Willing to work with wildfire displaced guests on long term pricing. Gorgeous custom-built home has large cook's kitchen with luxury appliances and finishes. Master suite w/ king bed and working fireplace overlooks the canal. Large guest suite with king bed and private bath and additional guest suite with queen bed and private bath. Three working fireplaces and large patio on the water. House is a short walk from the beach - very quiet and secluded. High ceilings, fully updated AV system throughout the house, TVs in all bedrooms and great room. Bikes and boogie boards and beach toys provided. Dock with canoe available for use. The house is conveniently located for easy access to all of LA. The Venice Canals is a very special neighborhood and we strive to make your stay luxurious and stress-free.

Lovely stay

Felt like a home rather than a rental property. Well-cleaned, stocked, and quite comfortable. Location is ideal for those looking for a west LA vacation. The canals are pretty and close to the beach. We had an interim cleaning arranged by the owner which was much appreciated. Meal preparations were made easy by having a cook's kitchen at our disposal. The main bedroom was a delightful place to unwind and relax. And the library with its wide and discerning collection of books was much appreciated.

Lovely home and attentive host

We had an amazing family holiday here in August. The home is everything that is represented and is in a wonderful location in the Venice Beach canals. The host is a true professional and every necessary amenity was provided. She stayed closely in touch with us throughout the experience to make sure we had what we needed. We would not hesitate to return here in the future, which we very much hope to do.

Great property and location!

Perfect location for some R&R while also hitting LA’s hotspots! Super comfortable and spacious home with an excellent responsive host. Discovering the canals was an unexpected highlight of the trip, and a great location for downtime. While we didn’t take advantage of it, Jill is well equipped with beach fun, bikes and in the kitchen.

Beautiful Venice Experience

Jill is the best hostess! The house is so beautiful and we loved being on the Venice canals! Our family loved the patio area, the fabulous kitchen, comfortable beds, and great bathrooms. EVERYTHING!!! We would highly recommend this property if you're looking for an excellent owner and a fabulous place to stay in LA! We hope to come back again! We'd love to make this our "home away from home" when we visit our son!

An Amazing Experience in Venice

Our family had a wonderful stay in Venice as part of our summer trip. Jill was an incredible host and her house is impressive and so welcoming. This was everything our family of four wanted as part of our LA experience. Check-in was super clear and Jill provided us with a personalized listing of information about the house and nearby attractions for our family to check out. She made us feel comfortable and welcome - my boys especially loved using her boogie boards at the Beach. Her house is beautifully decorated and clean and we appreciated the small touches - like fresh soap and lotions in the bathrooms. And staying on the canals is a dream - packed away from the crowds of Venice Beach in an inspiring community of homes filled with friendly walkers. Her house is perfectly situated - 10 minutes to the beach in one direction and the shops and dining of Abbott-Kinney in the other. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to LA and will recommend her home to friends. Thanks Jill!

This is Venice

This house is amazing, and the host was super responsive and accommodating. There was something for everyone, including a baby grand for my daughter (she’s a pianist). I loved sitting on the patio each morning with my coffee and books, saying hi to passersby on the canal. Would stay again’

Tuscany in Venice

Wow, just Wow! Our visit was a Thanksgiving week family get together. There are a lot of positive things to say about the property. But since this was TG, I'll start with the kitchen. Jill graciously opened up all here cooking utensils and supplies cabinets to us. So, if we hadn't planned for this or that spice, no problem, her accessories cabinet was fully stocked. And the appliances are top notch. Just have a look at the pictures of the property. Amazing spaces for the fam to congregate including a beautiful dining room, family TV room and patio facing the famous Venice canals. The master bedroom suite deserves more than a mention too. Plenty of closet and bathroom space. And a balcony overlooking the canals. We arrived home today and the first thing I missed about this VRBO was the shower. Trust me!! If you can find a better VRBO anywhere, I want to know where it is! Special shout out to Jill, our host who made sure our stay was memorable.

Wonderful!

We have stayed in many vrbo homes. This one by far was our family’s favorite. The kitchen has lots of pots, pans, spices, plates, bowls and utensils. The beds are very comfortable. The dining area is spacious and not cramped. The back patio is lovely for enjoying breakfast and relaxing. The master shower is a spa experience. There are lots of towels, which is so wonderful. Parking is easy. The living area is comfortable and has a nice biew of the canal. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to be back soon! Thank you, Jill!

Beautiful and Relaxing

This home was beautifully appointed and was a perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. Jill provided everything we needed from cooking a meal to a day at the beach. Would definitely recommend to anyone and look forward to returning someday.

Great Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. It is in a terrific location and the home is so very comfortable. We loved the added benefit of canoeing, which we did each day. The patio outside was relaxing - a great place to have coffee in the morning and an evening meal.

Best rental experience of all time!

The property itself is a work of art with everything hand selected to make it feel like you are in an Italian villa. All the amenities were wonderful. It's such a great spot to relax as well as wander on foot for food, beach and adventure. Jill is the best host! She made sure we had everything. I wish I had a Jill for all of my vacations!!

Fantastically wonderful house!

We’ve stayed at the Venice canals a few times and Jill’s house was far and away the best. It’s surely one of the nicest and most beautiful houses in Venice. Wonderful architecture (and I have high standards), the location can’t be beat, and Jill is super nice. We had the best time ever. One of the things that makes this place so special is that it’s a real home. Most rental houses have been used and abused and sterilised to within an inch of their lives and have no character or warmth left. Jill does not hide away valuable / breakable objects or furniture. She trusts you to take care of her things and that makes you feel welcome and special - like a real guest. The highlight of our family vacation in LA was this place - and that’s a first for us. Thank you so much, Jill!

Lovely!

This was our first time staying in the Venice Beach area. The house was beautiful and the location was great. We walked into a spotless house that was well stocked and very comfortable. I truly appreciated the wonderful kitchen since I love to cook. There were bikes in the garage and we did canoe on the canals. It was great fun. We also enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shops. Jill was a lovely host and contacted me to make sure all was well and made herself available if we needed anything. Many thanks! We had a great time.

Lovely Venice Beach Home

We came down to Venice Beach from San Francisco for a short family vacation at the end of July. The Venice Canals district is our favorite location in L.A., and this is amongst the most luxurious properties in the area. The home is truly grand, with luxurious furnishings and bedding, an amazing library, and a fully stocked, professional grade gourmet kitchen. It is a short walk or ride to the Venice Beach boardwalk and the eclectic restaurants, cafes, and shops of Abbot Kinney. We loved paddling the canoe along the canals, riding the included cruiser bikes along Venice Beach and Santa Monica, cooking family meals in the amazing kitchen, and just sipping wine on the patio and watching the people and birds enjoying the canals. There are a number of great casual restaurants nearby along Abbot Kinney, such as Zinc, Gjelina, Felix, Yours Truly, and the Rose. Jill was a gracious host, incredibly responsive with our reservations and check-in and always available to answer questions or provide recommendations. We can't wait to go back.

I'm a native NYer who lives bi-coastally. I love the house - in fact, I built it to be my dream home. I do get to spend a lot of time there - it is my primary residence - so the house is well taken care of. I have heard such good things about the people who are on VRBO that I thought I would give it a shot!

Why they chose this property

I have been in love with the Venice Canals neighborhood since I lived there with a friend in the 80s. When a lot came up for sale in 2000, I grabbed it and spent the next 2 years carefully building the perfect home. The neighborhood is amazing and fun and the people in the area are great. On weekends, I rarely use a car - I can walk or bike almost everywhere. Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey are a few minutes walk and it is so nice to grab a coffee and watch the waves come in early in the morning. It's just a beautiful neighborhood with a friendly and relaxed vibe. You will make new friends during your stay!

What makes this property unique

When I built the house, I wanted the feel and look of comfortable old houses I had visited in the South of France and Italy. The wood shutters, high ceilings, heated marble floors and comfy, squishy furniture make it so welcoming. I love to cook and the kitchen is built for a pro. It's definitely a home - and looking out on the water while you sip a glass of wine at night is priceless.
