About this property
Bright and spacious 3 Bed/3 Bath in Chester, VT
This bright and spacious 3 bed/3 bath home is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, a local pub, and small grocery store in Chester, VT, and easy driving distance to many ski and recreational areas including Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow (20 min) and Killington and Pico Mountain Ski Resorts (45–50 min). Many quaint towns and villages full of art, culture, and beautiful scenery are just a quick drive or day trip away, including Woodstock and Manchester, VT (each 45 min), and Stowe and Burlington (~2 hrs).
The house is equipped with Wi-Fi and we have yet to experience issues with mobile phone reception on any major carriers, but please keep in mind that you may often experience pockets without coverage when driving through Vermont.
Each of the three bedrooms have TVs with streaming, thermostats for individual temperature control (heat only, the house does *NOT* have air conditioning), ceiling fans, and portable fans. The two bedrooms on the main floor have full, ensuite baths, with an additional third full bath on the main floor and a third bedroom upstairs.
- The first bedroom on the main floor (next to the kitchen) has a queen bed, built-in dresser, and closet with hangers.
- The second bedroom on the main floor (at the end of the hall) has a king bed, built-in dresser, closet with hangers, and dedicated workspace with a standing desk, office chair, and second monitor in one of the two walk-in closets.
- The upstairs bedroom has a king bed and clothing rack with hangers. It's connected to the theater with doors at the theater entrance and bottom of the stairs.
All bedrooms face the back or side yard and not the main roads.
The living room has a large sectional sofa that comfortably fits 4–6 people, large TV with streaming, and ceiling fan. Please note that the pellet stove is *NOT* currently operational.
The full, stocked kitchen is equipped with a sink with a detachable sprayer and garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster, plus:
- Cookware (pots/pans)
- Grill set
- Dishes (plates/bowls)
- Silverware
- Glassware (including coffee mugs and wine glasses)
- Knives and cutting boards
- Baking dish
- Mixing bowls
- Measuring cups and teaspoons
- Strainers
- Sheet pans
- Oven mitts and hot pads
- Various dried herbs, spices, and cooking oils
- Coffee and various teas
Kitchen includes a breakfast nook that seats four and island that seats three. Additionally there is a large dining room with seating for six.
The expansive, private, and fully fenced-in backyard includes a patio, firepit, grill, and hammock. The patio and walkways in the backyard are *NOT* shoveled or salted; during inclement weather we ask that you please do not use them.
The theater has a sofa and bean bag, projector with streaming, books, and games. It’s connected to the upstairs bedroom, with doors at the theater entrance and bottom of the stairs.
Please note that being close to town and at the intersection of two main roads definitely has its advantages—you can walk to many places in Chester, the roads are reliably plowed, and they take you straight to some amazing places throughout Vermont—but with that comes a bit of noise from the traffic. Traffic generally slows down after 6pm, and is much less noticeable in the back of the house (where the bedrooms are located) and backyard. Closing the windows will also help reduce the noise during peak hours.
