The water level on Lake Swift is controlled by Pacific Power And Light. Our Log Lodge is on the Damn side of the Lake, so we are not effected as much from the water level when it goes up and down. The Lodge sits on a beautiful Cove. This Lodge is totally off grid with all the conviences of home, just working a bit differently, as we operate off a generator system. Although we are off-grid and remote, we do have Wi-Fi available through Starlink.

The stay
Fantastic lodge and location with beautiful view. However, it was hard to find despite directions. Also, the generator is too complicated to get get going. we had two engineers in our group who finally figured it out after some calls to property manager. For people who have been traveling a long distance and arrive to deal with a generator issue is burdensome and we would recommend some alternatives. We sat in the dark for several hours waiting for generator to prune,

Most Memorable!
We sought a special place to celebrate a milestone birthday weekend with family, and this home exceeded all expectations: super spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. There are some unique aspects to being "off the grid" that can be a bit tricky (e.g. heat provided by gas wall units and fireplace), but the property manager was immediately responsive to help us understand/solve the minor challenges we had. The location is a bit remote, but SPECTACULAR and very convenient to the sights and hikes around Mt. St. Helens.

Wonderful Lodge and Experience
We had a family reunion with three generations present. The Lodge was ideally set up for all of us. There were enough things to do to keep everybody connected and entertained. Two of the days there were cold and cloudy. The Lodge was cozy and there was ample fire-wood to provide warmth and ambience. The kitchen was so well stocked that we were able to enjoy some elaborate meals for the whole family. It was incredibly peaceful and there was only one other boat out on the water in all three days we were there. The location is beautiful. We had no problems navigating the drive-way and there was ample parking space for our five vehicles. We would highly recommend this place.

Family Weekend Retreat
Beautiful lakeside cabin on large acreage that easily accommodated our family gathering (12 guests). Closest neighbors cannot be seen nor heard. It felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves. It can be tricky locating the driveway as there isn’t really any signage or indication you’ve reached the property, but I was able to locate the property ahead of time using Google satellite imagery in combination with the directions provided by the property manager. Kitchen is well stocked. Pictures on the inside of the cabinets showing where everything goes is a nice touch. The path down to the shore is steep as advertised, but we all managed just fine and the kids enjoyed the water trampoline while the adults enjoyed kayaking and the SUPs. There are no drapes or curtains, so one should pack sleep masks if they intend to sleep in as first light comes early in summer. On the last day of our stay, we were somehow locked out of the kitchen pantry (we still don’t know how that happened), but the property manager was extremely responsive and was able to resolve the issue. The property manager was also helpful in responding to all my questions prior to our arrival. Bedrooms were great. Kids loved the bunks. We had a wonderful time.

Great Bachlaextravangza for the bride to be!
My friend is a total outdoors, mountains, lakes, hiking enthusiast. This was the perfect bachelorette excursion with 10 friends. Plenty of sleeping accommodations, beautiful deck and large indoor areas. Access to water, floating dock and many other water toys including the pontoon boat we rented. BEAUTIFUL place, highly recommend. I may be bringing my family back here.

Lovely Log Cabin
This log cabin is a sturdy work of art! Incredibly beautiful with thoughtful design. The bedrooms were a generous size and the areas for gathering in the upper loft and family room were perfect for playing games and reading. The location of the cabin is awesome with its own cove. We brought our own boat and docked it onto an anchored buoy and tree stump. Access to the boat was tricky as the floating dock required to be pumped up for each use, but the family all agreed it was worth it. The driveway had too many hairpin turns that we were required to pay for our trailer and towing vehicle to stay parked at the Forest Campground where the boat launch was located. It worked out just fine since we took two cars, we recommend others do the same if they bring their own boat. The younger adults loved the paddle boards and we all loved the view from the patio! Absolutely stunning! There’s even a waterfall on the opposite side of the lake! We highly recommend this property for those who want a true log cabin experience. It’s the perfect location for fun times on the lake and a day trip to the Ape Caves, Lava Canyon Trail, and Lahar Viewpoint of Mt. St. Helen’s.

Lovely Lakeside Weekender
A quick trip from Portland to this lovely cabin right on the water! The cabin and setting is spectacular. The lake is big and beautiful -- we expected a "party lake" vibe but we had the place to ourselves. It was serene. All friends agreed we must make an annual trip out of it. We spent most of our days on the floating docks and SUPs provided by the hosts, but when it was time to break away from splashing around and make a meal the kitchen had everything we needed. A few tips after the stay: Bring a lot of ice and use the large drink cooler, the less you open the fridge the better There are no window coverings (by design), which means the first thing you see in the morning is the lake. There are some sleep masks provided but I recommend bringing your own. Lastly, always remove sunglasses before jumping in the water

Great Visit at the Lake Lodge
Our family group of 15 spent three great days at the Lodge. The beautiful log construction is impressive, offering plenty of deck and inside options for relaxing. Vast counter space in the well-stocked kitchen. Inflatable dock and floaties offer fun on the lake which was a perfect temperature for swimming and floating. We had some confusion regarding sleeping space, but the current on-line description is accurate.

Excellent lake house
Incredible location on the lake. The house was clean and well equipped. Climbing down to the lake is a rather steep hill so may be difficult for the elderly or very young. It's wonderful that some water toys and small boats are included in the rental, but they were in rather bad shape when we rented, hopefully they have been replaced or repaired.

Great getaway
We loved this place. 8 longtime friends from across the country met at the cabin. It was a lovely gathering place. Intimate spots for good conversations, big dining table for group meals, quiet spots for reading time. The lake is spectacular and when we were there it was as if it was our own. It's off the grid, but not that far off the grid. Quiet. Beautiful scenes off the decks and out windows.

The Girls Trip
This is a truly beautiful spot. The views from the house are incredible. Very open and spacious floor plan. Lots of great hiking trails can be found not too far away (do your research beforehand as the WiFi was very spotty). Four wheel drive vehicles are a must to navigate the steep, rocky driveway down to the house. Also good to note getting the Paddle boards down and back to the water from the garage requires strong, fit people.

A dream!
The lodge and property were beyond our expectations, and was the perfect location to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Extremely private and quiet, with lots of room for the nine adults in our group. The kitchen is well stocked, all the furniture is comfortable, with lots of seating options both inside and out. Much of our time was spent at the lake, and on the deck watching the stars at night. We ditched our plans for hiking and didn’t leave the property for our entire five night stay, it was just so lovely.

Excellent stay!
When you stay here you feel as though you have the entire reservoir to yourselves! Not one nearby cabin or hangout. And, at-least for our stay, hardly any activity on the water making it feel like we truly had the place to ourselves. On top of that, communication with staff was prompt and extremely helpful. Without a last minute change to our reservation (adding the pontoon rental), our planned boating weekend would have been a failure as we had a day-of cancellation at another boat rental location in Portland. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone who can afford it. Thanks again!

Exceptional family experience
The property was very clean and was as described in detail. The house and grounds had everything to keep our family of 12 with 6 kids happy and occupied both indoors and outdoors. We took advantage of the pontoon boat that is available and spent several hours everyday on the lake. The kids played every day with the paddle board, canoes and paddle boat provided. We took trips to Mount Saint Helens and the Ape Caves which were close by. The location is remote but is quiet in a gorgeous, peaceful setting overlooking Lake Swift. We had great weather, plenty of room and everyone enjoyed our 5 night stay. Jean, the property manager, was promptly available and responsive if we had a question or if something came up. It was a perfect 4th of July getaway for us.

It was the perfect get-a-way for our family!
It was utterly amazing. The house was better than it was portrayed to be. It was very well stocked and it held our family of 16! If you like a country feel and away from the crowds this is the place to go. The land is steep and probably not a good fit for the very old. We loved our stay....some of the grandkids wanted us to buy it!! LOL!

Excellent house! Great location!
Great and specious. Stayed at the house for 3 night over Memorial Day Weekend with two other families. The house runs on generator which was a little unusual, but pretty easy to operate. The weather was very disappointing, so we couldn't enjoy the lake which seems to be so much fun! Will definitely stay there again.

Amazing Private Lake Cabin
The lake lodge and property are quite amazing. The cabin is spacious, built and styled with awesome huge logs and decorated with fishing and wild life art and paraphanalia. Great for active capable people who can safely manage the long steep narrow switch back entry driveway and the transport of lake play floats and supplies down the 3 swithback path and ladder down cliff and loose footing rock shore to the water. Last year the floating doc was in the water and anchored and ready for use. This year the floating dock was deflated on the rocky shore and was found to have air leaks that made it unuseable. We made due with another dock that was in the basement . This required the work of inflating and patching and carting down to the water. In all it took a lot of work amoungst us all to enjoy the water activities that were so easy last year. The lake was a little lower this year but there are pros and cons... a little farther to walk over the rocks to the water, but a large rock ledge good for jumping into the water was esposed. There is a bit of adventure to exploring the shore and water that will be a little different every year. Quite convenient that there is a rock island and some clear beaches nearby and a beautiful water fall directly across the lake.
