About this property

Charming 5 Bedroom Fully Renovated Historic Home

Featuring original hardwoods + lots of natural light, this lovingly restored, 1900's home is conveniently situated minutes from downtown atop a city hill that backs up to a wooded mountain and neighbors a park with trails and playground. Offering 5 bedrooms / 2.5 baths, Wifi, 2 smart TVs, a fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, front porch rockers, private off-alley garage parking, and a deck with a view of the famous Reading Pagoda, this well-designed guest house can be your home away from home.

The space:
Location: One mile from the Santander Arena (a twenty-minute walk through the city) and the Santander Performing Arts Center. Ten-minute drive to West Reading where you'll find fine dining, boutique shops, and trendy bars. Across the street from Neversink Playground, which boasts a kids' play area, baseball field, basketball court, and trailhead for hiking and mountain biking with access to 8 miles of well-maintained trails.

Main Floor: The impeccable 2024 remodel of this century-and-a-quarter-year-old home added a large cased opening between the seating and cooking areas, creating an open floor plan that connects the living room, library, kitchen, and dining areas.

Living Room: Sit back and unwind while you watch your latest show on the large 50" Smart TV, and with a push of a button in winter warm up with the built-in LED electric fireplace. For a cozy read, sink into the deep arm chairs in the neighboring library nook at the base of the staircase. A conveniently located 1/2 bath is just down the hall.

Kitchen: Fully stocked and ready for you to prepare your next chef's feast! All new appliances -- including fridge, dishwasher, and range with a beautiful stove hood -- complement the 6-ft island, custom backsplash, and trendy gold faucet.

Dining Room: Relax at the large 8-seat farmhouse dining table under the light of a golden chandelier. Two barstools surround the nearby island for overflow seating for especially large groups.

Master Suite: This first-floor addition is one of the real treats of this unique home, in which you'll find a king bed with custom cabinetry surround, 30" Smart TV, and beautiful private master bathroom with walk-in shower featuring a rain-head shower head.

Second Floor: At the top of a small landing you'll find 4 more bedrooms that sleep two each: the queen room, the bunk room, the twin room, and a dedicated office that contains a bonus day bed with trundle. There's also a 2nd full bath featuring XL bathtub.

Exterior Spaces: You'll be delighted to find many private outdoor areas around this unique city home, including a deep front porch boasting comfortable rocking chairs, a quiet screened-in back porch just off the kitchen, and an outdoor dining area (with gas grill) in the fully fenced-in backyard. Climb up a few steps to the custom deck, where another outdoor seating area offers a view across the city to the famous Reading Pagoda!

Guest access:
This whole property will be yours for the duration of your stay.

Other things to note:
As family people ourselves, we know the joys and challenges of being away from home with little ones! To ensure your family is as comfortable as possible, there's a Pack & Play (with bassinet extension) available in one of the upstairs bedroom closets. There's also a lovely park right across the street!

Beautiful renovated house

What a gorgeous house at the edge of downtown Reading! Renovated beautifully, it had plenty of room for our whole family to sleep comfortably and enjoy time together downstairs in the kitchen and living areas. The owners are very communicative and gracious and the 3 car garage was a huge plus as we had several rental cars and the street parking is limited! We would definitely stay here again!
