was rather off-putting in a more rural area. The home is well-furnished and maintained with care, but it is definitely an old house. Don't expect fresh coats of paint or be surprised by spiders. There is WiFi but we didn't find it usable for work needs -- speeds were about 0.5 Mbps using the Wifi or 15 Mbps using LTE. We used data just fine for streaming, maps, etc. We appreciated the small touches and Kate's hospitality, and enjoyed our stay at the cottage!
